@Talkingforfree - the drummer is Andy Newmark who has played with Bryan & Roxy for years (from around 1980 on disc & on tour) and the younger drummer is Bryan's son Tara. The guitarist is Oliver Thompson a cracking player who's worked with Bryan since around 2007 as far as I know.
THAT'S Newmark? oh wow....Last time I remember seeing him, he still had the "white boy afro" hair. Geez, I need to pay attention. Thanks for the info!
As for the middle, it seems to be just the same (this becomes visible if to watch the two videos all together slice by slice... but I’m not sure yet ))), because Bryan’s gestures imitate his gestures and moves from the first vid in exactly the same way.
Anyway, it’s a brilliant performance! This second version is a bit better and more impressive, in my oppinion. It’s a very touching episode that is shown here - his jumping up with a charming smile, love it.
As far as I can see it (as a result of my effotrs to compare these two performances), the very beginning, when Bryan’s moving up from the stairs, this is different so as Jools’s introduction of the band... oh no, his introduction of Bryan, better to say :)
@natateaful - yeah, begining to doubt myself now. A topic for die-hard fans only I think. Just waiting for the 'Who cares' comments to arrive but obviously some of us do care.
Hi Kanecaptain ... how is it different ? the intro by Jools Holland is different agreed .. but the performance is the same .... ( different camera angles )
@dalyjohnm - good point, the intro and outro clearly start and finish during a different take (not camera angle) - Jools positioning on stage and what he says at the start and end are new, why would they refilm Bryan moving up to sing and the band atarting up differently and then splice in the same performance in the midde -anyone one out there think this is new or the same recording?? I'm confused.
Andy Newmark is a king of drums, great song from Mr. Ferry

Anybody know the names of the band members...specifically the drummers and lead guitar. That's not Paul Thompson back there is it?
Love the Olympia album...there's just no one else who sounds like Ferry.

@Talkingforfree: Indeed, you are right; it is Paul Thompson (as from Roxy Music, Concrete Blonde) on drums. (The younger spike, I do not know of.)
