@Phamhungcuong1987 Leg power generally comes from the hamstrings. strong quads can improve a deadlift off the floor but are not essential. deadlift power comes from hamstrings, glutes, lower back (spinal erectors) and to some extent quadriceps...having a strong upper back aids in deadlift lockout as well.
it's amazing how pro deadlifters are able to keep their upper back rounded while at the same time keeping their lower back straight. I guess it comes with experience.

tastefulphrasing, did you do the 575 lb. Deadlift for a set of six raw or with lifting gear?
Recently, I did 557 lb. Deadlift raw for a set of five and without a belt. Could have done my sixth repetition easily.
A lot of people might say not lifting with a belt for regular Deadlift sets will hurt your back, but if done right, will actually make your back stronger as you use the abdominal muscles more.
@Fanndal1989 your right ive been too hasty to dismiss what are clearly superior intellects, who else could have the confidence to ignore both facts and common sense! we could all learn a lot from these great minds : P
@Hattermann ha I took a look man that's fantastic, applied to the average you tube comment it fits perfectly. Too stupid to realize they have no idea what they're talking about!
@tastefulphrasing dude he is the worlds strongest deadlifter how can you say that you only doing 6 is humbling? doing 575 once is amazing let alone 6..

This man is awsome does he use leg power to deadlift or just his lower back?
Phamhungcuong1987 5 months ago
@Phamhungcuong1987 In his max lift, both. Push with the legs and pull with the back. Push pull.

the previous world record for most weight deadlifted in a minute...
3864 pounds by Dr. Thienna Ho
And Benni Magnusson....
2*575=1150
1150*11=12650
I think it's safe to say we have at least an unofficial broken record here...
SCHYang 7 months ago
@SCHYang Think that is BS! A lot of men can do 575 for 8-12 reps in 60 sec here in iceland and that is 4600-6900lbs a minute

I did 557 lbs. or 252.5 kilograms Deadlift for a set of five raw recently, and didn't hurt my spine. My body weight is around 297 lbs.
Based on the Epley Formula, my predicted one repetition max is near 650 lbs. Might be a little higher equipped.
HalifaxHercules 10 months ago
575 for 6 reps? yea right, most lower weight class powerlifters can't even do 575 for 1 rep raw
