If you know how to keep them in tune, they fire up easy enough. People would always come out of the bar to watch me fire mine, up then be amazed when it did first kick.
not a pos as you call it. had this bike shelved for 7 years before i tried to crank it. bike kicks on first try now and is a beauty. i will post another vid proving this.and it is an old school model made in the 60s.
It's all about the timing. Adjust that right and it should start on the first kick. Got a friend's 1970 Ironhead adjusted so well that it will start on the first kick now after setting for months.
I got a '71...it took me forever to get it tuned up. I got and old S&S Super B...Electronic Ignition helped a lot. Now Fires 2-3 Kicks to prime...1 Kick and she fires!

My 57 sport is a little slow to start sometimes. Don't even turn key on till 3rd kick. still 6 volt with single point setup.
