so telling someone that this is not trance because it is progressive is complete nonsense!

@Reisbauer I agree. I would call this Progressive House. However even that is a pretty shoddy genre in my opinion. Almost everything is Progressive House these days (ie. Deadmau5). Progressive just means 'experimental' or 'advanced' from its parent genre.

@SSdraken Progressive has nothing to do with experimental or advanced. it's not like progressive rock. Progressive in electronic dance music just means that the track is constantly changing and "progressing" in it's melody, chord structure, etc. Progressive music typically has multiple buildups and breakdowns that differ. I'm not hating, I'm really glad you like this kind of music, just trying to keep you informed dude :)

@swiftstealth Yeah. I agree with your definition of progressive. The same definition of progressive applies to rock, and if you listen to stuff like 'Rush' their tracks do actually continually evolve, rarely repeating themselves. On the other hand Progressive seems to be very repetitive. So I'm not really sure how the definition of the word 'progressive' actually applies to the genre of Progressive EDM. I guess we can agree to differ :) Its a large topic!
