  • hi, very interesting... I am trying to use the bcr2000 to manipulate the parameters of a jomox mbase11. could you help me with the conections and how to run it? i use ableton and logic. if i connect the bcr and the jomox in a circle with my fireface 400 i get midi signal but no audio. i have a m-audio keyrig 49 connected via usb to the computer and the bcr and the jomox in line directly to the fireface´s midi.. programmed the cc in the editor of the bcr... help please...

  • Hei!

Kjenner du til om BCR kan brukes til å kontrollere parameterene på Roland D-50?

    (erstattning for PG-1000?)

  • Reminds me of LP5 era Autechre, but it's a Nord, so no surprise.

  • Hi there lesingemonotone, nice music you have there. Thank you for having our product as one of your gear. We've subscribed to your channel to hear more from you. More power!

  • @behringer: thanks for making the BCR and BCF controllers - they are still among the best minicontrollers out there since 8 years! Check out my JX8p+BCF-video. ;)

  • @lesingemonotone why did you chose the BCF for the JX8 and not the BCR? Eric

  • @shckltnebay because I sold the BCR, so I was out of options...;)

  • for there can add your own samples?

  • how did you set it, tell me, please work with reason 4.0

  • hello oh damn why i have sold my nord modular key, i missed so maybe i can get a another one.

    I´ve sold it 2 buy a SP-606 4 a dj project.

After the sold of my nord i´ve hear an LP from Prodigy and then it makes klick in my brain damn

now i wanna buy a bcr and a bcf at 1st.

    rated 5* LG eric

  • When playin in a club with 1 of these how do u mix or does it sync tracks for u, Breakbot D's with 1 but wondered how he used it????

  • would one of the small akai usb midi controllers work with this?

  • thats fantastic mate. just won a modular the other day on ebay - cant wait to get it!

  • Ive heard that the built quality is not so good? whats your opinion? i might buy it.

  • can this control the Nord rack as well?

  • @killtheswitch: Yep, the nordrack receives CC-messages also, but does not have the internal sequencer of the nordmodular used in this video

  • so does that mean i wont be able to program its drums the way you did?

  • @killtheswitch : no, in that case you have to have an external hardware or software sequencer since the nordlead-synths doesn't have one built in.

  • yup, i was thinking of getting the monome. i can do that right? and use the sequencers on there and other programs to play around with the nord sounds?

  • Sweet! Can you post the templates you used for the BCR? :D

  • @lesingemonotone so in other words, I can use the BCR with Fruity Loops?

  • reminds me of monome

  • i didnt see your post. lol

  • OMG! using the BCR to control sequencer steps, Thats it, im getting one!

  • I've got the BCF2000 and the BCR2000, and I can't figure out the documentation or how to get these things to work with Reason/Logic.

Do you have any recommendations on where I can go to figure these things out? You're such a pro at that stuff!!

  • Nice tweakage.

  • Sorry the nord modular has no learn option , unless you're talking about the behringer ( which I don't have )

    So xcuse me For interfering

What did I just write ...ahhh time ..

  • Great vid.

would I be able to MIDI one of these up to my Akai S6000 sampler to control cut off, res, ADSR, LFOs etc etc?

Does it have MIDI learn? IE you put it into learn mode and twiddle the relevant parameter on the sampler?

  • Yes, it does feature a learn-option and can learn and send CC and simple sysex.

  • Just got the BCF2000 and it's a great piece of equipment, period. The really low price tag just adds to its awesomeness.. Planning on buying a BCR2000 next month, wouldn't mind a bit of extra knobs ;)

  • so i can use that bcr like a live midi sequencer, like to control reason redrum or max?

  • not quite, the bcr is merely _controlling_ the nordmodular's internal sequencer in this clip.

  • I don't know Nord Modular. Are you controlling more then one sequencer by changing presets, or just different knobs and one sequencer only? Have you tried doing the same in Reason?

  • that is include in daft punk materials for their live

  • one question should i get the Knob one of the Fader one?

  • Depends on what you wanna do - I have both. BCF2000 (faders) is also great because or it's Makiemode-protocol and motorised faders...

  • i will be using to do a bit of everything, creating tracks in the fashion that you are here and hopefully mixing aswell oh and all with ableton

i am being tempted by the BCR because it will essentially fit 3 times as many controls in the same space as the BCF and do the same thing (for a little bit less) but motorized faders are so appealing

    its a tough choice

  • The real strength of the BCF2000 is the Mackiemode that make assigning of knobs non existing... I actually could do a youtube-video for that too...:)

  • if you could only have one which would you chose?

at the moment i have got it in to my head that the extra 12 controls that you get with the BCR will be more useful than being able to do more than two controls with ease at a time.

bcr wins in my head but bcf wins in my heart

  • I use them for differnt things: the BCR is great for editing synths and realtime-control in a live-sitaution. The BCF however, is great in a working-enviroment. I use it with Cubase SX via Mackiemode and whenever I add a track, a lever pops up assign to it. Knobs on the top can also be used for pan/EQ/whatever by default. If you use more than 8 channels - simply scroll sideways using bankbuttons...

(I really need to show this in a clip I guess)...:)

  • on that advice i will get the BCF

    thanks for your help

  • Hey. I use Reason and Live a lot , and probably more in the working enviroment than in performances. (I play rock music with samples). When I see the BCR I see much more knobs and buttons so I think 'more options'. Would u agree with me ? Or do u think the BCF has a substantial amount of controllers ? (I have niether of these units yet). I am looking for more than just pressing buttons for play and stop though. Cheers.

  • The BCR and BCF are made for differnt things: The BCR rocks in live situations due to its many knobs and buttons. The BCF however is superior with your favorite DAW using Mackie control mode.

  • Yeah but isn't MORE better ? The BCR seems like it could give you more options. After all they are just knobs and buttons that you can assign to ANYTHING (with midi mapping mode) right ?

  • Yes, but for using with it with cubase for instance, the mackiemode option of the BCF makes it far more flexible for that kind of tasks.

  • can you use this to eq vocals?

  • It is a control surface. You can use it to do anything when connected to a midi capable editing suite. I use mine with cakewalk and YES I can enter a mode where the knobs act as an EQ strip....

  • What are you hitting the drum pads with?

  • can i use this with fruity loops??

  • yeah why not?

  • yes!lol, just do link to controller and then move one of the knobs and it works fine

  • Can you route the midi connections via PC interface, then disconnect, leave the PC at home, and still use the behringer to control the parameters that you assigned for that patch? If so I might get a behringer and a micromodular instead of just a nord rack

  • Jup, that's the charm. :)

    /Le Singe Monotone

  • daft punk used the Behringer BCR2000 inside their pyramid. They controlled two custom made supercomputers via midi with it... They also used ableton live for sequencing etc

  • i want the bcr200 too! awesome even thou its obvoius the guy can't do music lolol

  • hello,

tu pourrais me filer le patch que tu as fait pour ca ? Ca passe aussi avec un micro modular ?

  • sequencing sequencers.... hmm

  • then you can play with the phase controls to get different kicks: 0, 90, 180, 270 are the classic points but try others...

yopu can program some buttons on the bcr for change to specific phase points you want

    cheers

    daniel, from uruguay

  • really nice work!

just a thing, i can hear your kick sweeping in phase, this is becasuse the oscillator you use doesn´t restart the waveform for each trigger, so it change over time and sometimes loose punch...

you can make some fixed phase kicks using just the LFO with phase retrigger option...just slave it frequency to a generic master oscillator and change the rate until it reach the frequency you want

  • ? I just don't get it! The only thing the Nord Modular has, is knobs! But you get a bunch of even more knobs to run it.

  • Well, it was nice configuring 16 buttons to stepprogram the drums in x0x-style and the rest was...well bonus. ;)

    /le singe monotone

  • Ah i see, so you had your fun!

    Thanks for enlighten me ;o)

  • Hi, welly welly well... I just don´t get it to configure my NM1 with the my BCR.

    nice work man

  • nice....very nice.

  • Wow! Great work!

  • would love to see the bcr and modular patches for this!

  • great stuff :)
