do you wanna learn how to jump or just wanna learn how to jump bare back.... u should ask ur instructor.. but if u don have one i would say u should u should start w/ a cross rail.. hope that helped...
definately start with just a pole, or cross rail, then once you have the feel for that, I'd try a bounce of just poles and small cross rails, then slowly work up to bigger jumps
@goldie443 I started jumping with a saddle over low jumps just so I could get the rhythm and feel to jumping, then I took my saddle off and I went over tiny little jumps and when I was really comfortable with those I set my jumps higher, it's that simple.

@angel162222 lol actually its not true about all appys some are great ... but my friends horse punky hes an appy and well... u can tell he can be a punk but u no... hes very good unless were in a group becasue hes likes the head horse lol well he sure thanks he is thats for sure when hes with other horses its always a race to be first ... trails jumps etc...
oh ok cause my dad believes him cause my appy well shes good with humans but when it comes to being with the others and putting her back in the stall when the others are still out, she gets pretty stuborn, and my dad ALWAYS thinks that she is the one to blame when something she probably didnt do happens... i mean she is still young and i think we probably need to give her some time.... i got her this christmas anyways. Yes and i think it's very good that u can jump a haflinger that big as yes i agree they're not at all built for jumping, so you're doing very well to jump that big with him/her. Okay, well ur pretty good. What's the highest you've jumped bareback before? For me it's 3'10'' but i'll have to post a video of it and show you some time... riding bareback is my life!!!!
i dont really see a point in that, i mean, when your in a saddle the point to have your heels down is so you have good balance and for other reasons, but why bareback? im sorry if im sounding mean im just wondering
I find bareback is easier, my horse has samll withers, so my saddle slides, and , the thing about having your heals down, you ahev them down to so you don' go cat a puling when your horse refueses right? I find when you are right on your horse, bareback, the more you ride the better your balance gets....and if you have good balance, you won't be falling off that easily ;)
I love your eqitation and your horse one small thing i saw was that you need to release the rains more. Its hard i used to have the same problem. Great job though

yes, exactly it doesnt matter whether or not she's riding in shorts bareback, its just not good to ride in shorts on saddle becuz it rubs.. guaranteed your horse isnt too tall so it wouldnt hurt to bad to fall off, but you seem like a great rider.. =)

I find bareback is easier, my horse has samll withers, so my saddle slides, and , the thing about having your heals down, you ahev them down to so you don' go cat a puling when your horse refueses right? I find when you are right on your horse, bareback, the more you ride the better your balance gets....and if you have good balance, you won't be falling off that easily ;)

lol omgeez good job :] i just started riding a horse named snazzy and me and her jump bareback all the time :] i think the highest i have jumped her bareback was about 3ft, i cant tell for sure cuz it was a fallen branch but eh, lolz but anywayz great job and have fun!!!

yes, exactly it doesnt matter whether or not she's riding in shorts bareback, its just not good to ride in shorts on saddle becuz it rubs.. guaranteed your horse isnt too tall so it wouldnt hurt to bad to fall off, but you seem like a great rider.. =)
