This the ultimate BAND. This is a hell of a performance. It's truly inspirational. You can feel the vibe. Even in a little auditorium. Such masters... When I listen to this song I wanna kick ass. I'm fired Up Right now...
U2 are still rocking. Thx for posting this video, because it really rocks. And Bono does really know how to include the audience. He is the best front man around, as u2 are the greatest band around, and IMHO willalways be!
This is such an awesome performance of BEAUTIFUL DAY. I love the excitement shown by the crowd when BONO signals for them to stand. Check out the guy with the blue shirt; he so happy.
I'm going to the two Giant's Stadium Shows 9/24-9/25. U2 is my band but MUSE is going to shock alot of people. They're really good. Feel lucky to have them both under one bill. Other than U2, MUSE is the headliner anywhere else. I can not wait.
not the worlds biggest U2 fan..but hell, awesome to see all 4 guys still rocking and a band that has seen so many fads come and go and they still rock..all original members!
been a U2 fan for 17 years, seen them live three times and it has always felt more like a Broadway show than a concert - there's no spontaneity - which makes it lack heart...it's strange, yet i still adore them...just not the new album...
yes i did watch the video - and my comment on the lack of spontaneity was more about their performances in general - they have been performing Streets live the same way since the joshua tree tour - it's boring because you know what's coming...as for this performance - it's nothing special to me and i dislike the ramones immensely - so the 'get the audience reaction' insertion of rock 'n' roll high school just irritates me - it ruins a good song.
Of all the things to say is boring, you choose the live version of Streets? There's no reason to change it because it fukken rocks every night. When I saw them perform it in Miami last tour, they couldn't start the next song because the crowd was so loud afterwards. I didn't think humans could be that loud. So keep playing Streets in the same ol' boring way, U2. It seems to be working.
this song always reminds me of flying to CA in 2001 - they must have played the video for it about 10 times during the trip...and again on the way back...
it always bugs me when he changes the lyrics to songs to try and get a reaction from the audience...don't need trash like rock n' roll high school in the middle of it...etc.
I think it's cool when he changes the lyrics to intreasts of the crowd. Sayinfg Red, White, and Blue was giving America, (what do the kids say today) its props, and all the other little changes were all cool, and done in great taste.
Too bad they played an old song. After Breathe, Magnificent and Crazy, I would have loved to hear No Line or Unknown Caller live. But hey, let's not bitch about it. Another great performance!

Only U2 can make a performance @ Letterman seem like a true kick ass concert. Amazing...

just a thought: this might have inspired Bon Jovi's Have A Nice Day. I'm losing respect for that band. U2 is starting to grow on me.

No spontaneity? Did you watch this video? Classic stuff. Nice tribute to The Ramones in there as well. :)

I love how they turned Letterman's little theater into an arena in a matter of seconds. Well done!
