  • how much is the software you use??

  • Your playing style reminds me a lot of Yiruma, which is definitely a good thing. Excellent, this and your other videos.

  • How much is this keyboard and is it good with many different sounds built in ????

  • @realjuvelive It has no sounds built in. It must be used through MIDI software.

  • Great!

  • are the keys sensitive ? like how you play them on a real piano

  • Comment removed

  • it's mine

  • Comment removed

  • you can read the description

  • wow that was amazing

  • i have the same setup too NI and 88es :) by the way, you're great!

  • Beautiful ! (man) :)

  • are the keys the same size as a real piano or are they a bit smaller?

  • I love your improv. I do some of my own. How long have y been playing?

  • i started when i was 5 but i quit lessons many years ago and i never did it seriously so this is my best though, and im gettin worse day after day with no practice.

  • The sounds are very nice!!

  • ok i didnt know that semi-weighted was like that. but i usually play on real piano and piano keys are a lot harder, so i dont really like semi-weighted. they are too soft for me.

    sorry for wrong answer.

  • oh its ok lol , its a matter of preference really semi-weighted or not i also prefer weighted , but i just wanted to make sure cause im buying it tomorrow. once again great playing i cant wait to try out Akoustik Piano :).

  • first off there semi weighted right? that cant be too bad , and omfg thats improvising ? your awesome man keep it up i love the song. its so soothing

  • they are not weighted.

  • 88-note velocity-sensitive, "semi-weighted action " got that off the web site

  • @Angelinthehell85 lol you dont know what you are talking about they are semi weighted

  • @Xend54 I see, but for me they are not weighted at all :D they're too soft

  • hey i have a m-audio keyboard and i want to know how to hook it up so i can hear when i play it .i installed the software and i reaaly dnt know how to work it i am wondering if u can help me ?

  • why did u buy it if you didn't know how to use it? there's something called "manuals". and you can read past comments for some infos. or maybe you can ask where you bought it.

  • what is the name of this music???

    thanks in advanced!

  • no name sorry! just an improvisation

  • this music is great~

    i like the part from 1:30 to 1:50 most~

I see you using the M-aduio prokeys 88es, i want to have my own keyboard. but i dont know which one is perfect for me? i am confuese between the 88sx and 88es, could you give me some advice? btw, i am a totally newbie to the piano!

  • hey i was wondering is this worth buying?

im getting it more because it has semi weighted keys are they any good? do they feel realistic etc ?

    thanks

  • m-audio 88es does not have weighted keys. if you want a real piano feeling or something like that, you're not going to like it. You have to buy a weighted-keys keyboard/piano, but even those things don't feel 100% realistic

  • I ordered an m-audio keystation 88es, but it did not arrive on the due date, perhaps monday.. but watching what you can do with it is so insperational. I bought it to learn piano.. and hope to be one day as quarter good as you... that would please me so much.

  • i only tried akoustik and ivory on my pc, and i think ivory is better. the only bad thing is that ivory doesn't have the sound of the sustain pedal, that makes the piano more real (IMO). then, i've downloaded the samples of qlpianos and i think it's even better than ivory. and even the quality is better because it has more dinamic level, 3 mics that you can mix as you like, a better sound sample rate... man, 270Gb vs 50Gb, there must be something better :D

  • Is this just something you came up with? It sounds awesome.

  • i know i'm talking silly when i say my NI Akoustik Piano sounds better than a real piano- but that happens to me.. lol

  • sure it is a matter of tastes. but it's also a matter of quality.

  • in one of your replies it says this keyboard doesnt generate sound is that the keystation 49e does that mean u have to put ur own sounds in to it please replie back i was thinking of getting one an this comes as new info to me

  • i mean that maudio keystation it's just a midi controller, it sends midi signals to something else. so if you want to ear sound you have to connect it to your pc and use a software like synthogy ivory or some. or maybe a synthesizer.

  • in my mind it doesn't seem to matter much what kind of controller used if you like the feel of it- but i have heard and played every kind of piano there is and i'm wondering if i'm the only one that thinks NI Akoustik Piano sounds better than anything else- and even than most acoustic pianos?

i found that Akoustik Piano is not real strong on the low end sound- but with the right EQ and amp and speakers it can be strong as well..

any comments to any of this?

  • no way. synthogy ivory is a lot better than akoustik piano. and QLPianos is even better than both of them.

    Sound libraries:

    -akoustik: 11Gb (4 pianos)

    -ivory: 50Gb (3 pianos)

    -qlpianos: 270Gb (3 pianos)

how can you say that akoustik is better?

however, a real piano would be the best of all.

  • yeah of course a real piano sounds the best.

QL Pianos are just different samples for the Native Instuments platform: third party

manufacturers (EAST WEST, ZERO-G, BEST SERVICE, GARRITAN). some sound better than others to some people but they all perform the same..

now ivory is a horse of a different color.

this actually PLAYS better- with a mack truck for a computer. but it doesn't sound as good as any of the NI samples. and their

idea is to mic the piano at a distance.

  • great sound...what vst plugins are you using? and with what software?

  • Read the description

  • thank you..i appreciate it :)

  • does anyone know if this keyboard can hook up to an amp without a Midi out cable? like with a standard amp jack chord through the port that says volume on it? or do u have to use midi out to get sound thru the the keyboard to an amp?

  • this keyboard has NOT a sound library loaded itself, it's just a midi controller. So you have to plug it to a pc or a synthesizer or something that generates a sound.

  • no no I realize that I'm asking if once you have it hooked up to a program to generate the sound, can u use a standard cable to reproduce the sound thru an amp or do u have to use a midi out cable?

  • a midi out??? if you generate a sound with a pc, you have a wave out. keyboard is a midi controller with which you control a vst that generate a sound on your soundcard's audio out. then you have a wave out. like when you're playing an mp3. you can play an mp3 on your pc and connect an amp to have more power. how could you use a midi cable?? understand?

  • what i mean is...on the back of the keyboard there are 3 ports...1 for sustain pedal, 1 that says volume, and a midi out one-5 pin. I am wondering if a standard cable would go in the volume one to connect to amp (example a cable from a guitar to an amp...that kind of cable) or do u have to use a midi cable to connect to an amp...thanks for ur patience i appreciate it lol

  • i understand that part...there r 3 ports on the keyboard...1 for sustain, 1 that says volume, and one that is midi out- 5 pin correct? my question is, can u hook up a cable for example the ones they use for guitars to amps, to the volume jack have it work? or do u need a midi out cable because some amps have midi-in ports to accept midi signals? thanks for ur patience lol

  • ok listen. you can not connect this keyboard to an amp !!!!!! because this keyboard does not generate any sounds. understand? then, "volume" port it's for a pedal like sustain. sustain is a on/off pedal, volume has a range (i dont know how to explain that in english sorry). you can plug a pedal to control the volume by feet... got it? if you want to connect an amp this is the way: keyboard-->pc or something else that generates sounds--> amp.

  • Got it now...thank you i appreciate that good lookin' out

  • I have no idea why I could hear my heart beating while listening to your song...

actually,it's been a long time since...

  • ucan downlaod Bechstein D 280 pluging

  • how do you connect the midi keyboard to MAGIX?I have it but idont know how to connect it?

  • MAGIX? keyboard is connected on PC via USB cable.

  • hey man could you tell me if this keyboard is any good ? lookin for somethin simple and plain to use with VST's. How good of qualitie are the modulator and pirch wheel ? and is it Cubase capable ? :p

    cheers!

  • nice playing..!!! I was wondering if anyone knew where i can get a case for this specific model

  • I dont have words!

    Awesome! =)

  • davvero molto bella!!!!!! congratulazioni!!

  • nice melodi...

  • you pley very very well. can you give us the sheet?

  • no sheet sorry

  • Thanks for posting this! I've been on the fence on purchasing an 88. A friend recommended this but I needed proof of how good it was. I'll probably get one now after hearing it.

Would you recommend purchasing a stand for it?

  • i bought the 61es M-AUDIO last week

it has semi-weighted keys i love it

hefty built too,but where can i buy diffrent

sounds for this board for like organ, motif

like sounds to fill it on cd rom? is there such a cd?

  • get fruity loops

  • yo poet

have you checked out that MAGIX software

it looks easy to run, have you heard of it

or fruity is the best right?

  • oh yeah, magix its easier, but FL has way more stuff, id say FL is the best, bro.

  • yes Fruity loops is bether than magix because with magix you are more limited. FL does however have a stronger learning curve ! if you would go for FL i would recooment the site warbeats . com ! also if you use FL for a bit you will see you want more and bether (because FL also is very basic) then i say go for cubase ! not the best version just a basic one , if you like midi , it wil stunn you ! (learning curve +1)

  • i'd reccomend Steinberg Grand 2 for piano sounds and Native Instruments B4II for...b4 sound xD

  • 4front TruePianos .../ or Ivory .. Galaxy II. ;)

    i have a keystation 88es and i use 4front TruePianos

  • How is the feel of this keyboard? Is it smooth?

  • does this keyboard have uilt in sustain atall? thankyou.

  • no, u have to buy it

  • Ok, thankyou very much =]

  • Are you using a sustain pedal or the sustain is emulated by Native software?

    Good playing.

  • sustain pedal is used!

  • Thanks, im thinking about buy this keyboard and a sustain pedal. Sounds good for the cost it has.

  • THIS keybord has NO sound. It's a midi controller. Sounds come out of your pc. So you can use the midi sound of your soundcard or you can install an expensive software like "akoustik piano" or "synthogy ivory" or even "quantum leap pianos" (the most expensive but the best sound i think).

  • Yes I know, now I have a Yamaha with just 49 keys so It would be nice to have 88 keys. I always play with Truepianos on my PC so it would be ok to use it with this keyboard. Thanks for your comment.

  • you're welcome man. stuff like truepiano is also good and absolutely cheaper. but if you want to learn i think its better some keyboard with weighted keys (dont know if its the right name). this keyboard has very soft keys and it's not so good. real piano's keyboard is harder to play but you can manage better the forte/piano. i hope you understand me

  • Yes I know what you mean. But hopefully the semi-weighted keys will be better than my old Yamaha 49 keys that doesnt has this :) (the keys now sounds always the same way when you push it). Possibly M-Audio will be my next step before buy in the future a better and real piano (or a digital quality one). But it would be ok as im still learning, isnt?.

  • sure. unless you're rich :-P

  • nice

  • Sounds good. Truepianos dot com is also a very good choice. Quick load time.

  • now i have Synthogy Ivory. It's really better than akoustik. 50Gb/3 pianos library. Very fast loading of sounds, more efficient. But i think the best is Quantum Leap Pianos: 270Gb of library for 3 pianos... awsome!

  • awesome playing.. very nice

  • bellissimo pezzo

  • Like it.

    Love the keyboard, too.

  • liked it. i wanna play like that :)

  • O yea by the way Incredible work! keep playin my friend

  • i have a keystation, they feel good, is just in the middle of plastic crap and a real good keys like yamaha clavinova or casio privia. that piano sounds great, i'm thinking on getting akoustik piano too. i'm using electrik piano and another virtual grand piano. ivory is great but its kinda heavy, i cant afford to use that much space, and also is expensive.

  • ivory is heavy for the space, but more efficient than akoustik at all! really fast loading libraries and so nice sound...

  • is that akoustik by native instruments?

  • what is this song called

  • it just havent got a name...

  • sounds fantastic!

  • what software are you using???

  • good...!!!

  • I know it says in the website that the ES88 is semi-weighted but what does that mean? Does it feel more like a piano or a plastic piece of shit?

  • more like plastic..

  • great music man.. lovefull...

  • nice man, sounds great!!

  • ya, im probably gonna be playing mostly synth.. some ppl complain about this controller's lack of expression, but it sounds pretty nice from this video! btw, nice song, how long have you been playing?

  • since i was 5 and now i was 21, but i quit studying long time ago, so im not good as i could. btw i tried another software: Ivory, and i thinks its better than akoustik. but this keyboard is not the best choice for a pianist.

  • wow i was planning on buying that keyboard, but i couldn't try it out anywhere... it sounds beautiful! thx to you, im gonna go buy it!

  • sounds depends of the software you use on your computer. In this video im using Akoustik piano (Native instruments). Keyboard itself doesnt make any sound.

  • great video. just have to ask one thing. i've read many reviews about this keyboard and many of them say that the velocity response of the keyboard seem almost random. is this true? or is it due to peoples inability to use the software properly?^^

  • yes, it is not the best choice for a pianist. you may have some difficulties to play exactly what you want to play. but u dont need much money to get it.

  • Hey Man! Thanx for this video! I just sold my M-Audio ProKeys 88 Premium for $500 and bought this little Midi Controller instead...it's much lighter...and easier to use with my Mac Book / LogicPro7 Software...thank you, your video was why I bought this. I realized that it could sound better...and it's cheaper!!! Now i'm into Electronica Music...haha...thanx man!

  • wow the keystation pro 88 is not a good keyboard to make trance techno music with. Im looking into buying a keystation pro 88 and ableton live and need to no what is a good keyboard to buy for like 700 dollars. So what is a very good choice of keyboard.

  • Really nice indeed. Sorry, but I cannot avoid asking, how you plugged the instrument to the computer? Midi-midi? To which soundcard? Is it always that low latency without droputs? Thank you very much! Sorry for the questions but I need awnsers of people who actually use it! :)

  • USB man! see the link in the description to find out more on the instrument

  • dude, the usb midi signal is no more than a mouses input, the latency problem has to do with your buffer settings in your music program. adjust it, but the lower you set it, the less room your CPU has to process the sound. if you turn it down, and don't use too many plugins, then you should get any latency, but you will need a lot of RAM, and an extra HD for the piano samples

  • That is really very nice dude, it's captivating. Wish I could improvise like that, check out my little effort on my channel.

  • yes!

  • Are you using a sustain pedal in that piece?

  • NICE! VERY PRETTY.

What sound module are you using? The tone is great too.

  • read the video description! u'll find keyboard model and software

  • I am impressed by your playing, and even more impressed by you trying to help people (person asking about the keyboard)

    Congrats

  • What's the name of this song?

  • ehm... no name yet -_-'

    you can choose maybe

  • Yes I understand you very well! Thank you very much for your help! :D I will have to start looking for a low budget piano lol Thank you once more! ;)

  • I've been checking out some reviews on the internet and they all come up the same... "great keyboard but very poor when it comes to emulate a real piano". Should I give up this keyboard and get more money to buy a better thing? What do you say? Best regards ;)

  • if u want to learn to play piano, best thing is to use a real piano. but if you cant buy it, i think you should buy a keyboard with with "weighted keys" i dont know how to say in english. this one doesnt have it. so if u use a "light" keyboard, when you move on a real piano u cant play anything because piano keys are very hard. and with a "light" keyboard u cant play the whole range of pianissimo-piano-forte-etc. i hope you understand my poor english.

  • Hi! That's a great song! I'm listening to it for several minutes now lool By the way, you said you play the piano since you were 5 years old, right? So I guess you've played on real things, real pianos... My thing here is: I want to learn to play the piano and I was planning to buy that same keyboard.

  • haha don't take it so seriously.. song is beautiful, but it has no "attitude".

  • Beautiful song and really amazing piano playing! Keep it up.

  • oh they are keys, not pads.. im a fuckin' stupid moron..

  • I've been playing piano since I was 5 years old and your keep your fingers with the wrong way.. imagine balls in your hands and sit straight and put your hands more forward.. fingers should be almost always between or over those black pad?s(I don't know what's that in Eng).. but nice song.. ;D

  • i've been playing piano since i was 5 y old too.

  • i didnt ask anyone if i play the right way or not. title is "impro with keyboard" not "need a piano teacher". you like the song? just say you like it. do not post your fucking comments starting like "hi, i'm a maestro and you are wrong". Nobody asked you.

  • Nice. I was thinking of getting this exact setup to learn to play the keys (i play guitar), and now i can see/hear it in action., seems like a winner :)

  • how do you like the Native Instruments Akoustik Piano software? does it sound realistic? because im debating between that and a portable grand by yamaha

  • don't know yamaha software. I like pretty much akoustik piano because its very realistic and you have 4 different piano. you can add the sound of keystroke and pedal up and down, armonic and reverb like a real piano when you use the sustain pedal etc.. so i cant tell you which is the best between yamaha and native instrument, but i can tell you that akoustik piano its a valid simulation.

  • wow son

    !

  • are you an actual pianoplayer? I'm curieus what you think of the m-audio keystation....

  • i love it.. i alsop have the same keyboard ... plz tell me how much this software is so i can use this piano sound .. it sounds wonderful
