You've heard the song "I've Written a Letter to Daddy" (don't laugh). Forget about the words - it's the piano playing I like in the movie "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane." The music is beautiful, just like "Amarouse." I hope it's not too simple for you, but I would appreciate it if you would please play this number and get it posted on YouTube.

Could you call Adam's attention to my request - I don't think he reads these notes. Thanks a lot.
amazing. i've been looking for a good piano recording of Amoreuse for a movie production that i'm doing and i'm wondering if i can get permission to use this recording. it's very much appreciated.
You need to contact the performer first. AdamSwanson dot c om. I think this performance might already be on deck for appearing in a film. Adam can probably let you know.
I am curious about that sly smile. Were you just slightly embarrased over little mistakes? As far as I'm concerned, you did fine with this waltz. And a smile is always welcome.
One thing about Adam, by playing Amoureuse in public, it is safe to say he is no musical stuffed shirt. LOL He even tries to play it with a straight face.. The thought crossed my mind, tho, that he may be saving Amoureuse for an encore for a hateful audience. Or, is this piece back in vogue along with ragtime? It was cut as a Stoddard-Ampico roll and I wish I had a number of copies back from when I collected piano rolls. I'll have to admit it sounds better than rap.
I just noticed what looks like one of the original 1900 editions of the sheet music for sale on e-bay. There also seem to be a number of 78s around of the Souza Band playing the piece bearing dates between 1912 and 1916.

That is magnificent! It is so refreshing to hear such beautiful music again, played with such expression.. You make it look so easy to play.

Thanks for the information. I have some Sousa '78's but had no idea he ever had anything to do with the piece.
