I have Paul Simonon's Ampeg head and bass cabinets and matching hot pink Clash road cases they bought from Mannys NYC that might be from this and the US tour shows...He sold it to me when he lived in LA while he was in Havana 3AM....
They weren;t KILLER although JOE hit a German geezer back in 78...cos' the german crew didn't want the CLASH to play their anarcho-anthems...and when they did...those guys just turned vilent and JOE hit one with his telecaster and very nearly KILLED him ! apart from that PAUL killed pigeons ...bastard! ahahah
He's a world renown artist these days as well. His stuff is good! He has a series of his work which are bull fighting scenes. I don't know why he dug that but their awesome. All of them guys in the Clash were just killer! I was really saddened when the split up. Sad the death of Joe Strummer at the young age of 56.
He was so cool. Cracked open a big sliding door, lit one up, then we gathered. I just want to add, Damon Albarn was also there, both were so modest, almost shy, appreciative - real people. One of my favourite moments!
