  • I've been a subscriber for some time but It seems I've missed this one.

Now it's my favourite. Going to rewatch the series for the fifth time soon, but this time not alone^^

  • Love your choice of Trailerhead music!

  • I hate spambots.

  • And yet another awesomely incredible video from Freelancer. At first I didn't know you made this and I was watching & listening to it. I noticed the timing, the footage, the editing..all of it, and I thought to myself " wow, this person could give Freelancer a run for her money "..I looked down to see who the video was by and there was your name ..lol..that was awesome.

Your videos are awesome, the music you choose..INTENSELY AWESOME !!!..I LOVE THAT !!..

  • @harrison359 lol thanks buddy. Funny you should comment, for the first time in about a year I actually felt like making a BSG vid to X Ray Dog's "Final Hour" and I even tried, but everytime I try to load some BSG footage into my editor it crashes and I don't have the patience to burn it all again. Shame, that song and BSG would have mashed great. As it is, I'm sure I'll still use ot for either Fringe or Lost Girl, not the same thou. What shows u watching these days?

  • @freelancerxo02 , I still watch my BSG dvd's and once in a while I'll check out a new show if Bear McCreary has done the score. I was watching Caprica and I was enjoying it. Even though it was taking some time to build up the story, I liked it. It would have been interesting to see a few more seasons of it

  • Fantastic trailer, well done.

What a series, god I miss it so much.

  • dammm

  • Wow, it's a fantastic video!

  • Brought tears to my eyes... great job ^_^

  • holy shit that was like so badass cylons wish they had skills like that

  • I think this was awesome. Great job on the editing. The timing with the music was perfect!

  • Thanks for the nice comment :D

  • Awesome clip! Best BSG clip I've seen! I hope your talent can be used in the film industry! Great job! I'll hope for more...

  • Thank you for the kudos, glad you enjoyed it.

  • Are you planning on doing these with Caprica?

You are just one bad ass editor dude!

  • Thanks a lot, I think I just replied to another comment of yours saying I didn't enjoy Caprica. You never know, it could come good...I didn't get into BSG until s2. For now I'm just planning on vidding things like Fringe, Legend of the Seeker, Rush and every now and then I'll churn out a new BSG one to keep the subbies happy ;)

  • Quite impressive. Easy 5 stars. :)

I have two questions, if you don't mind:

    1) What editing software did you use? For the video and the audio-ripping and such?

    2) What is the name of the songs? They sound very familiar, but I am afraid I fail to remember.

  • Wow! Excellent! I love how you edit in quotes from the show.

  • Thanks, I think having words sometimes brings a bit more drama to the vid :D

  • OMG!!!!!!! this is sooooooo good!

  • Thank you :)

  • what are these songs called?

  • woow! O.O

  • Thanks :)

  • This is very good!

  • 5 stars as usuall , your work is in its own league.

( would love to see what you could do with "The wire", tons of good moments there. )

  • Hey snokelore, sorry it took my so long to reply. Thanks for your comment :D

Never seen the wire, but I have started watching Dark Blue (not quite as dark and gritty) - you watched it yet?

  • 5 Frakin stars in my book. But I must know what the music is? its not Bear is it?

  • Thanks :) No it's not bear, there are two songs in this vid. First is "Epicon" and then "Serenata" both by Immediate Music.

  • Cracking video, the music is excellent. No idea where it's from, mind, but it fits so well. Bravo, sir.

  • What happened to the 5 minute Battlestar vid that was edited to Feel so numb? I love that video

  • You truly are an AMAZING editor, I love your Battlestar Galactica videos the most.

  • Thanks for the big compliment BlackDragon!

  • is Legend of the Seeker any good ?? in on sci-fi or it sy-fy lol

  • Yeah, it's brilliant. Has to be one of my top 10 shows...if you ever liked LOTR, Xena, Hercules, 300, etc. then you're bound to like this.

  • Once again a great video! You've really got some great editing skills!

And I'd loooove to see some Legend of the Seeker vids from you! :D

  • Hi Sprock, I think LOTS starts up in a couple of weeks...give it a month or two and I'm sure I'll take a crack at it.

  • Thats the best Amateur video on Youtube. The music and scenes you've picked are ace. I have converted two sceptical friends to watch Battlestar Galactica by using this video :-)

  • Yes, now I shall do the same, lol...great work Freelancer!

  • That's great to hear, thanks :D

  • That was the best video that i have ever seeing in my life!!! Well done mate!!!

    Good work!!

  • Hi, thanks for the really nice comment. Glad you enjoyed it :)

  • please, name of the first song :)

  • Hi, first song is called "Epicon (Hybrid)" and it's by Immediate Music.

  • Awesome video. Where can I find the font you used?

  • Hi, font is "Bankgothic" and I found it on one of these free font sites, but can't recall which - try googling it.

  • perdition, yes. But there is also redemption.

  • SPEAKING OF WAR ATROCITIES: Anyone (besides me) notice that each side of the Cylon vs Colonials war basically amounted to attempted genocide on both sides? And that Admiral Helena Cain was one of the biggest war criminals ever?

    Once again, Freelancer rocks!

  • Absolutely, Cain got off far to lightly with just a bullet in the head (and the rest of the crew.) Also I was watching the stand off between Galactica and Pegasus and I reakon Galactica WOULD have won since Pegasus seemed to be armed only with AAA and fixed forward railguns. If Adama had kept out of straight in front Galacticas dorsal cannons could have pounded Pegasus to scrap.

  • your forgetting that the AAA guns could be used for heavy artillery, there the asme as weve seen on galacticas top hull. The forward cannons are a lot more powerfull.

  • Pegasus could have taken on three Galacticas.

This was a modern ship - far two powerful for old Galactica.

It had far more Vipers and Marines onboard.

The crew was seasoned - remember the episode when the pilots of both ships discuss the number of "kills" on the wings of Pegasus pilots.

  • It had about the same amount of vipers, actually. A few more at most. Don't forget about how many of them Pegasus lost before it met up with the fleet. And the crew of Galactica had just as much under their belts to make them 'seasoned' as the Pegasus crew did. You want to talk about experience then think about Adama's history. He had been a soldier since Cain was a child. I'm not saying Galactica would have won, but you can bet your ass Adama would know exactly where Pegasus' weak spots were.

  • 2 Galactica's could take her on on at least equal terms from what I've read. And one bad hing about Pegasus was, even though she has 2x guns as Galactica, they're in a trench on each side of the ship, so she can only brign half them to bear at any one time. Galactica's are turret mounted, so she can bring them all to bear...

  • omg you completely awesome!

  • Totally great! Editing and music. Cheers!

  • well done from the crew of the pegasus

  • That was FANTASTIC!!! Thank you so much!!! I love how you edit and your choice of music is BRILLIANT!!! You haver an awesome talent!!! Thanks for making all your vids XD

  • Thanks for dropping such a nice comment, always makes me smile:)

  • nice editing all your videos are so awesome :)

  • Cheers melmo, I just hope some of my BSG followers stick with me now BSG has ended and I'm mainly going to be doing Grey's Anatomy videos. I will still drop the odd BSG vid into the mix though.

  • Frakking love your videos freenlancer. When I watched Fates and how you used 'Preliator' from Globus, I got their whole album, phenomenal use of 'Orchard of Mines,' one of my favorites!

  • Thanks. I toiled with whether to use the version with lyrics that they have on their album, but in the end I thought I'd go with the pure version as it sounds a little more epic and allowed me to use voice overs.

  • you are an amazing video editor. every video of yours that i watch, i get goosebumps

  • Hey thanks for letting me know. Always nice to read comments like yours.

  • Great. The best Bsg video.

"Get your gun and bring the cat in"

    Echaré de menos esta serie...

  • Thanks for dropping a cool comment, appreciate it :)

  • You are without any doubt the best Bsg video maker!

hahah only a few days ago I thought I had fond the best bsg video but now I fond 2 who are 1000 times better! Love you!

  • Thanks, that's really high praise. I hope you like Grey's Anatomy too, I'm uploading a video on that as I type. If you don't you shouldn't have to wait long for the next BSG video :)

  • What's the music?

  • Brilliant....

  • Too bad my comp can't handle HD... (no smooth running video), but I still totaly got addicted to BSG again, only season 4 isn't out yet where I live... (Yea, I know, America is already finished and I'm still stuck at the cliffhanger of season 3...)

  • Excellent video from you as always man....Although "When Fates Collide" will remain as the best video you have created (maybe its because of that amazing song)..this is still a brilliant vid

    awaiting your "Starbuck Tribute"

  • Hey Hyro, I'm interested...now you've seed 4 seasons as well, do you still think When Fates Collide was the best?

I agree with you that the music in that video will be difficult to top, if it's even possible. I'm hoping I can still put together a package that's better though...it's very disheartening to think that your best work is behind you.

  • well..its all about emotion for me.. When I first watched Fates..I had Goosebumps, I had the feeling of the hair rising on top of my neck..and that song just blends perfectly with the vid...Action, emotion, pain, epic battles & greatness ..all mixed perfectly with that amazing song..it was perfection for me

so every other video u make will be judged by "Fates.." standard I think..not only by me..but by many as well

BTW so looking forward to your Starbuck vid. Lets see if u can top Fates :)

  • so sad we are

that BSG is at the end

  • As am old musician I am totally amazed by the quality of so many of your vids. (music selection + video). You and all the other young people who have created a "totally new art" form are to be praised. I have enjoyed them all. Thank you.

  • Awesome as always!

  • Another amazing video!

  • Thanks, I'm on a roll...just released another. I reckon I'll have a third out in June.

  • 5 star! Another brilliant video!

  • great video! no,no,no!! F....n great video!!!

  • Great video! What's your day job? :)What's the music? I particularly like the music from the second half....great job editing vocals in between scene changes

  • Freelancer, your videos are going to kill me.

It is quite hard to survive three-four minutes without breathing.

  • lol, I'll take that as a compliment ;)

  • Awesome as usual Freelancer. Thanks for sharing!

  • god this video is just so damn good

  • Thanks dude :)

  • really nice job. appreciate all the work that went into the final product. thanks

  • so say we all

    so say we all

  • In 20 or 30 years I hope they make a new Battlestar again. I will be looking for you then. That would be cool. :-)

  • Hey freelancerxo02! Really good to see you carrying on the legacy! I still go back and watch episodes, and will be watching Caprica this weekend with the same friends who would get together for every episode every week.

Fantastic job, several of our group watch your videos. It is an honor to call you friend!

    SO SAY WE ALL!

  • Hey good to know I'm not the only one sticking with tradition...hope you guys enjoy Caprica as much as BSG.

I'm not sold on Caprica unfortunately, but time may change that.

  • You see, I was extremely skeptical going in but was happily surprised. It does what every good prequel does: amplify the original storyline. When Joe Adama revealed the history of the Adama name to little William I got goosebumps. It reminds me of the Godfather meets Bladerunner set in BSGverse...which is awesomeness. I also hope this leads to another spinoff about young Husker fighting aboard Galactica in the First Cylon War.

  • So, Ive read couple times both lyrics and... Silence has better text, but my ears are after 24. I also listened to Silence Delerium feat Sarah McLachlan version, long time ago I really liked Fear by Sarah McLachlan, but now hmm... You will think of something ;)

  • Hi, I've had McLachlan's "Fear" on my "make a video to" list for years, but I've never actually found a place to use it, but it's a wonderful song. I'm in the same place as you on this, "Silence" is a pefect fit for lyrics, but "24" is a song I love to make vids to. Not sure how I'll work it since technically she kinda died twice, but with the finale version being the "24" hours part. I'm just going to make a vid fun and emotional to watch rather than worry about matching the lyrics exactly.

  • About that scene order - my complaint has not been about nonlinear story configuration. I just think it is better to start with smaller, calmer things and gradually build tension - and here, this order (combined with music change) is somewhat unsettled.

Don't have much time now, so only one thing about Starbuck's vid - music choice is hard, both tunes are magnificent, dunno whats better for a story of an angel.

  • Oh and can I say, please use 24 as the song for the Starbuck video ur doing. That song is just awesome. I like Silence too, but 24 would be better.

  • I really love your videos, I've been critical in the past myself, but I don't agree with Wez's comment about the music - it does flow.

That's 3 videos now u've done now that I adore, the fates one obviously, Mea Culpa and this one. Please do more! Also I vote for Legend of the Seeker.

  • Excellent job .. keep up the superb work, I am a big fan of you LOL .....

  • Cheers dude, that means a lot :)

  • Honestly, all you're vids frakking rock FL! I just finished watching Caprica and when Sharon speaks to Adama a scene from Caprica really hit home. This video, even if the scenes aren't ordered (who cares?), really packs a punch. It shows what the humans and cyclons went through, what atrocities, as you said, both committed and how they both dealt with the war. Great job.

  • Thanks TIS, good to see you about the place :D

  • Oh and btw. First Rule of Magic is quite good story, but with every next book it gets closer to the bottom, its sadly it hits it with Phantom trilogy, so really, I cant really imagine how one could make good tv series from it. So - Fringe!

  • Honestly, it's not your best vid, When the Fate Collides is way better than this one as are few others from the past. Scene selection and order could be better, change of music in the middle destroys all atmosphere from the first part of the movie and talking parts just don't fit with music background. Nevertheless it is still good movie (4 score from me) and I hope you will do some more of this stuff in the future and maybe... Caprica? As for now, its not much, but the show seems promising.

  • Hey Wezyreczek, It's always good to get critical feedback. I've changed many things about my videos following people's inputs. It's a shame the first song wasn't longer, had it been, I would have used one song for the video. I also acknowledge the quotes at the end could have been better and further apart, you get a flurry of quotes at the last minute. My only one challenge to your feedback is....see second comment....

  • My only one challenge to your feedback is the idea that scenes must be linear, order of scenes can be all over the place- this is what sets music videos apart from a TV show. You don't just want to rejurgitate what you've already seen. I won't be putting scenes in the order they appeared on TV in any of my vids; it's boring if you do imo.

As for Craprica, never say never, but I don't like it so no vids from me on that. That may of course, but I'll count your vote for Fringe ;)

  • What I always found intriguing in BSG is the screenwriters approach at "virtue ethics" and trying to evaluate the concept of lesser evil. Genocide, fratricide, mutany, betrayal,...etc. hardly the average dinner table conversations, yet in the backdrop of our tumultous and uncertain existence, seemed perversely normal.

The key quote as you've aptly highlighted, is "Does humanity have a reason for surviving?"

  • Are we so special in being God's favourite ape, that we are granted exception to natural law? As it is said, the "road to hell is paved with good intentions." What I liked about this video is that you see decisions that were done for expedience, pettyness, love, hatred, and even altruism, but many cases resulting in disaster.

All our experience with history should teach us, when we look back, how badly human wisdom is betrayed when it relies on itself- Martin Luther

  • Bravo et merci pour tes vidéos.

  • Nice work freelancer, I always look forward to your latest BSG video.

Have you ever come across Mozart's Requiem or the Last of the Mohican's soundtrack?

  • Thanks. I just went and checked out the music you suggested...Last of the Mohican's soundtrack has potential. Don't be surprised if you hear some of that in a video if mine in the future.

  • That would be excellent!

As for the Starbuck video I think "Silence" by Delerium really matches the life of Starbuck....the lyrics and haunting music also compliment Starbuck's tale in S4 of BSG. 'Till she crys no more', 'Heaven holds a sense of wonder'...fits so well.

  • That is one of the best battlestar videos I have seen. You have a real talent.

  • Thanks, glad you liked it :)

  • My God, Freelancer you have created something of incalculable beauty. I applaud you! and your efforts.

  • That's a really nice thing to say Bob, thanks dude ツ

  • Truly remarkable - Just what i've come to expect from you Freelancer. Its the type of video that if watched in a dark room, on full screen HD, with a decent set of speakers, will give you goosebumps. Its something you and Immediate music have in common :) Kudos to you,

  • Hey Tokath, long time no see. Thanks for stopping by and dropping a nice comment.

  • finally, a new freelancer vid! I thought I would never have to go through a long hiatus involving BSG again, haha. Great job, though. Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks buddy

  • I was woundering when you will bring out your next vid after the series finale. It's just great, you must have put much effort in this. 5/5

  • This video takes some fraking long time toload, but it's worth it ;)

    Once again, great video ^^

  • Fantastic! Great to see another vid from you. The action and the characters just spot on!

I sure hope you do the Kara/Delerium/ Silence one cause that is such an awesome song.

  • Thanks for commenting and subbing :) Nice to see you here from the Sci-fi forums.

  • i love it!

    ^_^

  • I think you should certainly continue with the BSG videos! You have a wonderful way of expressing different themes!

  • Nice to see you making vids again! Great job.

    ~Hero

  • you made me miss the show so much! Awesome look back! can't wait to see if you do more!

  • Thanks smcki. I'll definately do at least one more, been wanting to do a Starbuck video to Jem's "24" for years, so will knock that out next.

  • Wow...that was amazing. Very visceral and intense, and even when focusing on action you managed to incorporate characters and story. I don't know how you do it.

  • Cheers buddy for checking it out and all I'll say is 3 cheers for transition effect :D

  • Outstanding. You are byfar the best bsg muisc video maker on this site.

    Stunning..

  • That's very high priase, thanks saitoghost.

  • That was frakking awesome. One of the best BSG videos i've ever seen, and possibly your greatest work. This is amazing, words fail me.

  • Hey that's really nice of you to say, thanks.

  • Great video as always. I'd love to see more BSG vids from you, and I put my vote for you doing Fringe.

  • Thanks, and 1 for Fringe counted. Glad it got a second season :)

  • Wow. Excellent video as always.

I just wanted to say how much I like your videos. The music is great and the editing is amazing.

I like how this vid explores the emotional side of things. Nice choice of quotes to highlight the emotion. Great mix of music for the second half. ("Orchards of Mines"?)

    ..

One of my favourite BSG vids.

  • Many thanks. Oh and close on the song choice - the second song is actually "Serenata" by Immediate Music. Orchards of Mines is based on Serenata and produced by Globus, who I believe are Immediate Music's alter ego. Only reason I didn't use Orchards of Mines was the guy singing at the end ruins the mood lol.
