How would you compare this to the Pork Pie Curly Maple 14x7 snare? Because for Christmas i got the Pork Pie Curly Maple and i absolutely love it! But this is the same price on guitarcenters website........
@idog2rs I was between the two when trying it out at guitarcenter. But I ended up liking the Patina more because it had a lower/fatter ring to it than the maple.
i have many high end snare and other then my brady jarrah block snare 7 x 13 that i own i like this one... the brady is definatley on another level but i dont always gig it out for obvious reasons.. when i dont take out the brady i reach for the pork pie and it sounds great.... great body and cuts live very nicely its not that anoying sound of a snare that i often hear from other drummers in the live setting this snare has its own signature sound and its well balanced...
I own several snare drums and I always seem to reach for this one first. It's got a special mojo that even my most expensive drums just don't have. Brass tube lugs on a brass shell...it just sings! Worth every penny...and it's not many pennies.
@hubbytweaked they are $299 new but Guitar Center has some used for $199..I have been eyeballing one for my custom Pork Pies for a while now..I really like this snare drum
@ginnorulezd00d YES! i just got this snare and its amazingly punchy and fat when tuned low/medium. i got a remo head on it and havent even tried it with an evens yet. Its very loud and very sensitive.
This snare is VERY LOUUD!!! I borrowed my friends for a show and I can't wait to play it live tomorrow night. Very adjustable, sweet attack spots...this video does it lots of justice. I wish I had one for myself! @sushiquad you should get one if you are looking to buy. cant go wrong

What dampener did you put on the drum? I've never seen a metal piece you clip on before.

@TheChaanMan I disagree, it does sound nice, but in my opinion, Ludwig makes the best sounding drums....all around!

How is the snare tuned in this video?

Does this snare sound good when tuned medium low?
ginnorulezd00d 1 year ago
This drum is very versatile. I specially like it when tuned low. It doesen't have a lot of "ring" only some light overtones - it really gets fat.

@drumcentercologne How does it sound when tuned high?
