Sorry, I'm glad you did this, but this is just SOOOOOO cheap - but, well, you DID, technically, keep true to your word (*grumble, grumbel* cheap)... :-)
I don't know what it is about your videos, but every time I get stuck it's like all I have to do is wait for you to catch back up, and then I breeze right through it.
I played ahead a bit in War in Kryta, then got stuck at Battle for LA, and nothing would do that I didn't wipe every friggin' time. I was stuck for just over 2 weeks! Then I watched your play through, and zwoop! Got it in one!
Your videos are like some kind of weird security blanket or a placebo or something!
Personnally I don't care much about pvp, but they intend for competitive pvp to be an esport and things like that so I think they thought things through for it to be entertaining and maybe have some miraculous come back even though it might be a rare event. I'm sure we will be able to see such things.
ps : messed up in copy/paste, forgot this sentence : "We were able to come back and won 500 to 499, and a lot of that was the Mesmer bouncing around and creating chaos"
What left me hyped about PVP whas when someoneconvention mentioned a map we you can blow up a dam and flod part of the map, making underwater combat an essential part of PVP. Man it would be amazing to see something like this!
Well now it's February and you can break your resolution :P my main beef is the scoring system in PvP, once one team gets ahead its basically over because there is almost no way to stop them scoring because if it's any sort of contest you'll never be able to get all 3 capture points. They should have the score only rise when you control 2 of the points, meaning you could contest the middle or try to sneak around the back and put more emphasis on kills.
Well I would respond you with a quote from jonathan sharp in the GWI interview : "One of the most amazing matches, that I’ve had, was I was actually playing as my Mesmer and we were down 300 to 480; It was just not looking good. So I called out “Stall, stall, stall!” which just meant, “stop all the control points and don’t die”, because we didn’t want them to get anymore points.
It actually came down to us stopping all the 3 control points at 499, and we were at 300.
@kgichi Yeah and then what? Manage to keep all three neutral or yours for the rest of the match? I mean I will definitely save total judgment until I see some proper matches, but if the score is 470|439 then the team who is 470 is likely to win because they only need to hold 1 point and not die while the other team can hold 2 for the rest of the match and still lose. It doesn't seem possible to turn it around quickly enough to make matches exciting past a certain point imo
People thought they would be fighting me at a certain point but those were just my illusions. Then they would kill those and I would be back capping another point.I was using portals and running around taking two different points at once; bouncing back and forth between them creating a lot of chaos.I couldn’t stand there and take it like the other classes can, like the Warrior or a Guardian; the Mesmer is not nearly as strong, but creating all that chaos allowed us to come back in the game
@Drewxor I played a lot (A LOT) of Arathi Basin in WoW and I saw it happening! You get your teams shit together and take over the points and you defend like there's no tomorrow and you still can win :D It had five capture points, though. I loved it. Until they ruined PvP with their special stats :/
@UnnaRainchaser Yeah see I think 5 points would be an improvement as well, hopefully it works out, I mean I'm sure it will come up in the testing if it's no good. But if they're going to try and seriously make it an eSport they really need to tweak it to perfection :)
Good job sticking to what you said! Alot of ppl would just skip 1 day here and there. Earlier today i was listening to some podcasts by Guild Wars insiders abot GW2 and i came across one with none other than Ree Soesbee where she went on to talk about alot of the story, the Third book, "hidden" lore in the game and much more, and I was just wondering if you have had time/will to listen to it. Really cool that they intend to have a bit more lore stuff "hidden" in the game.

Maybe you should run my generic starburst build... It's not like you'll even use it in hearts of the north, so there's no excuse! ... N' stuff.

@Drewxor Still january for 15minites more for me!
I'm not sure i've seen enough to know that thats a legit problem in PvP yet - saw some amazing comebacks at gamescom, but yeah. Could be an issue.
