  • awesome upload. thanks!

  • This is too Good.Hats of to mister Haggardstrøm

  • Left Phila. Pa. to Nashville in 75, stopped at Boots Randolf at printers alley, then on to POSSUM HOLLER that had the best band and met Don Young there, he did a few Jones songs for us

  • @MrColt45s you were in the band?

  • in his prime great stuff

  • and still the king of country

  • This video was made at THE Possum Holler in printers alley in Nashville,TN, I know because I spent weekends there with my dad, Gary Boggs and 6 guys who I consider my uncles , great memories

  • Gary Boggs- steel guitar, Jimmy Peppers-frontman/accoustic, Ernie Rowell-bass, Clyde Phillips- lead, Zeke Dawson -fiddle, Walt Cunningham-piano, Ralph Land- drums

  • ok let's see I believe this video is from the possum holler in printers' alley. I could be wrong about the building

  • ok the named changed but the building is the same building in printers alley. let's do a google check e.g. was the western room possum hollar at one time?

  • possum holler was only in texas

  • George, or his business, had Possum Hollers in several other states that I know of. I was in a band that played the grand opening of one in York, SC, back around this same time period, opening for George. We also played another one in Harrisburg IL, if I remember right.

  • That is not Elvis Costello singing back-up, and possun holler was in downtown nashville.

  • that is jimmy peppers singing back-up

  • I love vintage George. Thanks for posting

  • Who is that singing backup?

  • That's Alvis Costello doing backup

  • thank you so much for this video. this is about the time i met george and the band in texas. i hate that we didn't see ralph but so thrilled to see zack, ernie, clyde and gary. memories.....i did not know that gary passed away...so sorry to hear that, he was a very sweet and talented man.

  • Who is that on the pedal steel???

  • After some investigations I will say that it´s probably the late Gary Boggs

    /Hans

  • Sonny curtis?

  • Gary Boggs on his Sho~Bud. His son, Billy, leads the band Southern Mix who are the house band this year at Smiley's in South Charleston, WV.

  • This is such an awesome video. It is one of my favorites ever. Thank you for posting this gem.

  • This is at "The Western Room"? i played some music there between when Goerge had it and they turned it Karoake. Yep heard some stories

  • no, not at the western room, in the 70's george owned a bar in nashville called "Possum holler".

  • I thought Possum Holler was on his ranch in east Texas.

  • Thanks for this one.

  • The song is "I Just don't Give a Damn". It's a song George himself wrote about Tammy, just after they divorced. I wish someone could correct the speed of the music. It really is a great video, there isn't many recordings of Nashville's famous Possum Holler out there.

Thanks again for this great video!!

  • I really enjoyed this one. It is the first time I have seen George sing this song. His Daughter now sings it all the time, Georgette. I treasure any posting on The possum. Thanks. I added it to my favs too.

  • thanks for unearthing this! i had never seen George sing this particular song on TV and the crowd reaction was just as I thought it would be, clapping and cheering during the song's title. a wonderful song, though under-rated.

  • Thank you for uploading this one.

    FANTASTIC VIDEO !!!
