i got a 1969 Lincoln 460 (365 hp stock) in my coupe. I put a F350 bell housing on it and bolted on a top loader 4spd. the mtr came out of a 6500lb car...my coupe will way around 2400lbs...I think mine will go pretty good too... love yours awesome..

I have never understood why they do that. I have owned many Ford performance vehicles and have clean the clocks of many chevys and mopars. Currently my two classic Fords are powered by a 429 CJ and a 429 Police Interceptor and there is nothing around that can touch them. Damn awesome engines!

You have to remember that these engines were purposley underrated by Ford Motor Company to keep insurance companies at bay, and of course your rates down. Wikipiedia is giving you Ford's "official" H.P. ratings.

I owned a 70 SCJ drag pack, top loader, 430 Detroit locker Torino. I had it blue printed and balanced. Your amazing burn out brings back a lot of good memories. I got a ton of attention from that car. Congratulations you have a very excellent car! Lucky You!
