well, actually, no, you can't protect and shelter your kids from everything, and it's not healthy at all to do that. but i do beleive they shouldn't hear a swear until they're much older. eventually she'll start saying them at age 2 if she keeps listening to this.
Sheltering kids IS healthy. They do not have the maturity or skills to survive in the adult world, which is why they NEED to be taken care of and sheltered until they are prepared, developmentally, to participate in real world.

I understand what you're saying, but introducing them to the harsh realities of life early on is not the way to get them ready for it. That's like throwing them in the deep end instead of teaching them how to kick in the shallow end first. When they are little, they aren't ready for it yet, so we need to shelter them until they gradually grow into an adult who is ready to survive. Baby steps...
