@yorkiedog1409 My first suggestion is to get a look at the parents. What do they look like? How old are they? If they are at least 2 years old, their coats should be where they are going to be color wise. Yorkie puppies change coat color(s) quite a bit till they reach adult hood. Sometimes you won't even recognize them. Has the breeder had other litters of the same breeding? Ask to contact those owners. What type of coat are you looking for? A steel blue coat is the standard for Yorkies.

Good question. Unfortunately it isn't so black and (tan) white. Sorry for the pun. Color changing has a lot to do with pedigree. Some dogs stay black, some turn to a steel blue, some turn from dark to a silver color. Do you know your breeder? That would be the best way to know for sure. Did you see your puppy's parents when purchasing? Did you visit the breeders home before purchasing? At one, their color is usually set, but there is no rule to this either. I wish I could help more.
I have a yorkie puppy, had him since christmas 2009, he is black and tan as all yorkie pups are, but my question is at what age does a yorkie change colour? and does all yorkie heads and feet go gold and back goes silvery blue, but at what age can i expect this?
I don't do mine like that. Because I show my Yorkie in agility, I keep his coat much shorter and trim his whole ear with clippers, then use the clippers to neaten the edge by turning them parallel to the edge of the ear and clipping the hair. Gives a nice straight edge.
Wait... trimming the fur or the ear?!!
