Thanks for the video. In public discourse the 1% negatives about Islam are overblown using hyperbole, yet credit is never given to Islam for the 99% good in practice or theory. There needs to be more balance in making such comparisons if one wants to be objective. Not to mention knowing the real facts.

@kizzume Firstly, Islamic nations that apply sharee'ah are non-existent (unfortunately) and rather apply a cultural based form of government (such as afghan, sudan, etc). Islam never encourages one to go against science or deny it as did ancient Christianity, rather Islam embraces it and much of the discoveries or reintroduction to science in Europe was brought via northern Spain (Andalus)

@kizzume The theory of evolution is just that, a theory. There are scientists who has disagreed with it as well, does that make them less qualified?

The argument against practicing homosexuality is similar to that of adultery or fornication, even if fed by natural desires, it is counter productive to a proper social structure and considered sinful. Take for example a bisexual, compare him/her to a adulterer, the desire for "more" or "others" doesn't justify the act.

With the other issue--You want to declare what is "proper social structure" just like Christians often do but in an even more strict manner. You can't just have your own social structure and let others have theirs.

When one's natural desires clash with what is taught as the norm, and those desires don't hurt anyone, one's feeling about their purpose in life is going to be dramatically different from someone whose desires ARE the norm.

But of course, that part is never mentioned on the news, since the media is Islamphobic. My advice to you is to get up from your TV screen and go and meet real-life muslims and make your judgements on Islam based on objective reliable sources not from other people's opinions.

@sweetsoulsista Those things are part of Sharia law, which is based on the Quran. It tells what punishments should be for what crime. There are passages similar in the Bible, but Christians toss those things out. In Islamic countries, they do not toss those things out.

@kizzume Those countries do not follow the shariah in its entirety. In fact there is not one single country in the world that follows the Shariah as a whole. The Quran is only used a guideline for laws just like the laws of the West have their basis from the Bible.

The Quran does assign punishments for certain crimes but there are also rules and regulations for carrying them out, which are IGNORED by said governments. And keep in mind that only SOME muslim countries have this kind of system.
