thanks for this man. i'm currently scoping out which interface to get to go into mac running protools9.

with similar spec there's an m-audio, presonus, motu and lexicon too!! decisions decisions. how has it been for you these past few months? i look forward to watching more of your vids. peace!

I'm not trying to sound like a noob. But why do alot of recording interfaces use firewire when usb 2.0 is 40mbs (I believe) faster?

@darkgamer240 Firewire 400: 400 Mbps, Firewire 800: 800 Mbps, USB 1.1: 12 Mbps, USB 2.0: 480 Mbps.

@darkgamer240 Good question. Usb sounds better but 480mbps is the highest rate of data transfer, it averages far less as it runs in serial (universal serial bus). FIrewire's much better as it runs optimally at 400mbps majority of the time. It runs in parallel. Thats why you can daisychain firewire (the pro 40 and most other firewire audio interfaces have 2 firewire ports) so you can run external hardrives etc. Great interface, I have one :D.
