Just curious what does using a board accomplish in terms of strength. Does limiting the range of motion train different muscle groups or is this for a competition?
The only way to build strength is to move large amounts of weight. Since the boards shorten the distance the bar has to travel, it enables the lifter to push more weight, therefore incresing his strength. Good stuff

Boards train the lockout portion of the press, and get your cns used to the wieght.
