  • 4:43 onwards is simply glorious.

  • No song has ever before invoked such emotions in me.

  • b e a u t i f u l

  • This song reminds me of the happy time when the doctor told me at 14 years old the brain tumor had receeded :)

  • The end of this song is damn powerful.

  • This reminds me of a man running away from randomly flying cars destroying the city...

  • Truth, Goodness, Beauty — those celestial thrins, Continually are born; e'en now the Universe, With thousand throats, and eke with greener smiles, Its joy confesses at their recent birth.

    Henry David Thoreau

  • so often do words get in the way of the truth and understanding of one another..

  • just can say WOOOWW thanks (dont know english)

  • Finally, some non-meme, non-copypaste, opinion and fact based top comments. THANK YOU.

  • Isn't it wonderful how every genre of music that exists and will ever exist will never be truly forgotten, because some force will always be trying to get people to listen?

  • This contorts my soul into an emotional wreck but releases it and I find new joy in life.

  • this song, is my heroin...<3 nothin' better,,,

  • No description available... My thoughts exactly.

  • Everyone has a right to their own feelings about their experiences in this life...music is merely an extension of one's feelings and whether you like it or not (in this case their music) does not take this right away nor does it make their feelings wrong.

  • this + rainymood com = AMAZING *___*

  • Man, people in the comments here are way too high-strung.

  • Once again a song that has brought be to tears, surely this is good music, when it can put your day in a 180 degree turn. I brought closer to close to absolute sobbing, as a murmur the words, " I am here, I am here, I am here" over and over again. In our crazy frantic lives, we will lose ourselves, and meditative songs of clarity like this lift us back to consciousness. Is that enlightenment? I have no idea, but I'm bringing as many people with me as I can.

  • the only word i can use to describe this is beautiful

  • I have no idea what my feelings are doing.

All I know is this has brought me close to tears.

  • helps me get through my exams and finals... learning gets easier because the sound is so... relaxing :D

  • If these guys and did a split with Explosions in the Sky, I'm pretty sure the world would spontaneously burst into tears upon it being played.

  • This song would complement well as a theme track for a live adaptation film of many of Cormac McCarthy's works, since many of his literary compositions are set in Texas.

  • I cannot thank Triple J's Sound Lab enough for indroducing me to this masterpiece.

  • I could not have estimated anywhere near the amount of awesomeness this song contains

  • Today may be the best day of my life. After I finished watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I wrote about how much I appreciate everybody I have ever met. I realized that without them, my philosophies would not exist. I spent some time with my family. After conversing and listening to some delightful music, I went home and I'm now listening to Balmorhea for the first time. If today were my last day, I would consider it my favorite out of all the 18 years I've spent so far.

  • @abscessedcerebrum Very Insightful and reflective for your young years.

  • @abscessedcerebrum what are your philosophies (on life)??

  • @abscessedcerebrum: Good for you! :-)

  • I fall in love.. It's 'Truth'. No matter, what I can to tell more and more.

  • this song reminded me of how heart broken I am, when everyday I just try to ignore it.

  • how did i not know about this before today? oh my soul.

  • The seven dislikes are people with tastes in music wildly different from mine, and I would like to hear what they listen to.

  • @TACNTTH No sir, You dont want to --- unless you want to get your ears raped.

  • perfect music

  • this song represents my life and it's ending shall be mine

  • God this makes me want to make a western movie just so i can put this as the score

  • Can you play beauty?

  • The six dislikes are the millennium kids that don't know shit about quality music and listen to "pop" all day...

  • @MercilessHurricane Not everyone... I'm 16. Balmorhea is not my favourite band (i prefer post-rock/metal like Russian circles, Explosions in the sky or Long distance calling) but I like it too... But... it's truth - classical music is very underrated...

  • @MercilessHurricane It isn't fair to stereotype younger people. I just turned 16 not too long ago, and I listen to a variety of music, including Balmorhea, and sure sometimes I may listen to pop but that means nothing. People have different tastes in music, and you just have to get used to the fact that they may not like the same songs as you. Personally, I think it is their loss, this music is beyond amazing, indescribable.

  • @MercilessHurricane sad that people take their prejudices so fast...

  • @MercilessHurricane actually some pop music are really good, say Beatles and Coldplay for example. They're popular because they're good. You can't be thinking highly of yourself just because you listen to some obscure indie stuff that very few people know of. Music does not discriminate

  • @MercilessHurricane How can you say that? This type of music is all I listen to, and I'm a '91 kid. Sure, kids with terrible taste are out there. Adults with terrible taste? Just as common. Look at Nickelback fans. ^_^;

  • I discovered Balmorhea on Pandora, so glad I did!

  • I'm going to walk down the aisle to this song.

  • This makes me want to go out and show the world I'm somebody.

  • If only this song would play in my dreams, I would never want to wake up. I would just lay there and listen...Forever

  • This makes me forget every negative thing about life and just feel at peace. I LOVE THISSSSSSSSS.

  • This song has the power to change people, even for just a bit...

  • @looggs thats exactly how I feel about it.

  • People who dislike this have no fucking common sense or heart.. go suck cocks asswipes.

  • Perfect song to help someone fall asleep

.......you know in a good way

  • I read somewhere Music is the idea of feeling nostalgic for something you will never have. Spot on.

  • Perfection.

  • The first time I heard something from Balmorhea was on a commercial about laptops. I looked up the song it was Settler by Balmorhea. I hadn't realized that I had just discovered a treasure trove of beautiful music. I'd like to thank commercial advertising.

  • AMAZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG :o OMG!!!!

  • I am impressed by everybody's capacity to not trash Lady Gaga or Justin Beiber but to only comment on their true appreciation of this music.

  • so often do words get in the way of understanding

  • This should be a new genre of music, "EPIC" genre if i say .

  • This wells up all kinds of feelings in my mind and throughout me, sends a shiver down my spine and warms my heart.

It does all the things true music should.

It is beauty given musical form.

  • Everytime I hear this song I think of my favorite part of John Greenleaf Whittier's "The Corn Song":

"All through the long, bright days of June

Its leaves grew green and fair,

and waved it hot midsummer's noon

    Its soft and yellow hair"

Actually, I think that while listening to most of their beautiful, beautiful songs.

  • @reuabmik good stuff man.

  • i'm falling in love.

  • Listen to this while reading Zen Proverbs, Confucius writings, and anything in the bible and I promise you, you will gain a new perspective for doing it... This is some of the best music I have ever heard, it says so much without physically saying anything at all.

  • @imaclay777 I was studying surrealistic paintings while listening to this; its funny no matter what the art is, you gain new perspective on it with the right muse...

  • I heard this song in a film by the Invisible Chldren foundation. They have come together to support and protect the people of central Africa who are being terroized by Joseph Kony and his rebellion army. He has killed and raped his way through Africa and has kidnapped over 35,00 children in the last 25 years to fight his war. We are having a fundraiser currently and if you feel like showing your support, you can donate via my donation page. It wont let me post the link so message me for details

  • My wife was raised in Balmorhea. Her family is still there! ... and populates half the town!

  • Everyone visualizes and feels something different from this one piece of art. Brilliant.

  • @MoonNymph775 Great call love

  • Truth indeed.

  • mi ricorda una ninna nanna che vorrei che mi cantassi tu ogni sera ogni giorno negli attimi in cui smarrisco la strada

per ridarmi il respiro quando mi assale il panico

  • this song reminds me of the dead island trailer that plays the actions backwards... gives me goosebumps.

  • this song is used in one of the videos for the invisible chindren foundation.

  • Inspiring..

  • @OctopusMimesis so, where's the problem? can you tell me the use of your comment please? i didn't get it

  • @Squatolo No use. :)

  • @OctopusMimesis ohmm, ohmmm, ohmmm, nothing is everything. samadhi.

I listen to this, and I listen to hip hop. what of it?

  • @OctopusMimesis It's only boring if you make nothing of it.

  • This song, is so beautiful. It really is the truth of music. <3

  • beautiful!!

  • @calumak I do listen to music. Every imaginable type of music excluding rap and hip-hop. But I'm curious. What music do you find better than this?

  • I only just discovered this and it's absolutely beautiful! I love this and how the music says everything that words could never say

  • This is so so so perfect. First time I hear something of Balmorhea, already addicted.

  • Very Nice! Saw that you guys were coming to The Hotel Utah in SF tonight 3/8/11 and I was pleasantly surprised by what I heard. Thank you I'll try to make the show.

  • Very nice!

  • 5 people ignore the Truth and live their life rapped in false musical expansion.

  • Augen zu und ne runde fliegen d^-^b

  • Stupendo

  • Does anyone agree with me that this is the greatest piece of music ever created?

  • @1Tyrano1

    no.

    listen to more music.

    its pretty good though.

  • This song is such an excellent source of inspiration. I really enjoy every seconds of it

  • I think the world would be a better place if we heard more music like this in the media.

  • everybody who likes this check out Luca Francioso Il Cucchiaio non Esiste here on youtube, he's amazing

  • This song makes me want to climb mountains, and dance on top of them.

  • A few weeks ago, a friend recommended Balmorhea for me to listen to. I kept forgetting or putting it off, but early this morning, I clicked on the link to this song. I cannot bring myself to close this page. This is easily the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard, and what impresses me the most is the serenity and calmness even as the song builds up momentum.

  • "Music expresses that which cannot be said, and on which is impossible to keep silent"

    Victor Hugo

I have no other way to describe what I feel when I hear this song

  • @btsmj no i think music is just an excuse to exploit our instinctual aesthetic perception to make money

  • @phyrexiancure I'm sorry but you're trying to sound fancy using words you don't know the definition of. Please stop.

  • @phyrexiancure Your reply could be applied to anything commercial, just replace the word "music" with "art" or "books" or "movies", etc. I'm sorry if you have no appreciation of these beautiful things simply because they are commercialized, because you are truly missing something great.

  • this is so fucking perfect

  • @BroncsGuy32 your soooo damn right, buddy =))

  • that was amazing

  • this song is just beautiful. breathtaking

  • God, from 5:50 to the end, it is just pure brilliance !

Can't imagine the feeling I would get if this was played played in front of me.

  • life isn't that bad

  • 3 people have only heard lies.

  • Balmorhea and Explosions in the Sky shall be playing at my funeral.

  • I hear music when I see you...

  • great use of dynamics

  • If there were words to describe this song, I'd use them.

But there are too many references to beauty through other words; Stunning, breathtaking. Therefore all I will say is this: It's truly indescribable.

It makes breathing a little easier to listen to this in the morning.

  • I heard this on a video for TOMS. supporting the children in need with new shoes, i thought this was a beautiful song on the video so i looked it up :)

  • @cnthyasngr i did the same thing, when i heard it on the toms video. Now im totally in love with this group.

  • I am just glad people are so unique in their talents. It is what makes us all different that makes our world so vibrant. It is in this difference that we find each other and become as one.

We've all been brought together here in this vast world by song writers gift. Never be afraid to be different, its what makes us alive and well.

  • Is it weird to say that Balmorhea's music reminds of the video game Red Dead Redemption.

  • Balmorhea & Coffee is all what I need every morning...

    youtube.com/watch?v=E_Oqf3WVnMc&feature=related

Noticed any similarity with the last minute of "truth"?

And finally my #1 ultimate sadness song (if you want to cry ;):

  • @ThatArtyKid

Well, until now I thought all the worst come from Texas... Surprise me ;)

Guess you still have a plenty of time to look outside of your lovely homeland. If you just open your mind a little.

With all respect to Balmorhea lovers, this music is kind of primitive and just catchy in this melancholy way.
