  • LOL! Clark Gable in Sepia tone.

  • Marvelous! At 0:40 Lmao, the women´s face excieted by Clark´s moves!

  • I FUCKING LOVE YOU GABLE! OH YEAH! :D

  • LOL @ 0:40' Keep pressing 5.

  • love him

  • cant dance? ever see clark gable waltz in gone with the wind? he can dance.

  • OMG RHETT BUTLER!!! =b

  • I can't believe Clark Gable can dance!!!!! That's shock me!!!!!

  • @linado1994 He says he can't dance. In the Making of Gone With The Wind they were saying that dancing was not one of his strong suits. But he sure does a great job in this!

  • 30s punk.

  • @Hot80s and sing...

  • She also has a real Samantha Jones expression on her face around @ 1:02

  • @butterbeanbby95 - I always notice that whenever I watch this! And I love it! Ahahaha. I love Clark Gable <3

  • Has anyone noticed him doin the heel toe @ 0:26 ? Haha and luk at irene's face @ 0:39 !

  • . . . from the film, "IDIOT'S DELIGHT"

  • from which movie is it?

  • This needs to play on a constant loop.

  • oh, it's the racist version. hello. ...

  • I wish I lived anywhere between the 20's-60's. 70's and 80's are good too. :)

  • he is so sexy ;)

  • love it. Clark Gable is uhh=mazing! =]

  • Ah, the 40's 20's. Almost as good as the 80's 50's.

  • @Sactreats

more like 30s. Don't let the sepia fool you, the guy who upoloaded it, changed the format.

  • @MillaHead I was more making a comment on the phenomenon of "bygone era portraying separate bygone era". Yeah, Idiot's Delight was made in 1939, so not quite the 40's yet, but getting there. And in the scene shown, the performance is supposed to come across as charming, but a little old-fashioned, so they're kinda poking fun of the 20's/early 30's. It's kinda the Happy Days phenomenon; the early 60's being portrayed through the filter of the late 70's/early 80's.

  • yes great stuff

  • That is totally Norma. Holy shit...it's Clark Gable.

  • there is no way near as much effort in this as there is in fred astaire's version but this is still okay. umm... i have been watching him dance and he isn't really- imagine him without his back up dancers, it wouldn't really be good then :P

  • did some research and it's definitely norma shearer

  • Comment removed

  • Norma Shearer looks great as a blonde!

  • I also like the version of this that was done in "Young Frankenstein".

  • Evan Clark had to sing and and dance-I must admit he did a great job!

  • Oh Mr. Gable.

He looks so uncomfortable dancing and singing.

    It's adorable. xD

  • What a great video this is! You know, I never knew that Mr. Gable could dance like that! I'm always thought of Clark Gable as a dramatic actor!

  • Ahhh.

I absolutely love this number - I wish it showed the full clip. Gable hears the applause and comes back out for an encore.

  • Here's something else about Clark Gable....during WW2 he was a gunner on B-17s. Jimmy Stewart was a bomber pilot.

  • I just ordered and wached the Idiot's Delight....

This song is worth every penny, BUT!! the film is WORTHLESSSSSSSSSSSS....

so I just listen this every day.....I LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • That is definately Norma Shearer with a blond wig!

  • lilcuteactor is wrong. It IS Norma Shearer. I am doing the play. The playwright wrote the screenplay as well just for Shearer and Gable. Gable was so ashamed of his dancing here that he never danced again in a film-or so says the 'extra' bits on my copy of "Idiot's Delight."

  • 47??? think not

  • I LOVE CLARK GABLE !!!!

  • lol i think he was doing heel and toe

  • would of hated living in the 1920's. Not my cup of tea era

  • Russian prime minister Putin on the hotel Ritz?

  • Very good moves! Go Clark! Amusing the way she looks at his sensual hip moves with longing eyes.

  • While this version with Clark Gable is amusing to watch, it pales compared with the 1949 version by Fred Astaire in Blue Skies.

  • He is so adorable in this...They just don't make like that any more. Love this clip. :)

  • This is from the film 'Idiot's Delight' (1939). It's the only film in which Clark Gable danced. Norma Shearer was also in the fim. Wikipedia has an article about the film. The song was written by Irving Berlin in 1929 (Wiki also has an article about the song...it's been popular for decades)

  • Hahahaha. Oooooooooh no. Well...you're HALF right.

This song IS 80 years old. It was published in 1928.

  • yeap!! thats right! written and published in 1929 by Irving Berlin

  • Yeah you're right, 29...

  • I had no idea Clark Gable was such a good dancer!

  • I as well am shocked at how old this song is..Learn something new everyday.

  • HaHa It was on "Young Frankenstein" before that !

  • I think Clark is adorable in this number!

he's on the beat and lighter on his feet than I would have imagined. and the ending is pretty funny too

  • rhett, from what?

  • Go Glark!! You looked good hoofin' it!!! loved this!

  • First time I've seen Clark Gable sing or dance. Even if he can't do it like Astaire, he still looks yummy.

  • The whole thing is great, but it's kinda funny for me that they've made a movie about the jazz era in the swing era :) My two favorite periods of history :)

  • the way he thrusts himself, below the waist, to Norma Shearer and her look is priceless...

  • Gable wasn't a Song and Dance man but, boy, he does look as if he's making a good try at it. Gable was a big, heavy guy. Not very light on his feet

  • Well, Clark Gable is no Fred astair thats for sure. He is a little stiff.

  • He might be a little stiff, but he was definately more of a badass than Astaire

  • This is from a movie called "Idiot's Delight."

  • Love Gable! Would anyone please tell me the name of this film, I actually don't know.

  • he got the moves allright, but he doesnt have the voice like fred astaire, and it was too fast

  • yeah imagine that Clark Gable dancing and not to badly really!

  • great cast...

Gable - Shearer - Arnold.. all tops.

Clark and Norma played several movies..

she was outstanding with many stars

    like Frederic March and Gable.

No threat to Fred Astaire but enjoyable...

    he did get through it!

  • What a horrible blond wig.....- why, or why would they have Gable do this one.........

  • Lovely Gable

  • Good job, but I don't see him as a dancer. He's like he's holding his balance and trying not to fall.

  • Gable was never a dancer. He was known in his time (the 30s & 40s) for playing macho, tough-guy roles. A bit like Humphrey Bogart.

  • The real star is the great Edward Arnold.

  • This is fabulous!

Thanx for this.Norma Shearer smoulders here.*****

  • Norma Shearer was the most beautiful woman who ever lived.......S.I. (Sydney)

  • Sepia tone ay? Whats wrong with Gray-scale?

  • Génial.

  • so this is how it all got started?!two words:kick ass!it sure has changed alot over the years

  • i tap danced to this and it was really fun...i luv this song

  • This is from the movie "Idiot's Delight" from1939!!!!!! SWEET!

  • You know what's wierd. THis film is in black and white, not sepia tone. I guess aaron1912 just did that for that extra vintage feel.

  • Out of curiosity, when did they change the lyrics to this song? Speaking as in if these are the original lyrics, of course.

  • they'd changed it by the 40's...

  • For the Fred Astaire version in the 1946 film "Blue Skies" I think. I believe Astaire's version to be the definitive one! Check it out its on YouTube

  • I love this ! Gable singing and dancing ! One of a kind scene !

  • This is one of my favourites. It ranks right up there with the same song and dance number in "Young Frankenstein". It was also sung and danced bautifully by Fred Astaire in "Blue Skies".

  • I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!

  • The beautiful blonde sitting in the chair is Norma Shearer, who discovered the late Janet Leigh. Norma also appeared as Queen Marie Antoinette as shown on You Tube. Clark is something else! What a man!!!

  • I hate to break this to you, thats Not Norma Shearer thats a very young Lana Turner...The movie is called "Idiots Delight" came out in either 43' or 47' but the credits mark her as Lana Turner

  • I think that IS Norma Shearer, not Lana Turner!! Look closer at the woman's face--it's rather long and not THAT pretty. Lana Turner was much better looking.

  • It's DEFINITELY Norma Shearer. Lana Turner was going to star, but she pulled out. It's famous for being Norma's only film as a blonde.

  • I just checked imdb, and it says Idiots Delight (1939) starring Clark Gable and Norma Shearer.

  • Brilliant, clark gable is one of my favourate actors of the time.

  • Thanks for posting this. I think it's the only scene in Idiot's Delight (1939) worth watching...and if only to see Clark try to sing and dance!

  • Here, here mate! I want to see 3 minutes of Clark Gable and his sexy girls dancing without the views of that stupid old mare and that silly old bugger with her.

  • Hey, that was amazing!

  • Isn't that Clark Gable?! Singing and dancing!?!? No, it can't be. Clark doesn't sing and dance. Great video! Thanks for posting it. Glad Clark stayed with drama and comedy. Hmmm.

  • I was thinking the same thing. He was in his glory with all the pretty girls around.

  • Amazing! Also sharp and clean visually as well as acoustically. Seems to have some tint added. Where did you dredge this up?

  • "That's entertainment" 1

  • Oh, yes! Haven't seen that film for years. Thank you!
