Lets be real, SearchAnyways entire business plan is threatened by the very existence of e-mail marketing. You dont want to lose money that would go from search marketing to e-mail marketing.

I've just never got the practice. Even if I sign up for a newsletter, I probably won't ever open it. I'm kind of just baffled that anyone is actually ABLE to make a buck doing it.
BTW, I was just using YouTube to host my clips, not promote the site -- though that is a nice perk of putting them here. I'm using another site now just because the resolution is better.
and as far as im concerned, this entire message is nothing more than spam ..
a brief point about issues that everybody using the internet is aware of, one that everybody is already annoyed with, and one that has provided no more insight into the issue of marketing spam, email or otherwise ..
you are trying to lure people to your search engine ..
youre promoting yourself ..
just as the businesses do when they hire people to send out spam ..
Believe it or not, it is not our own search engine that we generate revenue with. We make money distributing our "search feed" to "affiliates" who, for the most part, aren't looking for opportunities on YouTube.
i do not condone cheap, email spam marketing techniques in the least ..
just to get that out of the way ..
but get real dude ..
if people can make money off of it they will do it ..
and as long as businesses are willing to pay people to spend their time setting up and maintaining spam vessels and engines, and are willing to pay them for it, then people will do it ..
You make a fine point: it's businesses paying other businesses. I guess that it's the doing of a salesman (like a buddy I have) who convinced another marketing guy who gets to spend a budget that he doesn't care about because its not his money.
To generalize all email marketing as spam is kind of lame.

you cant blame the business and you cant blame the people working for them ..
they are all trying to make a buck ..
just like you are doing here by promoting your own website ..
trust .. yah .. i agree that the majority of marketing will get through to people if it's being promoted by a website they use and trust ..
but come the freak on already ..
the need or lust for the almighty dollar is turning the wheels ..
GL with the website tho ..
