nepal is / was a sovereign country from the beging, it was not & it is not a part of any country.if u think buddha was born in previous india & now in nepal than
u need 2 know india never exist before British rules india they Reunit them and gave a name as India, it was know as east india ,do u remember west indies...the name.in india there were 100's of free nation they battle each other, i dont know what will people say ,but the land & place where buddha was born belongs 2 nepal.. thats it.
Japanese people are known to be literate in the world ,according to a literacy ..ratio. they come to visit Nepal to see buddha's birth place, but i think some body illiterate write this story and script. the film makers made a mistake in the very begining of the movie where buddha borns, so i think the rest is also like that, a modified or false story. if japan was ruled by united state or china and you were born in there so what do you say you are born in china or in japan/nihon??
Hey now, why are we fighting? Buddha himself was about peace right? I don't think that he would care whether you knew where he was born or not. Wouldn't he care more that you to remembered his teachings of love and peace?
At Shakyamuni Buddha's period , neither India nor Nepal existed.. However , it lies in modern Nepal.. its never lied nor lies in India.... the film makers should do some research before making such movie..
here we go again. Now japenese also want to play with our feeling. We will never except that buddha was born in india. No more. He is our national treasure.
Man this is so wrong Buddha was born in Limbini in Nepal not in India............... lack if background research before making a movie.... so lame.............
@saitanudaya The lands of the Shakya tribe were annexed by Indian powers during the time of the Buddha. During those days, there were no distinction between Nepalese and Indian, as the state of Nepal did not exist until over a thousand years after the life of the Buddha. It is fair to say the lands of the Himalayas only began to distinct from an Indian identity near Tibet to the North and Burma to the East.
@Invincnerd fuck u man no country named india used to exist at that time, whole south asia was known as "bharat" which is something like calling "ASIA" or "north america" at that . The birth place of buddha is in present nepal Lumbini.
@Invincnerd A small detail you have overlooked is that there was no India either, there were only different states/kingdoms, which was not commonly united as India, was there? This means that the Mount Everest was also originated in India, and so was the Pashupatinath Temple and so on. I agree that Buddha was popular in India at the time, but he was born in Nepal. for instance, I am born in Nepal, not somewhere that was a part of some other country 5000 years ago!
Was there a country called India at that time when Buddha was born?? Buddha was born in Kapilvastu and he got the enlightment in Gaya. It would be mistake to say that Buddha was born in India as Kapilvastu is now part of Nepal and above all, there was no country called India at that time.
If we start saying that all the incidents happened in history around present India belongs to India, then it means whole subcontinent belong to India at those times, which is totally unacceptable.
@Invincnerd for u kind infomation.. India existed after 1947 A.D Nepal was born a long time ago.... its not wiseful to say that the boy was born in India.. if it was Indian subcontinent then it was ok... but here they directly said its India.. it a lame!! its a pathetic thing that they didn't even google while making this anime!!
@hem1011 India refers to the entire sub continent. The dominant culture in that region is still Indian. I understand the STATE of India was only created after the British unified the various Indian Kingdoms, but it is understood at around 500B.C, the major kingdoms in the area are distinct and Indian.
@Invincnerd What Nepal was a part of India??.. hey hey,. we never were part of India and will never be... Go and check history of your country... Yeah we are friend, neighbor.. and we have some cultures in common but why are you not accepting the fact that he was born in the land.. that exist inside Nepal... so doesn't it mean that he was born here.. and to let you know.. India the name itself was given by British.. Nepal its the name name our ancestor kept!! and it existed even in Buddha's era!
@Invincnerd ...... there was nothing called india before britsh came...But, Nepal has thousands years of existence .It has never been under any foreign empire !! However , it is true that lumbini wasnt part of Nepal then.. but now lumbini lies in Nepal .. So Nepal is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha..
@Invincnerd ; fuck u ,, if wat u say is assumed to be true dan nepal was apart of india n india was apart of british empire,, now wiil it be coorrec if some one makes a movie claiming buddha was born in britain or mt everest is in briain, tajmahal is in britain,, us is in briain,, u better fuck urself u dork nerd ,,NEPaL HaS EXISTED IN THE PaST n NEPaL WILL EXXIST TILL ETERNITY ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
@MrPragalv ok, let me say this, by india i mean the empire that included modern day india. not modern india, nepal is seperate of course. but a long time ago nepal and india were both parts of that empire.
@nero2kewl u have very little knowledge...ok same empire then tell me the empire name???nepali empire also ruled tibet to kashmir so then it all belongs to nepal??jenghis khan ruled japan...then japan belongs to mongolia??bro, buddha is from tharu community which is indigenous nepali....only speak if u know.
@MrPragalv no genghis khan never ruled japan, so only speak if you know. also if you accused me of having very little knowledge check yours first, since you know nothing of the mongol empire or japanese history, lol.but you misunderstand,During the time of Buddha there were many kingdoms in the area and many peoples. All of the people in the Easter part of the sub continent around Bengal, Nepal, Bhutan, Assam, Bihar, and Orissa had all overlapping sections that belonged to a variety of kingdoms.
Buddha is one of my most favorite mangas of all time, so to see that they are making a movie of it has made my day. Dang though, they are gonna have to split it into multiple movies with how long it is.
Osamu Tezuka is Amazing, I have several of his novels, and I love every single one, but this trailer is Shit, it doesn't give shit idea of what the anime is about
@MrPragalv .. Dude nothing comes from "you vs me" or "we are different" kinda attitude .. well it dos't matter where he was born or enlightened .. at the end all that matters is the divide is just an illusion (courtsey : Gutham Buddha) .. Peace \m/
@Kellox17 google lumbini.shakyamuni gautama buddha was born in nepal...this movie is giving wrong information...nepal is a himalayan country between china n india....nepal is a country of mt everest...birthplace of buddha....world renowed fighting force the gurkhas.
@MrPragalv Okay,we get it. Buddha was born in Nepal, not India. So what if the movie is slightly inaccurate? Can't we just watch it for entertainment and not focus so much on historical accuracy?
@Hjernespreng this is based of Tezuka's long life work Buddha which was inspired by the holy story of Buddha himself but turned and changed but not to much to insult or offend Buddhist he just wanted to make him more human and weak as a prince before he became Buddha.
The original stories of Buddha pretty much talks about how Buddha was completely screened off from death, disease and poverty by his father due to a prophecy that he would abandon his title if he ever saw it.
@Hjernespreng the manga kind of follows that but with Buddha getting the help of various other characters who were made up by Tezuka or who did in fact lived and met Buddha once.
mangafox.com/manga/buddha/v01/c001/3. html
The label "place of birth" is in Nepal.
mangafox.com/manga/buddha/v01/c007/2. html
No name of India or Nepal here.
Narrator fail, in this case.
And I don't think it's trying to be 100% historical accurate anyway. The movie might not be inaccurate, could just be the narrator.
And it's movie anyway. Like Pocahontas, Mulan, Anastasia is ever accurate.
I heard it's not even true to the manga.
But I'm dying to see this, really.
