What many people do not understand is that this is probably the most overlooked code violation in the National Electrical Code. You can over or under torque a termination which each have their own issues. Excellent video Mr. Henry...keep up the good work.
and before anyone says anything, I had only HAD 60 or so customers by that time. I take pride in my work, and was mortified that torque could make that much of a difference. I called everyone i could to come back in, and rechecked my work after regular business hours. there need to be some scare tactic videos out there for torque when you are being certified, something that makes it stick in a persons mind. Otherwise how will people know? Thanks for the video Tom
Great video, well presented. Torque is overlooked too often, especially car repairs. They are very expensive, but NECESSARY. I used to ignore torque as a mechanic until a water pump I had done DISINTEGRATED when cycling during expressway speeds. I had tightened one bolt way too much and weakened the retaining sleeve, which heated up while driving, and then snapped when the pressure increased as speed increased. Called over 60 customers to come back and get a "free maintenance" check.
Excellent video. Informative yet artistically passionate. Very well made. I too believe the subject of torque has been largely overlooked in the general field of DIY and engineering failures. Most car mechanics also never read or apply torque spec.
