I love the surreal touch the drawing has during it evolves and gets improved with every step further. also i like, that it already has the shape and poses of all elements of the done drawing already from start up. I could never expect next, what you would be going to add. also i like the unfittingly beautifull calming melodie, while those three guys are beeing attacked by that dragon <3 epic mix

it's called underpainting :) if you're an artist then you should seriously look it up, helps with doing stuff digital and by hand. it helps work out the compositing of the image before you do anything serious.. and i totally agree, the music depicts a beautiful warm day out, sitting under a peach tree... not SHENLONG ATTACKS

this is not done in one layer; if you noticed he copied one of the guys to the left side then modified it and on the right side he realigned the guy.

@silentghost1972 I think it is done on one layer, defenitely the part you mentioned. You can see him draw the selection around the character and after the rotation repairing the empty spaces. Would take too long to jump from layer to layer at this stage.

He did start with a sketch, be he sketched using volume/mass instead of line. A lot of the time this is actually easier because it gets you thinking three dimensionally.

Well Wacom Bamboo is good for beginners, you'd wanna move to intuos when you master the bamboo and a cintiq is where it has an lcd screen and lets you display your computer screen on the tablet

if you have windows movie maker it's easy (go to the effects bar) but if you have the latest edition of i-movie you can't at all because for some reason apple decided getting rid of all the effects in the newest edition was a good idea. i have this problem : (

simple answer-draw and paint as much as you can, if its possible take art lessons or go to art school and draw with hand and on pc 2 or 3 h a day as minimum if you can then 6-8 could be great, just draw, draw, draw and in time you'll be able to draw something like this and even something better
