The firing of the cylinders is not together like a twin but the GP engine has more radical valve timing so it only lasts for a race. The GP6 is specifically designed to pulse similar to a twin even though it is a V4. Give it up. It is manly to admit when you are wrong.
haha... galaxy that is funny! "I know my shit on this stuff man." Sedici in Italian means 16 as in 16 valves. So have you ever seen 8 valves in a cylinder? Sorry I am not usually like this but you are nuts.
@joserumba Once you enter ''Bucine'' the last corner your bike should be in 3rd gear, it's a long corner and you really need to flow your revs, in 1st or 2nd gear you put alot of stress on your gears and that can result into ugly situations.
I've been to Mugello and visited the MotoGp several times including last year plus I'm a racer myself.
It can't be 6th gear hiting the rev limiter. That must be 5th, unless you have changed the cranks or the gear ratio. I was there on Aug 23rd on the same bike and while I exit on 2nd gear shifting right before the rev limiter I barely switched to 6th gear before hitting the brakes. By the way, as a response to galaxything, the bike can hit over 180 miles/hr on that straight. Mine hit 187.
ye idd the, the gp duc gets not much over 200 at this track so there is no way the desmo will be close to that but with some expencive work u could get it to hit 200 but on a longer stretch than that strait.
@robertmike219 not a chance mate, about 170 - 175 on that strait for that bike. A superbike will hit 180 - 190 on that strait but not the road going desmo. I know my shit on this stuff man.
@galaxything if you knew your shit, you wouldn't expose yourself like that..., the bike can hit over 180 miles/hr on that straight. Mine hit 187, and that includes braking and turning on k1 :)
@HARISHAROSSI read my other comment, i said "this" 1 meaning this video, I explained (as you did) how it was 5th not 6th gear. But I still doubt a standered desmo would hit that speed with that much stretch to do it in. dato logging would give u a correct speed, standered speedo's are always out at high speed.
@galaxything I am talking about data from the data logger....there's no way I would be looking at the speedometer at those speeds. The bike is much faster than you think! I don't know how fast a superbike is but keep in mind that this is a Ducati MotoGP engine that has a lower rev limiter for reliability reasons.
@TheGambinoKid It is a 4 cylinder yes but in a twin configuration which is why it sounds like a twin "Double-L-Twin" it is not the V4 that is in the gp bike it is very different hence sounds totally different (and I don't mean the db)
@robertmike219 I have some facts for you in case you may of disputed my claim. A road going desmo tops out in 5th gear at between 170 - 175 mph (things that can effect this between 170 - 175 mph can be the decreasing radios effect of the tyres i.e. lean angle or clutch wear or combination of both. Assuming the bike had a perfect clutch and was totally up rite with no lean angle then that bike did almost exactly 175 mph on that strait (5th gear rev limit)
Ya its geared for 200 mph but a stock Desmo will never hit 200 except with some head work and 15:1 HC omega pistons. Not even with that outrageously priced $8K exhaust system, will it not go 200. Ducati makes alot of BS claims to sell bikes.

@HARISHAROSSI I can assure you it's not the moto gp engine, the moto gp engine is a v4 and the desmo (road bike) is a twin.
