  • im headin on my way out where this guy is very shortly. great film! maybe i can find him

  • Great video. I like how he took credit for his terrible decisions. Man up to your mistakes people!

  • seems like a cool dude

  • dont help this guy hes gonna use money to buy crack

  • Giving a homeless person a ticket thats just evil

  • Sometimes people misuse the judicial system to make a innocent person homeless.

    Google: Robert McClendon

and see what two women did to him.

  • And sometimes dishonest people contrive to put people out of their homes, too. It is not always the individual's fault if they are out of luck and need help.

  • i used to see him every morning going to work and every evening going home! i ALWAYS gave this dude money just because he looked cool as hell. when i didnt see him there one day i was actually worried and wondering... glad to see that he is going in a better direction! :)

  • I use to watch this guy everyday on my way to work in Houston...standing right there on I-10//// Selling the newspaper in the morning. This guy is about 6-3/4 and Super Cool! Ragtube com

  • Great Idea! It would be even better though if you guys would ask the questions instead of blending them in. It feels a bit interrupted. But keep up the good work!!!

  • Everlast - What It's Like

  • Whats the name of the song in the beginning ?

  • We all need to do what we can do to help the helpless, all have a reason for being where there at, some just need a helping hand,,,

  • I think we should remember that many of our homeless are VETS who returned from a war and were spit on... they fell in a vicous cycle, there was not enough information at the time about PTSD and then add "Stigma" the cycle continued. For those people family members tired from same ole, same ole as did friends. They feel futher many of out VETS are still out there and willing to take help. Tim show people this can work. Lets help all we can. I mean the rehab. So do not respond about money peeps.

  • "I CAN EAT PRETTY CHEAP".......... how many of you really know what it mean? I hope he will be Ok.

  • dude your a jerk. you have nothing better 2 do than talk trash.

  • Wow, Titus Welliver lives on the street now??!!

  • My mother and father were alcoholics when I was growing up. My mother had the help of her family to get her well and financially support her. My father was arrested (for something he didn't do and was eventually released with the conviction overturned) but the only reason he got clean and didn't end up on the street was bc he was in jail. His name was Tim too. I commend all of the people trying to help this man. We have to stick together in this world. Don't screw this up. This is your 1 shot.

  • thank you so much for the effort you put out to help Tim. I agree with your explanation on the name of this project. And i see the respect that you have. i am saddened by the judgemental attitudes of some of the people commenting here. As a Christian i am taught, if someone asks for your shirt, you give your coat... no questions asked. You are doing a great job. I'll keep Tim in my prayers. Great choice of music too, btw.

  • Everyone of these people willing to put themselves out there and put their story out. YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION!!

  • I believe but for the grace of God go I.

However, this guy never really answers a question. I haven't seen anything except how he basically does nothing

  • Go TIM!!

    Tim made it to Newspaper!!

  • You need to change the name of this project. You can't expect educated people to take this seriously. I think having a more serious name would actually push a lot of people to help out. I think this is actually a really interesting and helpful idea and I would be willing to help, however "Pimp This Bum" doesn't give this the seriousness it deserves.

  • actually, if you read the newspaper article, they said that if they named it something serious like " help the homeless" people would think that its just "another one of those fund raisers". theres a lot of projects like those but this one "happned" to get famous... and part of the reason was for the name.

  • Thank you BlackH3artFilms - - my last comment is no longer needed. :) Thanks.

  • Yes I did read that but what I'm saying is that perhaps it should be something less MTV like. I'm giving my opinion because this actually called my attention. I find it really thoughtful.

  • I think it is not right for people to judge them even regarding self medicating. When you begin to lose hope, you may find yourself doing lots of things to just feel something or maybe just feel nothing at all. Walk a mile in their shoes and then point fingers. Imagine being alone in a city full of people who see right through you...they don't even treat like humans.

  • I am more concerned on this video; the guy holding the camera; in a constant stream of laughing about everything that is said. Most of this is not funny. Maybe he was just in a laughing mood. In any case I would have saved the interview for a serious day. Half of Tim's story is constantly being interupted. He doesn't get to speak freely.

  • Sorry I'm not a professional reporter . . that is why I'm not a professional reporter.

  • I feel sorry for homeless people but I'm incredibly skeptical helping them, because there's a reason they're there, most the time its because they spend all their money on booze and drugs. If we just straight up give them money theyre going to waste it and end up on the streets again. Im all for indirect relief, im against direct relief, which is what this is. How about, instead of giving your money to him, give him a job?

  • Because like you said, their money goes to get booze and drugs - they don't want a real job, because it would mean being committed to a life they're running from by using so much they're lost everything . . . Of course, this is just a generalization, and not meant to lump all homeless into a group. I'm just saying . . .

  • I encourage you to watch all the videos drummerjonathanp. I can't guarantee that it will change your mind, but it might.

  • Ive got my mind made up. How about give him an acoustic guitar and he'll have all the time in the world to practice and could make some money as a street performer

  • He's homeless, but he can afford cigarettes? -_-.

How about instead of just giving this guy money, we give him a job, and a temporary place to stay until he gets enough money to pay for it himself.

Most people are homeless because of the choices they make.

I'm sorry but, I don't see a point in this.

I'm all for helping people in need, however this just seems like a scam.

  • I don't get it either, cause cigarettes aren't cheap. I think those who smoke are just putting off actually doing something in life, like all those who stand out in the rain to have a break . . . What a waste and besides that, how much more information do those people need to understand smoking kills?!

  • Did you even watch the vid? The guy admits that his poor choices got him where he is and would be willing to dig ditches all day if someone paid him for it.

  • Buglar cigarettes - - $2 for 40 cigarettes you roll yourself. Just for the record. That' a $1 a day. Living on the street, anything to ease the nerves. I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing in his situation, can you?

  • No, I wouldn't do the same thing in his situation. I wouldn't waste money on something that makes no difference in someone's life other than gradually killing you. Why doesn't he learn to play an instrument to help ease his nerves? Why doesn't he spend his money on something constructive? Yeah you have to buy tobacco too. Nice try man, why give him money if he's just gonna buy cigarettes. Why don't YOU hire him to do something. Since you're the one filming this.

  • It is very easy to type anything in a box, to think anything about what we would do if we were in someone, elses situation... the truth is we THINK we do not know untill something happens to us. Not just Tim's situation but any in life. We see or hear something and think I WOULD NEVER!!! But is that true...let us hope we never have to find out.

  • There but for the grace of God go I...I think that we need to always be willing to help those who are ready for help...tempered with wisdom so as not to be the reason that they have one more day of drugs or alcohol via the money we hand them. Compassion and wisdom.

  • Go Tim Go, you've got the chance, take advantage of it and I don't mean the donations. Most people will never get the opportunity. Make us proud. Wish I had some $ to send, but one poorly budgeted month and I could be right with you. Only I probably wouldn't get the help your getting. Good Luck

  • I love this concept!! I am reposting your links everywhere. People need to stop looking right through other beings, regardless of what their situation is or what got them there....most people in America are less than a paycheck away from being in this very situation....and it is easy to give up on yourself when so people give up on you. Great idea!!! Love it!

  • I wish Tim luck. I hope he can get over his problems, same goes for all homeless people. I hope you find that pizza place for him, haha.

  • Yes, we can bring a "change" to his life. Change...change...change

  • You said it yourself......... YOU made poor choices.... enough said...

  • Haven,t we all made at least one poor choice during our lives, give the guy a chance, then you can told me I told you so.

  • You only contribute to his problems by giving him money. You become an enabler and he will continue to sit in piles of trash and be a burden on society. (particularly police, EMS and hospitals) He himself says he made a lot of poor choices. Obviously, he still is making poor choices. Cleaning up and filling out job applications is pretty darn easy but HE NEVER WILL.

  • ignoring the fact that there aren't even a lot of job openings, too bad most (if not all) companies will not hire you if you don't have an address or phone number-- things homeless people obviously don't have....

  • Society creates these burdens of society. Generally, you're right, but you can tell he isn't mentally unstable.

  • so it's blame the victim time, huh gumpy?

  • Idria66

My grandmother was a very wise woman and she taught me that the word NEVER should not exist.

  • That is why there is a saying ,Never say never!

  • Umm.. Get a Job?

  • Not exactly an easy time to get a job, and he said he'll take any job anybody will offer him. Dont blame for doin whatever to survive.

  • Let's be honest:

    1. He speaks English

    2. Has full use of his hands and legs

I have no empathy for people who make themselves out to be a victim when there are immagrants working 20 hours a day for less than minimum wage. As a recovering drug addict I know a thing or two about bad choices, but you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself and stop looking for handouts. When the pain gets great enough you will change... Keep doing what you do and you'll get what you always got!

  • Absolutely timh47! I agree with you. We are not looking to help the 'victim's who don't want help - - that chose to get handouts. But, if somebody is willing to get off the street, and just needs a hand-up - - we can all contribute a small amount to help him. Tim admits his problems, and makes no excuses. The pain is exactly what is motivating him to go through detox and rehab. We're very proud of him.

  • Timh, use your damned brain for once.

You point out right there WHY. Why hire a homeles guy for even minimum when they can hire illegal's for less?

& then there's scumbags like you that look down on homeless. Point blank, when shit hits the fan homeless like Tim know how to survive

  • Are you sure this guy is homeless?

He doesn't seem like hes the homeless type.

    I don't know, I guess I'm a little shocked.

  • He used to be an officer manager with things.

  • CMLovejoy - - I completely understand your initial reaction here, don't feel bad. We weren't sure at first either about any of these guys, until we got to know them. I assure you he is homeless, and worth the help he is receiving. I welcome you to our next webcam so you can ask him any question you have. He's much more convincing in person. :)

  • This kind of thinking and stigma has been a huge roadblock for people seeking help in many areas, homelessness, different types of addictions and mental health issues.

I wish great success for this project and kudos to you and your son.

  • Thank you angiesnabox - - I appreciate it -Sean

  • I was once told by the sister of a "homeless" guy that he makes more money than she makes working at her full time job. I don't know if this is true but I pray for these people and I am thankful I can still afford my rent. God bless you all.

  • There are plenty of fakes out there. We see them on the corner. One in particular panhandles with a walking cane - - till he's late for his bus home, and runs down the street. I don't know his story, so I don't want to judge, but those who truly need the help need not be judged by the fakes. Every homeless person is different, and that's becoming the moral of the story here.

  • Part 2: for archeeizm

A diabetic lacks insulin and replaces it in most cases by pill or injection, someone with a diagnosis of bipolar has a chemical imbalance and takes medications to rectify that. Before you ask, yes I have been diagnosed with bipolar I live a rather productive life. Go and educate yourself about alcoholism, drug use and bipolar and then repost.

  • Way to represent, angiesnabox! People are quick to assume sometimes instead of asking questions and learning. Thanks for sharing.

  • I wish the very best for you Tim, You can do this it will not be easy but you seem ready and that is of upmost importance.

  • On behalf of Tim, we thank you.

  • Cops are so brave for throwing homeless people in jail in order to fill out their arrest records in order to better their career. Put the homeless through more duress just to keep the banksters who run the prisons filthy rich. So brave.

  • On the other hand, if it weren't for the cops, the streets would be a VERY dangerous place to live. Tim and his buddies respect the police who are just doing their job. Yes, there are a few bad apples . . . but that's true everywhere.

So, in the case of the 'bad apples' - you make a powerful statement.

  • I wish I could donate. God I wish I could. I give to the people on the streets whenever I see them. You are in my prayers Tim and everyone else in need.

  • As Tim says - Those who wish they could give but can't sometimes can mean more to him than those that do give. As cliche as it sounds, it really is the thought that counts with these guys. In the rare case of eye contact and a smile - - he says it's worth more than a $100 bill.

  • Alcoholism and depression together are a horrible combination. Those that don't suffer with either of these problems have no idea how hard it really is. I wish I had money to give but I am disabled (physically) and having a hard time myself. Just know that if I were there I would give these men all more than a smile. I would give them a wink and a hug! Best of luck to you all. You can be the star in what will be a wonderful life to follow.

  • i know exactly what this guy is currently going through. i was homeless for about 13 years. strung out on crack, heroin and what have you. the thing that bothers me is that people instantly see him as lazy or a leech on society not knowing that all of us are a paycheck away from where he is now. someone took a chance on me and it payed off. tim's getting his shot and he appears level headed enough to run with the opportunity. God bless you tim.

  • high five to you marc for stating the truth. i met a doctor that was also in and out of rehab more times than I have fingers. he got it together because people didn't give up on him, then became a doctor to help others like him. it takes a strong will AND support from others to make it work.

  • for some reason, looking at this guy makes me think of Kimbo Slice. Maybe kimbo Slice vs Tim would be interesting street ghetto fight.

  • good luck tim

  • Great innovative project. I work as volunteer for an association on the streets of Paris; the challenges and range of stories of our fellow human beings are complex. Trying to be of service can be like swimming against a strong current, so I wish you the best in your efforts for Tim and others.

  • Thank you solitarybee - it's much more complicated than can be explained on short tv interviews and radio shows. I'm glad you understand the plight of the homeless. Hopefully this will help others scratch the surface and have a better understanding.

  • Maybe while this enterview was taking place, there were illegal aliens at the other side of the street working on some construction. This guy must have a social security number!

How is it that an illegal person is willing to work on anything -even with low pay- or go and search for a job by himself, and an american citizen is not??

  • That's a great question cantito517, I encourage you to log on the live webcam (Monday March 9th is the next) and ask Tim this question!

  • hasta donde hemos lllegado

  • whats the song at the beggining

  • "What it's like" - Everlast

  • the song at the beginning is "what it's like" by everlast.

  • hi if you americans stopped making war and arming yourselves to the teeth half your country would not be third world by the way before you shout off your gob you rarely get enemies by being nice try it america!

  • Well said andeyejah your on the ball my friend.

  • only bipolar and drunks and druggies are homeless. The rest of us live very large!!

  • for now you do there's big changes coming welcome to the new world order and global soclialism

  • Arch, it's scumbags like you that're the reason america's going down the crapper.

  • Why you say that?? I punch a clock, pay my taxes and drink a sixpack a day. What more should I do??

  • You're so damned dumb that you don't even REALIZE you're dumb.

  • God I guess I am cuz I dont even know what your talkin about!!

  • i live by des moines iowa i have been there quite a few times. and there will be this one guy the same guy off the interstate exit i watched him walk away one time. hell he was driving a very nice car, but some do need help i understand what they are going through i have been there myself but i never asked for handouts it sucks. GOOD JOB ON THE VIDEO, AND GOOD LUCK TO TIM

  • im from houston and yeah we have a bum problem at least he is helping old ladies across the street more than i can say for most and around Westimer the street he talks about the Bums Work they was your windows and have done a good job on a few of my cars although we must remember these men and wemen are on the streets for a reason you dont know they could be sex offenders, have a mental problem, a drug addict, or in this mans case just lazy. Houston has lowest unemployment rate in the country.

  • I really believe that this idea has the power to change lives and I love the social experiment of making someone that most people ignore into someone that everyone is talking about. That is the kind of thinking that is going to make people take notice in your skills! Rock on brother I subscribed to your channel!

  • Wow, thanks for the support KingHarbor. Be sure to watch Tim on Fox and Friends Monday . . . unbelievable huh?

  • you guys made it to the economy part of Swedens biggest newspaper.

    h t t p : / / w w w . e 2 4 . s e / l i f e s t y l e / b o e n d e / a r t i k e l _ 1 1 0 1 7 7 9 . e 2 4 - you probably won't understand a thing, but still :)

this is how i found out about your project.

you guys should be really proud of yourselves, you're doing a great thing.

    keep it up!

love the name of your website btw :D

  • We are tracking the site hits, and Sweden is one of the top 3 countries visiting our site. So unexpected, but so appreciated. We'll have to have Tim give a shout-out to Sweden! ;) Thanks so much for the support!

  • hey i sent you an email about getting him a job in katy. let me know !!!

    your a great person!

  • I think this is an awesome idea and would love to see it spread to other cities! It is very interesting to hear about homeless people, a lot of people dont understand what they go through. To hear their story is good and it lets people connect with them on a more personal level. I don't hardly ever give money to homeless people, even though I see them all the time in San Diego because I don't know what they will do with it and I won't support their drug habit, but if its food or a motel, great!

  • Thank You Very Very Much.

  • These guys should be applauded for coming up with this idea!

  • Wow, we're overwhelmed over here with the response. Deep thanks.
