wow it was a great concert, my favorite that i've ever been to. but that singing would be enough to make me look for an empty seat somewhere else. you're a brave man for listening to that all night.
Oh my gosh! You mean a spectator was actually singing at a rock 'n' roll concert?! Oh, the horror! C'mon guys, lighten up. This isn't classical music. You weren't at a museum. Rock 'n' roll is all about singing, dancing, releasing your emotions. Granted her voice isn't good, but you shouldn't chide someone for singing at a U2 concert. What you should've done is join in. There's nothing more beautiful than a stadium of people singing in unison.
The question becomes, if you are enjoying something, but are annoying everyone around you, do you continue? Personally, I would try not to annoy everyone around me for my own enjoyment.
I understand your point. Sure, we should all be considerate of others. But the important issue here is the context of the event. This was a rock concert. Singing is not an untoward act. She did nothing disrespectful or inconsiderate. You can say she lacked talent, but she had every right to sing. The real question is not why she was singing but why you and the others in your section weren't!

Singing at a moderate level is acceptable. Singing as loud as you can is UNEXCEPTABLE!! It truly sounds like a retarded child trying to sing. If that was the case then I totally understand! GOD AWEFUL!!!
Everyone in my section WAS singing, but not that loud and off key. I've taken quite a few vids at different concerts now, where everyone is singing. No one has stood out like this. I tell you...everyone kept looking at her, and I know what they were thinking. But I think this is actually all Bono's fault. He said "Everyone sing" Let's blame Bono!! ;-)
Really, the environment encourages singing. It's an effervescent space. See, Bono urged everyone to join in. I was at the show last night, sitting in the upper level. Almost everyone in my section was singing and having a great time. There was a tremendous energy, and a communal feeling. Sorry you didn't have a positive experience.

thats the real question..??? ... would it be everyone fault if ur breath stunk and they didnt give u sum gum,... how about taking some responsibility ,... retard...
I think you might have been the person singing haha. Did you listen to how horrible this woman sounds? I couldnt sound that bad if I tried. She might have the worst voice I have ever heard! I am sorry but if you suck that bad i think its best to just hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Wow. that's horrible. I woulda joked with her: "WOW, you have a terrible voice". Maybe that woulda given her a complex for the rest of the night, and she woulda just hummed after that
I wish I said something. I was thinking something along those lines all night. I did put my fingers in my ears at one point. It sounded so much worse in person.

I was at this show and it was amazing!!! Who was the retarding child singing in the background? I didn't realize make a wish foundation was giving out u2 tickets! No but seriously that womans voice is terrible. She should be stoned in a public gathering for ruining that show for you. I hate her!
Thanks so much for the sympathy...unfortunately she knew every word of every song! $250 ticket, great location and then that singing.... Everyone around me was suffering..... I hope she hears herself on this and is more considerate to everyone else next concert. Section 110 row 3 ...PLEASE DON"T SING!!!
That was my first concert. What a great night. :)

singing is great - destroying the song is another. I had a screamer in my section also. I didnt wish that she stopped, only turned down the volume.
