  • after screen replacment my iphone 3g dosent charge. How to fix it??

  • How come you didn't need to use the blow dryer for this method?

  • @loverzrockx you'd probably need it if you want to be safe

  • does this also work with the 3gs?

  • @mrc941 yes, but you need a different kit, I'd go to amazon.com, I got a repair kit for only a few dollars and repaired my iPhone good as new

  • @TheSocialistAngel k thanks

  • hints on removing stripped outer screw?

  • Iv seen a few videos on here about doing this and this looks the simplest way. i think iv ordered the wrong part as i assumed id have to sit there with a heat gun and scrape the glass out. i think if this a more expensive way of doing the repair, then it must save a lot of worry and time

  • But would if parts of the screen doesnt work , do I need a new LCD ? Somebody help !!!!

  • @poloman97 This is my worry as well.

  • But would if parts of the screen doesnt work , do I need a new LCD ? Somebody help !!!!

  • Will this fix a broken a iphone screen that has black stuff in it? Pls reply

  • just got the part from amazon, $17, installed it, booted but no touch screen response, found the #2 cable controls touch screen, took out 2 screws, reconnected cables until "Click" heard on #2 and voila! i have what looks like a new iphone 3G!!! yippee and thanks.

  • im fixing my friends iphone and after putting it back together it didnt recognize touch. fixed that but then i just had a white screen after i restarted it. what do i do?

  • i was sent to this video after receiving just the screen and not the assembly. The part of this video that is missing is important. If you just have a screen, you have to remove the glued in broken screen from the assembly very carefully and make sure its as clean as possible then use the new glue strips to put the new screen in as flush as possible (so no dirt can get in between the screen and lcd). Was the longest part for me, but following this video really helped and now my wife's 3g works.

  • @rarkai I made the same mistake of ordering only the glass instead of it coming prefit into the assembly, doh! Was a nightmare but got the job done :)

  • How can I get the LCD screen out? I can't seem to get it out as easily as it seemed.

  • wow it only took me 2 minutes to replace my phone after half of this vidoe

  • @azidops I have the same problem, can someone help me out?

  • ta bueno men

  • that #3 connecter is a lil devil

  • I wish I purchased the whole setup from you guys. I just bought the screen and it took me 2 hours to fix it...

  • the downside of this is that the the screen is not dirt proof anymore :/

  • So that what apple charges 200 dollars for huh? :/

  • i cant get the #1 connecter back in... just wont go

  • I dont get it. You just stick in the touch screen in that glass but on other videos you have to use a heat gun and stuff.. How's that?

  • ive done this procedure with 2 phones. the ear speaker on the top of the phone doesnt work AFTER I PUT THEM BACK TOGETHER. ive tried taking it apart again but still THE ear speaker DOES NOT WORK. HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM.

  • @kingdibbe Why were they really tight? I plan on doing this soon so I was just wondering.

  • @BlazingGex They are really small, you'll see.

  • this is legit

  • I need help!!!!! If my screen is broken and it has grey lines going through it with a little bit of purple do I need a new LCD or just glass and digitizer pleeeeessee get back to mee!!

  • For the heat gun, what heat level does it need to be on and what temperature ? Is it possible to separate the glass & digitizer if only 1 is broken ? Thanks. :)

  • :( my iphone screen is now destroyed and I have no idea what to do.. :( R.I.P iPhone.

  • @ashley102497 same here

  • I'm a chick that just replaced my old 3gs. And you were correct the connectors were tricky, especially the first one to put in. I wasn't sure how snug it was suppose to go in. You made it look so easy! But I got them in and it's like I have a new phone, even though I just got the 4. Oh well. Thank you though!

  • Quality video - 30 mins and my son's iphone better than before. Like some previous comments, first time I put it back together LCD not working but just needed to put connectors on properly. My tip - turn the phone back on with the screen resting in place to be sure it works, don`t push screen home and screw it in until you are happy the LCD is working fine. Many thanks

  • What if I took the tape off that covered the screws?

  • you sound like ray romano lol

  • @cheesedbh No so whiney though. "Debra we don't have enough seeeex!"

  • OMG!! you saved my life Q.Q!

  • i thinkthelcd krakd to

  • @coolalexa21 the process is the same and it won't make a difference

  • Use a butter knife if you want to fix it for free. i did it and it worked to remove the screen. Then I used the part u hold to kind of hammer the sides back around the new screen. Thumbs up me if you appreciate my advice. :)

  • My lever is gone for the third wire so parts of the touch screen don't work! Can I replace the lever?

  • how do you know if ur iphone is 3g or 3gs??

  • i just damaged the rubber between the screen and the body itself. is it possible to change it?

  • how much is a glass screen digitizer?

  • @M0oOhameed Go to Ebay. I bought the whole kit (glass, digitizer, all tools) for $8.

  • nice video !!!! you have saved many people with this video :)

  • This video is actually far better than most out there. Thanx a lot man.

  • You guys are a life-saver :) Very easy to follow instructions! Thanks!

  • I see that you sell the stuff needed to fix the phone but do you also offer the service of repairing iPhones? If so, how much does it cost? I really need to get mine fixed but I am afraid I will mess something up. Thank you! :)

  • safety goggles are for wimps!. lol :)

  • done, very good tutorial, i bought the frame and digitizer separately off ebay but didnt use the cheap frame as seeing how i had to pick the glass off the apple one to get to the button and earpiece i just cleaned it up and used it again. many thanks, tony.

  • 3 and 3gs difference.... crap, it wont let me post the pic link. google 3g 3gs digitizer difference and look for lee waterman (should be first up) basically look at the plug on the digitizer, it you see 2 rows of brass connectors (like teeth) then its 3gs if the brass connectors go from one side of the plug to the other then its 3g.

    """"" IIIIIII

    """"" 3gs IIIIIII 3g.

  • i know i drop my phone u dont need to tell me :)

  • Learn to fix anything on a iPhone, by yourself like I did ! Way easy :)

  • the only reason it was fast was because you didnt even have to touse a heater to soften the glue!!!! ive done this about 100 time and i never took the easy way out

  • if anyone has a link to view picture of the 3G and 3GS digitisers side by side can you please send to me?

I am trying to figure out if the ebay seller actually sent me the 3GS part as it is not working and that seems to be a common cause from what I have read online...also other help sights are saying that when the code is not 821-0766 -A but has a number at the end (on number 2 ribbon) then these are not working for whatever reason, may be helpfull to some??

  • Helpful tips! Thank you.

  • Thanks a lot Man!!!!

  • Brilliant, thanks very much, took me about 10 minutes and saved about £10. Thanks again! x

  • Why do the ribbon cables come in this order, 1,3,2?

  • I did exactly as you said, but the touch (3gs) dosent work properly, When I push 5 its pushes 4. The touch dosent run so smooth as it used to be.

I also have to push hard on the home button, but thats probably my own mistake.

    Plz help me

  • @Predator13371

Sounds like you didn't push cable #2 down properly, it sounds like it's half way in or something.

Try unplugging it, and pushing it down firmly on all sides.

Cable 1 is the LCD, and cable 3 is the ear piece speaker and proximity sensor. They probably work fine.

    #2 is the digitizer connection.

Give that a try, and it should register your pushes properly.

Also, your home button has a metal disk taped on loosely, it's probably off centre, re-install it centered.

    GL!

  • @DavidSunshine867 The main problem is the digitizer, It wont connect properly, I have unplugged it and reconnect it, still the same. I have also tried to keep the connection with my finger as the same time as I touched the screen, but its the same.

    connector 2 dosent click.

Is it possible to change the connector to the old one?

  • @Predator13371

It's not possible to replace the connector/ribbon from the digitizer.

But it is possible to replace the digitizer, you can buy the digizer for about $7 USD from ebay.

Pry the old digizer from the plastic frame, and just replace that.

If it still reacts the same, the connector on the motherboard is probably broken.

There are sites that replace connector #3 for around $40, they might replace #2 as well, but maybe not since it's so much more dense in conductors.

    Try ebay.

  • @Njumpman24 ....

  • i need a video that doesn't "skip all those steps". thanks for nothing.

  • @JudasGhost Youre an idiot

  • thanks man!

    very nice video!

  • wtf? My connector two and one won't go back into place. They won't click at all, they just sit on top and wont stay connected -_-

  • @SomeRandomHomosexual

The connectors need to be placed above the connectors properly, there are 2 rails of connectors, you need those to line up perfectly before pushing down, otherwise it won't connect, and won't click, and won't stay in place.

Sometimes #2 won't click, but it'll definitely be pushed in evenly and recessed, and stay in place.

#1 is a larger connector and usually clicks in, but make sure you push in on both rails of the connector, both need to be in tightly.

    Cheers.

  • i replaced the digitizer and lcd. The lcd worked for a moment then quit. Now nothing works. (the phone seems to be on and working) any ideas?

  • Lifesaver!

  • Hi,

I have an iPhone 3G that blew up because I bought a cheap crappy iPhone charger on eBay. :@ I want to sue the seller sooo bad ! :@ There were sparks flying when I plugged in the wall charger & my iPhone blew up & now is dead. I bought a new OEM charging port but it didn't work. New battery didn't work. I'm assuming it's the motherboard that's been blown up too & is dead now. Is there any way I can fix it ? Or is it damaged beyond repair ? Thanks ! :)

  • MY REVIEW 2: finally getting the new screen on we realized the mission repair screen had a screw in where there wasn't supposed to be one and it would not budge with the screw driver so we had to use a dremel & cut off a piece of metal on my phone to make it fit. Thank God for my fiance's help or I could have never done this alone. It is perfectly fine now and works pretty good. Not the same texture as the original screen. You may or may not run into the problems I had, depends on the phone.

  • @TheNatatronic I'll never let you touch my iphone bro' ;)

  • MY REVIEW: I ordered a 3gs replacement screen from mission repair along with the tools to replace my shattered screen it costed about $92 with shipping. I am satisfied and a bit disappointed at the same time. I went with this company because the instructional video was very informative. It took me and my fiance I think 2 hours to replace my screen! It is NOT east to get the screws out and we had to use a dremel and WD40 to cut tiny pieces of the plastic out to get scews out!!

  • excellent video.. I could repair my one..
