tbh you did absolutely nothing to affect the running of that power station. All you really gained was getting on a couple of peoples nerves. What you should have done was climbed those black flue cans at the top, and then you would have really got a feeling for the carbon dioxide coming out the top, and it would have been at 120 degrees C. Maybe that would have knocked some sense into you
Yep, it's the one where the jobshy from places like leeds were very green and travelled all the way down to Didcot to pretend they had an inkling about energy needs and the balance of nature.
these protesters are seriously missing brain cells if they thought that would work they only sucseded in making themselves look like brainless idiots what a waste of time
Now, I've only had a tiny look at the base of that stack, but I fail to see HOW the protesters have "secured" it! Locked doors? Unlock them! Chains? Cut them. The protester abseiling DOWN the flues (which I think they did) is another matter, but without their mates supply them with food and water, they won't last long. It's a 199 metre concrete cylinder with stairs up the inside, not fort Knox!
101merrick101 Im am sorry to greenpeace wrong people. After 2015 Npower want to build a gas station on A site not coal. no one will build new coal station not will the cost FGD (technology used for removing sulfur dioxide) and carbon capture, witch the costs are mind blowing plus the transport problems of moving that amount of liquidised carbon dioxide. As for switching to gas unit 2 can't and the other units will have oil in as a safety as well as gas. A's GTs run run on diesel oil .
Secondly, Npower are being targeted because they want to build new coal stations for *after* 2015, as opposed to building the lower-consumption decarbonised infrastructure that climate science demands of us.
Thirdly, stopping coal at Didcot means they switch to gas, a far less carbon-intensive source of power.
greenpeace's wankers strike again! grow up the site is set to close 2015. I've heard that they have done something to a coal convayor so that mean the station will have to run on OIL witch is was than coal idiots.
If Greenpeace want to make themselves useful, they need to go after wind farm NIMBY's and their incessent lies against wind power.

thank you all for your courage, your impatience with an insufferable capitalism and its dozing global spectators.... battle rages on!

razorraver1988, firstly it's not Greenpeace.
