  • I bet you can make one mean seafood casserole. I love the deep pot dishes but I request more pan dishes simply because they are cheap and easier :)

  • hey dave i have'nt cooked any of ur recipes yet but i will, i love watching ur video's!!!

  • Hey Dave - I peel potatoes the same way - but instead of throwing those peelings away - soak them in water and within the next day or two ... heat up the deep fryer and throw them in! They make really great potato skin fries! :)

  • Being from Baltimore, the home of crab cakes, I have to tell ya Dave...I have never seen this one before. But it does look good. I will have to try it out. Thanks for a different version of a CC :)

  • Your water trick is GREAT! I did that when I was making some fried cheese on the weekend and it worked really well! Thanks Dave :)

  • Hey Dave, can you use canned tuna for this receipe?

  • Maybe? I dont think I would like it with tuna. You could use canned salmon. I think it would be better.

  • Thanks Dave for your talent in the kitchen. I will try the freezing of the crab cakes. Hey, you need to contact food network and audition. Take care, PW in North Carolina.

  • Dave, enjoy all your videos.. Thanks, but I have a question. Can you freeze them after you cook them? I want to prepare some for a party. Thanks, PW

  • Hey PW! I think so? I never have but I think it will work!

You probably could even cook them frozen!

    Let me know

    Dave

  • Crab cakes are great, I just don't like how they always seem to be overpriced at restaurants. Might as well start making my own, thanks for the video.

  • Hey Dave!!

Yes, you ARE the world's greatest chef! I tried this recipe last night and it is definitely delicious!! It is an awesome "Southern Comfort Food" because after I made it for dinner, my husband and I felt so lazy....just like after a big Thanksgiving dinner. Lol! I was surprised at how filling they were with the potato!! He is begging me to make these again!! Lol!! We are from up north and I LOVE your southern cooking style!!!! Your videos are wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing!!

    Dave

  • Crab cakes

    yum yum

  • Thanks Killfisch!

    Dave

  • the thickness you skinned those potatoes at looks about right for your potato skin recipe, i think they would do good in a modified version of it :D

  • Hi Dave, this is nice. I love your cooking and I'll be sure to cook one of your recipes soon. One thing I find works really well with fish/seafood is Horseradish sauce! You wouldn't believe it, but it really does!!!

  • Hey Dave, I enjoy your recipes. Working up in the Canadian Arctic I really miss the southern cooking. Just wondering, any jambalaya recipe's?

  • Hey Kevin,

Thanks and sure i can do a jambaliya!

  • I love crab crakes and yours look so delish! I wish my hubby could cook like that.

  • I just got done making them. I made 4 patties then noticed I needed more salt and pepper. The next 4 patties tasted alot better. So for me, I recommend not skimping on spices. The possibilities are endless.

  • Hey Jay,

I am glad they worked out for you. YEAH The spices are endless!

    Dave!

  • I know it's not professionally edited but I like the fishing story and you showed us very clearly. You know I didn't search CrabCakes for nothing. They look real good. I'm going to try to make them. What burner setting for the oil?

  • That looks really good. I'm going to give it a try.

  • mmmmmmm looks nice,I like the story about the chicken neck and the string-im gonna try that

  • That's great! I allways love your food.

  • I love crab and that looks delicious. There is a little island off the west coast of scotland where they catch the most fantastic crabs. You can watch the boats come in and if you can get some straight off the back of the boat before they go to market.

Fresh crab and a little thousand island - devine.

  • Hey, I dipped one of these Crab Cakes in some Thousand Island and it was wonderful!! Thanks for the tip!

  • good eats

  • wow looks delicius, ill serve this witha huge fresh salad, is interesting because i never saw something like this before... soul food huh? amazing! I cant wait to cook this at home... thank D
