Other Protestant sects like Baptists(its founder revoked his teachings later in his life), or Anglicans (a king started a new religion so that he could divorce and go on to have six wives) are no better. I do respect Eastern Orthodox (or Russian or Greek) because of their similarities with Catholicism, but I don't see why they split. They didn't like the idea of a pope, so they made the Ecumenical Patriarch. They wanted vernacular languages, now there are. They really should converge back.

The Bible mentions 3 archangels by name Michael (Rev and Dan), Gabriel, and Raphael (Tobit). Holy mother Church forbids referencing any other archangel by name (Pope Zachary 745).

Paul, Pilate, Herod, etc are real people and there lives can be documented-lends a lot of cred to the Bible's eyewitness accounts. A week ago I came back from Football practice and noticed that my St. Michael medallion had fallen of my chain. A day ago I was in the middle of practice in a huddle when something shiny two feet in front of me caught my eye. It's not uncommon to lose steel parts of equipment. Something was telling me to go pick it up, the idea of it being what it was never crossed my mind. a) I'm Christian and believe in the angels
b) I was refering to someones askance of where the Metatron and Sandphadon were, the two of which aren't mentioned in the bible. If you looked back you would realise I wasn't arguing about the existence of angels, but the existence of more than:
a) The one archangel in the bible (Michael)
b) The possibility of Raphael and Gabriel from Tobit.
c) The unlikely status of the others.

not really he is mentioned in the talmud, there are even some referance that he was the one who stoped abraham from sacrificing isaac. Also the title as being the voice of god could be interpeted as someone who passes on orders from the almighty to lower angels like raphiel god can heal directly so why would we need raphiel and adding to that point he is know to be the highest of all angels having a throne which sits besides the divine throne but hey don't take my word for it do some research.

@nkosi8472 Yes, the Talmud. Not the bible. I've looked through, and as I've said previously on this page, the only angels I firmly believe in are Michael and Gabriel who are mentioned. Though I'm not willing to say the rest are total fiction, it would take a lot to persuade me. The only evidence for Metatron is located in Jewish Kabalist, mystic and occultist writings. Do you want to take these peoples word? Because they also claim Metatron was Christ in heaven. An angel. Thats blasphemy.

If Christ is not a human. Which the bible makes a big issue of. He IS human. Then this does not work. An angel of God is a keen and pure servant of righteousness. This is their nature, as our nature is to sin. If Christ is not human, it doesn't count. We're screwed, it becomes pointless, so in Christian terms there is NO WAY Christ can be Michael the archangel.

Everyone trys to use the bible as a source for truth but on fact this is all theory because new one has actually gone to the other side and came back with actual proof. Paul, Pilate, Herod, etc are real people and there lives can be documented-lends a lot of cred to the Bible's eyewitness accounts. This is not about the books that Luther removed. I am not interested in taking that bait. Tradition, both Jewish and Christian has taught about the angels for over 2,500 yrs. This belief is not nec. for salvation, but it's helpful info. Not everything has to be explicitly spelled out in the Bible, that is your rule, not God's. His is to obey the people He puts in authority over us, but, you ignore that rule.

Normal Bible mention seven greats (archangels), Rafael and Michael are part of this. We cannot be sure about Gabriel.
It is part of orthodox tradition if you know what it is, we catholics had 3 others (Simiel, Oriphiel and Zerachiel) after Uriel on pre-Zacharian times.

Catholicism came about with a roman emperor Constantine, who believed that if he couldn't win them by force he would win their hearts. Constantine had a vision of a cross before a military battle (this would be unGodly,.. to proclaim the cross as a guidance for war). A week ago I came back from Football practice and noticed that my St. Michael medallion had fallen of my chain. A day ago I was in the middle of practice in a huddle when something shiny two feet in front of me caught my eye. It's not uncommon to lose steel parts of equipment. Something was telling me to go pick it up, the idea of it being what it was never crossed my mind. I picked it up and saw it was my St. Michael medallion.Thank you God for blessing me with this miracle.

I can't stress at least in my own life, how the Angels have been helping me open up to grace to shed the vices I thought I couldn't!
Like loving brothers, they lead you to Jesus. Angel love is really very tender and strong like a loving parent. It really is.

During the past year, I have been praying to my Guardian Angerl, St. Michael and St. Rapheal. And I am finding myself drawn more and more to Jesus!

Arch Angels are there to guide us.When you call upon them they help you. Arch Ange Michael is known for driving away demonic spirits. He did and does that for me still. They are not God but work for him. There are beings in heaven that work for Christ. If you read your bible it tells you lots of stories where God has used angels &arch angels. Take for instance, Raphael was sent to Tobias,Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, Michael to cast Lucifer to hell and the list goes on and on...

@vaan1236 A famous analogy is the wife and husband. God is the man of the house, would you rather present a pig, etc. (representing your prayer) directly to him, or would you give it to the wife first (Mary, saints, angels,etc.) who knows how he likes it, and will prepare it to his liking?
