Excellent Great film!! - directed by Micheal Cimino who did the 'Deer Hunter' - and great performance by Mickey Rourke - but amazingly, this film was not well reviewed by critics at the time - just remember that when reading film reviews - and ask what great films have these 'critics' ever made!? they have the audacity to think their reviews are great art - yeah right -
This was one of my favorite classics from Oscar nominate Mickey Rourke, and starting tomorrow night on ABC I am rooting for this man for his lead role in The Wrestler.
Mickey Rourke really has had a bad rap...he's incredibly talented, and with his Oscar nomination with "The Wrestler", I hope he can keep up the good work and not fall into another self-destructive whirlpool

Great, bloody, brutal, controversial but unfortunately so truthful movie.
Mickey Rourke, John Lone, Caroline Kava did a great job.

The gritty, smelly, etheral veritas of New York sucks one into this movie and makes you forget about the overacting and the dated cliches.
Shouting is not acting. Breaking shit is not acting. Puffing on a cigarette is not acting.
Mickey Rourke pulls these all together and acts dammit!
Screw you buddy if you can't find it on your own without a g'damn seeing eye dog, Playbill and a Sherpa in broad daylight!
