Iran is not a threat to the U.S.  If Iran or any other country ever used a nuke on us they'd be a smoking hole in the ground. End the American Empire overseas. Bring the troops and the money home. Ron Paul or not at all in 2012!

@travisxxx23 You don't need a missile all you have to do is put a nuclear warhead in a sealed lead container. Install that container in an oil tankers filled oil tank(cant open it due to oil flooding the ship) and sail the ship into any us harbor.

@travisxxx23 Well I don't know about that. I read an article that said they've already put a Comm Satelite in orbit and last week they tried to put a chimp in orbit but the rocket failed. If they can put a CommSat in orbit, they might be able to launch a nuke, but they'd need much more time to make the nuke small enough to be viable. That said, who are we to say Iran can't develop technology in their own country? And, would Iran actually use a nuke? I don't think so. It would be suicide.

I love Ron Paul because he gives us the hard truth. What he is proposing does sound radical however i'm beginning to believe that we have been so "dumbed down" that we are starting to believe that Common Sense is Radical! We've been given handouts too long and it's time to start paying for them. I am as guilty as anyone because a few years ago i believed the Government owed me something. However, it's not their job to provide for my family, It's my Job! I'm ready to take on that responsibility!!

@tfreshish Spot on brother. That's where the term "the Sheeple" comes from. We've been raised to say the Pledge of Allegiance (nothing wrong with that) and taught that America is the greatest country in the world and can do no wrong. Ronald Reagan, God rest his soul, ran our debt up to $2 Trillion in order to bankrupt the Soviets, and in doing so won the Cold War. While I believe it was worth every penny, unfortunately that set the stage for unlimited Gov't spending ever since.

Even the "moderate" position of "well it doesn't matter how you pray to god as long as you pray" assumes that anyone who isn't religious is obviously immoral and unacceptable. @waynie11 you may have a mistaken idea of what an atheist actually is. In fact, virtually no atheist affirms that they "know god does not exist", which is a common misconception. It's merely that, given a lack of convincing evidence for the existence of a god, they default to nonbelief. So it's essentially giving the same answer for God as for Santa. Most agnostics have essentially the same position as most atheists.

You're right about Jefferson, he was more a deist than anything else. Cheers!

Rights are not endowed by government or God, else God would have stopped all the violations for the last thousands of years. Rights technically don't exist. They are ideas. Our constitution with amendments is supposed to garauntee that the government will acknowledge that these ideas should not be violated and that the government has no authority to violate these principles.
