Yes. Then Sgt Samuel K. Doe in 1979-1980 and a group of indigeous Liberian army officers killed Americo Liberian president William Tolbert and took control. in the 80's and 90's President taylor and the americo liberians fought Doe who was later captured and killed. the two groups have been fighting before the arrest of Taylor.
