just depends how you interpret it....I am sliding down the fret broad, but as you slide down the fret board the note gets a higher pitch or goes "up".....thanks for watching

oh and just to let you know your guitar was pretty out of tune in this video. Mine was in tune and i played my middle d to urs it sounded wack. lol. doesnt matter though the main thing is that the tutorial was sweet

This guy plays accurately but it seems he doesn't love the song pretty much. you know what people play guitar with real acoustic sound is because they love to playing the song and their souls attached on it as well for instance Andy McKee is one of them and he is the best acoustic guitar player ever!!!

I think that's unfair. You can't play with your heart and soul when it's all stop start in a tutorial - that's not what this vid is about. You have to love this song to persevere with learning it (trust me I know) and love it even more to spend this amount of time breaking it down to teach others.

hey thanx for the videos, but can i just give you some advice? try to hit your harmonics waaay softer, be gentle with your guitar man! You play it a bit stiffy, it'll sound better. Just hit the string and try not to make them hit the guitar soyou dont have the "tsht" sound :D

Yet again, terrible technique. What is that, your song, "Trifding"? If you're gonna keep this tutorial, call it "My tutorial on my cover of Drifting," because this song is not Drifting.

Andy McKee is the only one who plays drifting, the closest anyone can come is playing what I call, "A not-as-inaccurate cover" of Drifting.

Actually this Tutorial does help, even if it sounds a little off, he's admitting that himself; no?

With this tutorial it's giving me, personally, some guidance of how to play Drifting where as i'd be clueless otherwise. Just because he named the video "Andy McKee - Drifting, Tutorial" doesn't mean it's going to be absolutely perfect, note to note.

Kudos to groovin5hoovin for being generous to post a tutorial at all, he could've just gone and not shared any detail of the song at all.

but isnt the title of this video " A.N.D.Y M.C K.E.E drifting tutorial." its supposed to sound like the original song. U teach people the wrong thing and u dont even want to be responsible for that. U may as well didnt even put this tutorial up. I respect the fact that u want to help other people learn the song but heck ur doing it all wrong. it's not completely wrong, it's 85% right. I understand that your think it's wrong and that your obviously disapointed with it. i dont mean to be harsh but u listen to urself play and u think whether or not it sounds like the original song..if it doesnt then u find the mistake and u learn it fron another source...dont go around teaching how to play drifting the wrong way...ull end up confusing people and recieve coments alot more harsh than this....i recomend u make another set of new tutorials

I know that this part is different than the original song, If you look in my info for the song I mention that I play it differently. It took me a really long time to make these tutorials and i'm not making another one. My tutorial is the only one that teaches the whole song, whether or not it's 100% correct. I'll let someone else make the next tutorial for "Drifting". P.S. Drifting has been on you tube for over a year. Why do you think no one else has put up a total tutorial on how to play it???

point of intrest, when your recording a video on a cheap camera, playing on a $400 guitar that is not amped up you need to do more than 'graze' the harmonic to get the sound out of it.
