if earth spins on its axis around just over 1000 mph then why dont we see this in videos shot of earth from space? if we orbit the sun at about 67,000 miles per hour why do we not notice things whizzing around above our heads, shots from space like videos from ISS seem so motionless? anyone care to explain....

@schmiigle i spend alot of time at the beach, and each time i watch the sunset,i counted at least 200 seconds from the time the body of the sun appears to touch the horizon to the point where it is obscured by the earth. If you were stationary (relatively, without the effects of the earth pulling you into its gravity/orbit but traveling at the same speed as the earth) it would appear at least maybe fourty times slower? just an opinion, i don't know for sure.

Awesome video! I would love it if NASA or a satellite (private or govt) would take a 24 hour 1080p HD video of earth rotating with the sun in the background (similar to this video), and make a time lapse (so it looked like this video). I've always wondered why NASA doesn't make a 2hr move for the theaters (& Blue Ray) that shows numerous different photos and videos of Earth from space (not zoomed-in, but zoomed-out). NASA shuttles are expensive; so use a satellite or a few with 1080p HD cameras.
