Everything he said is true but if you asked him to compare a highly modified gt3 and turbo (on a track or on the street) I'm sure he would take a well modified turbo. For less than 20 grand you could be racing Virons with a 850+ hp 996 turbo. No way can you get power like that from an NA flat 6 engine. Also if you want it to be lighter you can do that yourself rather than pay porsche for less car.

GT3 is faster around a race track than Turbo and far more thrilling and exciting to drive compared to Turbo. There is a reason why Walter said he would never take the Turbo over the GT3 to a race track.

The GT3 has AC. It's a delete option on the RS model if you want to save a bit of weight.

I think Walter closes the case on the 911 GT3 vs. the Turbo. Great points on both accounts. Thankfully we don't have to deal with too much snow in Southern California to need a 4WD but the Turbo is still a phenomenal automobile, in a league of its own.

A GT3 hasn't got stability control, and for information, on a slow track, a GT3 is as quick as an Exige but on a fast one, the GT3 is quicker, the only problem is that the GT3 is more difficult to understand and to tame, the Exige is very easy, even the first time you drive it.

well the gt3 is miles ahead in terms of handling. porsche pretty much just threw a soft setup 4wd on the turbo where the gt3 has the race derived track tuned 2wd.

on hockenheim short (sport auto) the gt3 did a 1:10.4, compare to 1:11.9 for the turbo. i dont remember the exact time on the autozeitung test track but it was more than a second faster there as well.
