• i´ve already bought it years ago!

  • lol, the edge´s brother, how is he called, the corner? lol

  • If you can't dance to this you deserve to be in a wheelchair!!

  • It was an accident i didn't mean it!!!

  • I downloaded this album, and it had this song in another version and comparing it to this, it looks like this one is remixed! does anybody know what I'm talking about and why there are 2 different versions?

  • I bought this album back in '82, so I guess I'm supporting them!! 'It was an accident, I didn't mean it' Well actually I did mean it! LOL

  • amazing song!!!!

  • awesome!!!

  • Bought the album yesterday =]

  • Bought it about a thousand years ago!!

  • @moonbatt same here, remember listening to Baby turns blue while revising for my baccalaureat so that would have been 1984-1985...

  • @klaraklu Yup right in the heyday of Death Rock and Goth..they played this at the clubs I went to and the zombies, vamps and freaks would get they black garbed groove on..love this song!

  • this is a great album iv been listening to it since it came out!

  • OH my GOD I haven't heard this song FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR <333

  • why do people feel the need to take some band....and break it down to figure out where their influence came from? does it really fucking matter that much? "ohh dude this traces back to so and so band from the 1970's mannn and without that band THIS band wouldn't exist!!" and then of course it follows with how those older bands are sooo much better. dude seriously.....just listen to the damn song and shut up. it's a good song and i really don't care where it derives from.

  • איפה איפה הימים היפים של הפינגווין ??

  • I love the Virgin Prunes!

  • In 2005 the music mag MOJO gave away a free compilation CD called U2 Jukebox...it was comprised of songs both past & present that they liked and/or influenced them. Some of the artists were Modest Mouse, Pere Ubu, The Futureheads, Sioussie & The Banshees, AND Virgin Prunes. Like U2 or not, they are one of the biggest worldwide and an endorsement like that from them can do nothing but great things for a band.

  • great song ty !!!!!

  • Sooo f* good....their best album IMHO

  • they're famouse because of U2 XD

  • @UtwoOneMaster They're not famous, you retard. And U2 fucking sucks compared to this

  • @MarinoXDesun

You cannot compare the style of U2 at the style of The Virgin Prunes. I onlly say the true. Out of Ireland , they're only famous because of U2.

  • @UtwoOneMaster Of course I can compare them to U2, both started as a Post-Punk outfit. And man, I don't think they are known because of U2. I don't listen to that kind of shit and like the Prunes :)

  • @MarinoXDesun

    ok...I don't know the situation in your country so I can't opine;)sorry

but sorry, you can't compare this to U2. U2 is rock pop. this is hard rock;)

  • It was an accident I didn't mean it.

  • great rock vampire !

  • one of the best bands to come out of ireland, when i'm traveling and meet people and they say oh your irish what about u2 and i say f*** u2 how's a bout the prunnes and slf.

  • @oldburnout hey guggi and bono are good friends so no need to bash mainstreem that quickly

  • @oldburnout The Prunes were good friends of U2 back in the day. I think one of the members was a relative of one of U2's members if I remember rightly.

  • @Cromper

they where formed with "Bono" of U2 when they all where kids, Bono find U2, another guys made they own project.

  • @Cromper

they where formed with "Bono" of U2 when they all where kids, Bono find U2, another guys made they own project.

BTW i find this band not becuzU2, i rly dont listen to U2, i just read this on web.

BTW i find this band not becuz of U2, i rly dont listen to U2, i just read this on web.

  • @proviking wait... WHAT?!?!?! How is this death rock????

  • @TheClodey How is this NOT Deathrock?

  • The best. a-round.

  • i dont like what im realizing,i worked for guggi,,him and his wife sybille, and they rode me,and id say the system too,,,,tax exiles, too much up there own arse if you ask me.......too much cash and a load of shit!!!!!!

  • Great track :)

  • rock it needs to start playin shit like this!!!

  • Yet another band I got to know thanks to the unforgettable DJ Luc Jansen, who finally got fired after farting into the microphone. Or at least that's how the legend has it..

  • What should we do if BABY TURNS BLUE? Inmortal lines.

  • this vocals are crazy

  • very cool song. used to be played in the gothic side at ROCK IT in california.... cool..

  • This songs means alot to me. Thanks for putting it up. O_o

  • esto si es vampire gothic rock y del bueno

  • one of the best bands from the goth days gone by , was lucky enough to see them a few times , class ...........

  • Ahh one of my favs by the virgin prunes.

  • @steve66b did you just say there is no goth scene in japan? dude, theres a huge one. granted a lot of the bands are shitty gothic metal, but its there none the less.

also, great song. gotta love the prunes.

  • @Kzierbold He probably means gothic rock/deathrock scene. visual kei doesn;t count

  • @Kzierbold uhmm one problem with that comment.. Gothic Metal does not exist and is not goth. Gothic Metal is one of those made up genres that little kids who don't fit in make up. Kind of like folk metal or goth techno... Infact name a band you think is goth metal and I can tell you the real genre :).

  • @twitch6000 very true.

  • Comment removed

  • @twitch6000 Actually this band is what you call Death Rock, it died out in the early 90's... Mostly...Mostly...

As for Gothic metal, most Doom metal gets tossed into that genre, arguably Anathema's ever evolving style at one point is the closest most bands have ever gotten to being something so weird/unique that they could be classified as "gothic metal"

  • gimme money gimme sex gimme food and cigarettes!

oh high school....this song brings back memories lol

  • remember dancing wildly to this song as we tore down all of the new years decorations in the kennel club

  • I have the origina vinyl-all offers considered

  • great bonin' song from my youth

  • iff i'm right are the brother of the edge of U2 and 2 friends of bono in this band...

  • i am gothic too and bored like hell if anyone is up for chat let me know

  • you are not, i am! there can only be one! GOTHIC!!

  • @gothicdreamx88 Yeah i am borec too nad i live in Japan. boring music , no scene.

  • @steve666b i imagine

  • I love it it brings back great memories of The Banshee in Manchester in the 80's. Green Monster anyone!!!

  • Its nice to see the Psychedelic Furs are still going...

  • I don't think the song is shit, actually is a very good song for dancing...but maybe the ones who don't dance much cannot appreciate:)

  • I agree, At least the song has lyrics which mean something and a melody - not like most of the shite spewed out nowadays.

  • nice memories, thx 4 upload! =)

  • i am totally into the goth lifestyle btw any guys want to meet up with a goth girl like me

  • LOVE goth/post punk stuff

  • Pure Gothic gold. brings back so many memories of over 25 years ago. The lyrics are wow and as I shuffle along this mortal coil "if I die, I die."

  • this song is the shit.

  • GOTHS

  • One of the best albums ever made and most people will never get to know that thanks to mindless commercial radio's boring bland taste.

  • what a luck, me thinks, there were enough good sounds killed by music-industry...

  • love the bass line. the bass lines in all their songs are amazing in general.

  • @arlykamikaze They bass parts really are, I wish I could find the tab for it. Because I understand the general notes, but I'm not getting it perfect. xD

  • bad ass club track....you gotta get the collin newman remix

  • La gran joya musical Gotica que hizo escante en toda Latino-America! El estilo es inigualable y unico.

  • Love these guys, they had their own unique vibe, and this is probably their best track. Thanks for posting this!

  • Buy the album but I bought the single 25 years ago !

  • im totally new to this...

    this is awesome...

  • Give me money give me sex; give me food and cigarettes . . . . fan-bleedin-tastic. SFX in 1984 if my memory serves me well !!!!!!

  • Freaking awesome bass!!

  • great song

  • Cant find this album.s soon as the music started i remmebred this track.Wished they would have lasted longer. Was there a second l.p., The concept and sound work.

  • I have loads of their vinyl, that I bought at the time,I`m going to dig it out tomorrow, and see exactly what I have.

Unfortunately we never saw them live.

    So regret that.

  • takes me back to the 90's.. my bro used to play this song all the time..

  • I've got to dig this album back up!

  • Love it, been singing it since it came out. A real gem :-)

  • The catacomb with its sticky carpet, good days

  • Every few years I "rediscover" the VPs and realize I'm still very into them. Good shit, kids.

  • any one thinking of the catacomb club .manor house ,

  • The Catacombs, jebus but that takes me back. I always preferred it to the 'Lekky Ballroom, much more intimate and never any hassles with the bouncers. Although it was a bit of a bugger getting back to Crouch End afterwards...

  • Having a trip down memory lane, and found this. Shit, I remember dancing to this at The Third Side Club in Bournemouth, a regular haunt of mine back in the early/middle 1980's

  • And dance with the Pagans...

  • Totally buying the album on Friday.

  • yes this is totally cats meow

  • love it please come back

  • the best song ever, make more, forget about bono, go back to your roots, nick

  • please reform love your music, please reform, we need music like this again

  • Amo esta canción de los virgin prunes

"Give me money, Give me sex, Give me food And Cigarettes" jeje

    ♥♥

  • I love this song!:D

It's so diffrent from all the crap playing now that "my generation" appreciates

    X{

  • Great song and great band!!

    That's true goth music!

  • Amen to that it seems like yesterday I was dancing to this at the Crypt and Helter Skelter in L.A.

  • Helter Skelter...fond memories! This song takes me right to the dance floor! Right after, I'd expect to hear Nina Hagen's Born in Xixax!

  • Are there any clubs left in LA that are worth going to? I might have to head out there for biz. Darkwave is getting more popular in NYC but it's usually only played in small bars in Williamsburg.

  • Not really, only one I should say...but they're looking for a venue again. It's called Funeral...you can find them on My Space, or under the owner's name, Veronika Sorrow :)

  • stupenda questa canzoneeeee

  • SO damn good. Great Track from The Prunes, always gets me dancing you gotta love it! :)

  • Definitive trad goth track from my teen years

  • @strangeegan this is my favorite track from them. just great...........

  • Awesome :D

  • I think I'm totally in love with this :D

  • Many, many thanks for uploading this video - one of my alltime favourites songs.

Sadly, The Virgin Prunes have always been a MUCH underrated band in the mainstream music community, though an inspiration to many other artists who came after them I'm sure!

  • I'll play guitar :) lol

  • Excellent. Another guitarist. This is shaping up quite nicely.

  • My cat is enjoying this.. Like mummy shes a little old school GG...

  • My original vinyl has seen some many miles, and still sounds relevant and fresh. And, oh shit - my 14-year-old daughter has discovered it. Imagine my surprise when I come home and hear it blaring over the house system.. and see 6 other teenagers ABSOLUTELY appreciating it. My tastes continue to grow and change, and the early ones still seem to hold up. But I think I'm preaching to the choir here.....

  • love this song.

  • then why are you istening to it? Take your angst hence.

  • @alexis1882:

    "the" shit, you mean.

  • excellent track

  • I swear I left a comment on this before :)

It was an accident, I didn't meaaan it :) brilliant song of the Prunes

  • I first heard this in a Gothic Anthology CD, it was amazing ♥

  • is that the "this is goth" album?

I have that ^^ its awesome, even though not al bands on it are considered goth...

  • my god got the album bought it in 86 lol want the vid

  • I wish I was born in the 80's

  • I wish I was born in the late 60's so I would've been a teenager in the 80 xD

  • true but then stop and think how old we'll be shivers

  • I know it's a hard reality to live with. Who knows maybe there will be a goth revival in our youth?

  • I know that would be awesome but then again I like to be the undead because goth never died they just went underground

  • Then lets rise up and take over.

  • believe me ...you don't want this !!! you will be 40 years old now and want to be 20 again lol!! and things were as difficult then than it is now!!

  • at least you 40'ers lived in an age where goth was pretty much accepted...

nowadays you get called satanist by the media and mallgoth by the older goths :P

  • Fair point. I think we should bring the Goth culture back to its former GLORY

  • yeah, let start a band! even though I have no musical talents whatsoever :D

  • Dibs on singer!

  • I'll play bass then ;)

  • Excellent.

Anyone out there up to play drums/guitar? Anything?

  • yeah people, dont leave us hanging!

    show the gawff spirit!

a 2 man band looks sad...

  • Exactly.

    WHO ELSE IS IN?

  • pfssh nobody's even slightly interested!

    I guess this is it...

we are the only 2 proper goths out there *sad violi~er I mean bass music*

  • o....k. You just stick with your bass, dear

  • I probably should... my violin isnt what it used to be, back in the days touring with gypsies...

but I'm drifting here, we shouldnt only make a band, we have to set up a huge goth-festival!

    think big - do bigger

  • Well, there's already WGW, but I get what you mean, something of bigger proportion? Hmmm...... We Should.

  • dont ya mean WGT?

cause im certainly going this year =)

  • WGW - Whitby Goth Weekend

  • Aha that one :)

I saw a documentary about that on here...

too far away for me (I live in Holland), though it does look like a blast!

maybe in the future when im a retired "gray-bat" ;)

  • I'm going next month =]

  • What makes you think that it was accepted?? Im almost 40 and In Boston where I was a Gothster back in the 90s we'd get knocked, big-time right in public 24-7!! ...and Boston was "tolerance-mecca"!! It was MUCH easier to be a Transsexual or a Transvestite than it was to be GOTH! lol

  • Wow, 8 thumbs up for that idiotic, tired comment, lol. People.

  • what the hell is that supposed to mean?

  • This song gets stuck in my head all the time. God do I love it.

  • Mi cancion preferida de los Virgin y un discazo tambien. Que lastima que no continuen...enfins.

  • So much energy on this song!! I love it, the most innovative, creative band ever!!!

  • God! this was the song of the late 80's!

  • more like 82/83 !

  • es lo mejor

    loe mejor

    I Love Virgin Prunes!!

    guggi♥

  • Love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • GREAT song!

  • I always loved them! :D Always will.

  • Hell yeah fond memories to the tune :)

  • Awesome-o!

  • i have the album!
