  • Hi there I'm a bit confused because in my country I'm an afrikaaner I've been to holland but isn't computer rekenaar. I'm and Afrikaans speaker so I know computer as that.

  • Goede video man, hopelijk leren mensen er echt iets van!

    ~Een echte nederlander

  • I want a Dutch flag :/

  • peace - vrede... it's kinda funny because vrede means anger in Norwegian :)

  • oh and other thing... what exactly is "van het"?/?

  • hey what is song at beginning???

  • Its my first time watching u and I love it! Ur awesome and cute hahaa I soooo want to learn to speak Dutch!:)

  • Hi, i'm curious as to whether certain words in Dutch are masculine or feminine like in German or French certain actions and certain objects need different words before them to show that they are masculine or femenine. For example, Le livre and La table. The book (masculine) the table (feminine). Thank you and i hope i have explained this well enough. (I got confused myself when reading my own comment)

  • @mcrichierich

yes we also have masculine and feminine words but in dutch is it really hard te learn

  • HAHA. Funny opening.

  • I like how you pronounce the letter K in KNAP for the word "handsome". I actually do that as a joke when I pronounce the word knife, like KA-NIFE. I don't know why it's spelled with a K because we don't pronounce it. And then we pronounce "school" with a K and it doesn't even have one, haha.

  • People should know that people use vriend to mean boyfriend too, so if a boy says "Kan ik je vriend zijn?" to a girl, it might be interpreted to mean "Can I be your boyfriend?"

  • Ah, this is great..you seem to get a lot of questions with love phrases haha.

  • hey ericos just wanted to say that your learn Dutch videos are ace and very helpful

  • I know Lecker is the german word for delicious. Is it similar in Dutch?

  • @jaketownsend36

    Lekker in Dutch.

  • You're awesome!! I'm from Brazil and I love your language. Your course helps me a lot to learn Dutch! I also learn German. Can I ask you a question: if you're Dutch, can you understand and the german people speak in their language and vice versa?

  • Nederlands is leuk!!! I always wanted to say that in context :)). Blijf het goede werk.

  • In dutch you have three ways to make the continous. 1 you don't use it and say: ik slaap/ ik lees( I read) 2 Ik ben aan het slapen/lezen 3 Ik lig te slapen/ ik zit te lezen. the third is a bit more difficult. You literally say I lie and sleep and I sit and read. So you give more information about how you are doing it. You can do this with Ik zit (sit)/ lig (lie)/ loop (walk)/ sta (stand) depending on the situation.

  • Actually, regarding “I am sleeping”, in Dutch you could technically say “Ik ben slapende” but it is old-fashioned and not in common use anymore.

  • @sjmulder adding to that: it would make more sense to simply say “ik slaap” (“I sleep”)

  • haha heel cool :) jaja nederlands is echt een grappige taal, toch? :)

  • goed !!!!!!! dank u

  • Why do you want to learn dutch is a stupid country trust me. The only thing thats good about here are De Efteling.

  • @Rooverlovesmusic thanks very much! Dank je wel! This cleared things up for me. You're English is very good by the way.

  • Hey, ericos, I was just wondering, what's the difference between jou and je?

Are they formal and informal you? Or singular or plural? for example, in Ik mis jou, is that formal?

  • @rldaniels95 They are the same. You use them in the same moments actually. We also have 'jouw' and that means your.

  • Ik hou van jou sounds almost like ich hau meine frau xP (i hit my wife in german)

  • Knap is good-looking, en je spelling valt soms ook tegen man, maar in ieder geval leuk dat deze videos er zijn.

  • "No no no we are not in Fraance" xD

Im French by the way haha

  • Learning dutch for me is quite easy because a know German.

That is prob all wrong - all I know is this guy is NOT TEACHING dutch.

  • Ik hou van jou.

  • Ik heb je nederlandsvideos dolgraag sinds sommer gekijd. Ik vind ze heel interessant. Ik volg nu een nederlandscursus, maar mijn docent komt uit België. Ik woon in Duitsland, maar ik ben Amerikaan.

Het Nederlands is veel simpelder als het Duits! Je Engels is zeer goed!

    Groetjes!

  • woo I'm (slowly) getting better with some of the words. But I have to ask, did you learn English when you were older, or have you known it since you were a kid? I'm curious to know since you seem to be really good at translating and speaking both languages! I wish I could speak more than one language well, but all I know other than English is a tiny bit of French. And now a tiny bit of Dutch too I guess =]

  • GOOD! Oh, I got it on school when I was like 11. But never used it. I started using it in October 2007, so yeah, I learned a lot only by talking on the internet. =]] I improved so much since then.

  • Je bent een heel schattig jongetje. Ik hou van je video's kijken. Ik spreek je snel!

  • WAUW! That was good Dutch. Where have you learned that? *wink* <3

  • Ik heb veel geheimen. Sommige zijn klein en sommige zijn groot.

  • OMGOMG!!!! Tell me tell me... im getting really curious now.

  • Yay for dutch lessons :p haha :D

Even though I speak dutch, it's always nice to see your face :)

  • HAHA aw, wat lief! =]

  • Dutch sounds like Plattdütsch

  • What's 'Plattdütsch'?

  • German dialect most commonly found in the Northern regions with regional differences.

    e.g.:

Hochdeutsch (normal German): auf der Straße

    Büttger Platt: op de Stroot

  • loved it!!!

  • YAY! <3

  • that's weird, "mooi" sounds exactly like the Finnish "moi", which means "hi" :D so.. we are kinda calling each other beautiful when we meet.. awesome!! ^^

  • HAHA really? That's funny!

  • dutch is really hard

  • It really is! YES! But it needs a lot of practise. *wink*

  • How do you mean its hard :D its very easy :D (waar hebben jullie het over, Nederlands is heel makkelijk) :D

  • LOL!

  • Funnieg> grappig XD
