you have gorgeous locs - another trick to that is to use a clarifying shampoo or add a little apple cider vinegar to the shampoo and let the mixture sit on your locs or hair for at least 5-10 minutes before rinsing. That will give time for the residue to breakdown without too much agitation, which can weaken locs that have a lot of new growh at the roots. Blessings!
Check out dreadcap.com also go on youtube and see dread cap review. Look at a 27'inch dread cap that comes in all colors. Thank you and have a nice day. Pass it on.
Yous locs are just awesome! I am considering getting locs but I am still learning about my options. How long have you had yours done and what should I do to get similar to yours? Again, I have seen great locs but I think that yours are the most beautiful yet. Thanks for posting :)
i wanna take this woman to the beach and make love in the sand/ i wanna get icecream and hold her hand/i wanna be there when things get tough/ i wanna go down and lick her m***.
Um I have a question. What size would your sections have to be to get dreads that thin? Those she has are the size I'm looking for and my hair is about 6in long right now.
i have somewhat thicker locks. for the past 3 months. and I feel i maybe have not been washing the shampoo off correctly. there seems to be this waxy/white residue left in my locks. i used the dreadheadhq shampoo for a bit. then switched to the knotty boy one (smells like mint). anywho. i am worried maybe it's mold? it doesnt smell too bad, but i am worried about what it is and how to take it off since it's really in there. mainly in the roots, the rest of the locks are fine. thanks.
You can't really do much about it. I have some too (after using Selsun Blue) and I try, everytime i wash my hair to scrape the stuff out but it doesn't work but I believe the home conditioner of washing you hair with water + apple cider vinegar + Rosemary works. the rosemary kills the ACV rinse and makes it smells nice and the ACV kills the bacteria/buildup/dirt. TRY IT!
because the selsun blue (I have the Selsun Salon brand in the sky blue bottle) and it leaves buildup in my hair (even if I'm washing my hair for an hour!) and it usually shows around the roots as white powder-like substance on the loc and its hard to get out. so i stopped using it and just use the vinegar/bakiing soda rinse. it gets all that stuff out.
whats up my youtube people i have a question... i have real skinny dreads & im trying to twist atleast 3 or 4 together to make them bigger because when they get longer they might break off, but what can i use to make it stay without getting it platted? can somebody please respond? thanx... oh yeah im black so i got black people hair (just thought i'd slide dat in dere) oh yeah check out my commercial to see how skinny they are, there a lot longer now but you get the point
all you have to do is take one lok at a time and slide it through the lok which is the (very root of the lock)part the open root of the lok and slide the loks through one at a time soon as you do that get some gel and twist maybe a half of them, the loks will not stay like that,it will become a thick lok until it grows together as one give it time, i had to do a lok that was thinning as time go by it will become one i hope this is helpful
ok i am a white girl with almost waist lengh hair and i have decided after lots of though to get dreadlocks,i have a black girl friend whos willing to do it for me,i was wondering if i should maybe cut my hair to the middle of my back to make it easier,im so confused im not good at sitting for along time
i dont know if youve decided yet but waist length hair will take a helluva a long time to dread. i would cut it to shoulder length or shorter to make it easier. just an opinion though.
Don't cut it! Find a Loctician who knows what they are doing. With long hair, your locs will loc faster and look sooo good. Send me a note if you need more advice on it!
You guys who are saying that white people shouldnt be trying to wear dreads cause its a black thing...well thats like white people getting upset that black girls get their hair relaxed to look like theres...think about it.
I so agree! We cant have anything for ourselves. Search for dreadlocks you get a load of white people. I remember the braids in the late 70's was called the 'Bo Derek look'. I think thats why black folk call them 'Locs' now.
Dreadlocks were worn all throughout history by many cultures, there were the Celts, The Swedes, The Aborigine people,Hindu people, Dreads were worn in biblical days(John The Baptist and Samson)
some African tribes wore dreads, then lastly Jamaicans in the late 40's at Leonard Howells Pinnacle. All hair will lock even straight hair will lock naturally.
Its not a matter of race its a matter of taste.
Dreads are not braids just so you know..
the term dreadlocks came from jamaica as an insult
Yes, but seridad is right in that, even though locked hair has been in all these cultures and times, whites in THIS country did not start doing it as a group until blacks did. And, for the most part, blacks have been doing it as a part of cultural expression- as the "unperm" or "unbalhead" for men.
So many blacks DO feel that,at this point in time, in this country dreads are "ours" and that, as with every thing from big lips and rock and roll, it is an expression that has been hijacked.
I partly agree with you, I know that the black man is the most immitated person today. But Locked hair is equally white, hindu,Aborigine as it is African. I personally don't see people in terms of race. I have locks for many reasons mostly spiritual reasons. Im not trying to steal culture or anything, I grew locks as a sign of respect for Ras Tafari and Rasta Culture and my early ancestry in europe. If Jah didnt want me to have locks, he would of made my hair un-lockable.
Cute

Uh no wait forget that question. Um... ok instead I'll just ask what kind of locs are those? I'm still trying to do some research about this.
phalanx237 3 years ago
considering how thin they are, id have to take a guess and say that they are comb twisted dreads, they only work on african textured hair.

I'm black and I can honestly say anyone can wear dreads.
anyone can have dreads,
aborigines wore them back in the day and ancient China as well.
any black person or white person who says you can't is ignorant and needs to read some books
