one sir to another, why thank you sir! I'm from New England area of the USA, my dad had a successful local country band from the 60s-90s, I joined him in the early 90s, love most all country music before 1970, after that time it slowly went down hill, and went into a tail spin by the late 1980s. no comparison now. but thats fine, we got all the classics like jimmy and hank, and thats fine with me.....
I love Hank Snow, he was very good. I listened to his music when I was a little girl. He is the only singer who could sing [ I've been everywhere] best.
Hank was a very close mmeber of my family! Not by blood, but he called my Grandmother "Mother", and my mom was a rodeo singer on thr Calgary Stampeed and met Hank, as he was from nova Scotia!! I am from NaSHVILLE, as Hank lived htere and helped my Canadian mom move there!! My Mother sang with Hank!!
This is a tremendously insightful piece of nostalgia. I was blown away seeing Hank Snow interviewed in his later years. Remarkable about his influences from Jimmie Rodgers ... who would have thought he could have made it so big when his own 'idol' was so poorly known. Fascinating! Thanks for posting this.
I'm posting a $25 dollar reward to the first person who posts the video of Hank playing the song in the video shown above. It has to be the complete song and the one in this video. Post it and get a hold of me and I'll mail you the money!
@ejdiii333 i hear you sir!!or madam!!!!it dont matter where you were born or raised the origin of the song is what matters!!!!!that was a classic!! from jimmie. and i am scottish
Hank Snow is the greatest legend in Country Music. I love the man and have been a fan for over thirty years. Met him a few times . This video is just great. Look forward to more video's being posted on You Tube to give us Hank fans another fix
Damb it, now I got to go and find that "Blue Yodel No. 12" by Snow. Sounds like he's been living the rail all his life in this short clip! Thx for the posting!
Amazing. I love Hank Snow, and this is the first time I've seen him interviewed. If you listen to Hank's very early recordings, back when it was just him solo with his guitar, his style was incredibly close to Jimmie Rodgers. Both are country music legends, to which today's current artists cannot even compare.
This may offend some....but when I was in Korea we sang our version of Hank Snow's "Movin' On" .......
Yonder come Joe Chink running through the grass

Hank Snow was REAL. He hired out on commercial fishing boats as a teenager
and a guy taught him to play guitar. He was Canadian but we Americans love
him as one of our own, right up to that awful toupee Hank wore in his later years!

I'll be in Meridian Mississippi next week--and I will once again visit the Jimmie Rodgers Museum, and his gravesite.

I like Hank's voice a lot, not only when he talks and when he sings.
And he sure knows a lot about Jimmie.
