Why is anybody comparing Scrubs and Family Guy? They are two entirely different things. Besides the fact that Family Guy plays with each episode revolving around a different thing and Scrubs follows something of a storyline.
@RenoTurk I don't know what it's called, but both Family Guy and Scrubs do those sketches within the main plotline which often are completely unrelated to the rest of the things that are going on in the show. They both do them very frequently which is kind of their signature. Family Guy is the worst offender though with barely any main storyline at all.
family guy is random comedy, the stupid stuff that makes you laugh, scrubs comedy is also random but most of it ties in with the plot more, but they're both gold.
