  • I love this song . I agree very carefree time growing up wish kids now adage could enjoy what we had growing up. I love all thier music such great vocals and all of it. great memories thanks you guys so much .m

  • Brilliant upload!

  • Who´s the one who doesn´t like this??? He must be deaf and dead.

  • I love this song!

  • Gary, thanks for all of your wonderful music; best carefree time of my life as a teen; appreciate all the memories your songs rekindle.

  • Nice to see Gary Leeds have a moment for a change. The poor old drummer gets shoved in the background most of the time especially when the other two are so charismatic. He reminds a bit of George Harrison back in the day!

  • Thanks Gary, what great memories, how handsome were you all? Wow

  • And our parents were all freaked out about this "long hair" and these rebellious kids. LOL. This is wonderful. I don't think the boys were cuter at any other time in history than during the British Invasion and the Mod era. Dreamy, just dreamy. And I was probably 6 or so. I knew cute when I saw it. Burt always chooses the best and most magical voices to showcase his songs. Hats off to Burt B.

  • only a handful of songs give me goose pimples when i hear them.....this is one such song...a true classic!

  • @B44M44 I just read your comment about Make It Easy on Yourself Its exactly how I feel about the song I stop whatever im doing to listen to the song

  • Gary, It was fun to watch you talk about your hair. I was only about 9 or 10 when you guys sang this song, but I can remember all the hoopla over the groups wearing their hair long. LOL I mean what was the world coming to. hehe

This song is beautifully sung by you guys. Scott's voice has a haunting quality about it, so deep and rich, and John's harmony is just so nice to listen to. You can play those drums! The Walker Brothers are my fav You Tube Group!

  • This is the first song I heard Scott singing back in 92. I was 19. It took me 18 years to re-discover the man. One of the most beautiful songs I heard in my life. Curiosly, I only like this version. Maybe the voice...?

  • Happy birthday Scott!

  • My favorite version of this song is by the great Dionne Warwick, but this is absolutely beautiful. And don't forget Jerry Butler he did a great job as well. Have a great day.

  • God Simon Dee did change enormously after the success of 'Dee Time' ; he grew amazingly confident as a presenter compared to this a couple of years earlier

  • Glad to see their is a Gary Leeds channel

  • Gorgeous... simply gorgeous. They don't make 'em like that anymore...

  • its the age of my granpa when he was a dinosaur

  • great pleasure meeting you the other night gary. ben great watching these videos thanks for putting them up.

  • Very good song these dudes made, and Burt Bacharach is the king of song makers I must say.

  • thanks gary, always loved to hear the songs

this is beautiful, please please keep them

    coming

    chris

  • who can think about words on a drumkit

when beautiful voices like that are singing

    chris

  • amen

  • what does it say on the drumkit? it doesn't really look like Walker Brothers

  • sad. this guy must have is head up his arse this is scott engle {walker}+ the group there finest hour the hit that made them into the icons they are today .get real..

  • thanks so much gary, always loved all the songs, keep the coming - please

    chris

  • Oh my God, it´s beautiful!!!!

  • my favorte record ever

  • God, this brings tears to my eyes...where have all the years gone!!

  • Classic track taken from 'The Simon Dee Show'.

  • Great song.Wish someone would post Scott Walker Joanna

  • Thank you so much for this amazing post. I have not heard their version since I was a little boy. This took me right back to San Bruno, CA, dancing in our living room to this and other songs of the day. I get sad when I hear such talent and know that today such talent is few and far between. Today's music is a wasteland of scripted formula and poor form.Gone is the time when we looked forward to hearing new music.

  • Is that Simon Dee? What a rare treat, this take me back a bit, thanks for posting this.

  • What a great song,,,,brings back such good memories. Too bad we don't have bands like this day and age............

  • When I served in the first Gulf War, this song helped me get through a tough time. I was being medevac'd after being wounded, and one of the chopper pilots was playing this on his tape player. Strange, but it was always one of my favorite 60's songs, and of all the places in the world, it was playing in that chopper when I was put aboard.

  • love what more is there to say

  • this guy had the world at his feet. looks, songwriting talent & an unmatchable voice, but he chose not to cash in.why the hell not???

  • Yes what a warm inspirational melodious voice that takes me back to a wonderful senior year in High School 1966. I believe he's up there with the voice of the lead singer of the Righteous Brothers in his own way. Probably, no,definitely better. Sealed with a Kiss.

  • Because he let his neuroses, his insecurities dominate his talent. His 4th solo and best album "Scott 4" bombed and his record company stopped supporting him, that was the beginning of the end.

  • Great song. A blast from the past. Always loved this group. Thanks.

  • Scott is an incredibly talented vocalist, I never realized it so much when the records first came out in the sixties, but listening to them now I can see how truly phenomenal he really is

  • A voice I've loved for four decades retains the power to reduce me to tears. What joy this has given me. Until this past year I had never seen either Scott or the Walkers in performance. All I had were my precious vinyl albums, carefully preserved from the sixties. Acetate is a living medium; vinyl conveys an intimacy the digital age has forgotten, but these small clips are gold to me; they bring image and sound together, and show me what it was to be a fan, when it was truly magical.

  • Love this tune, the best

  • Walker Brothers' Best !!!! Always loved the great voice of Scott...

  • love it so much

  • Thank you so much XXX

  • thank you Gary for this video

  • I have always loved them , there music was terrific! great memories.

  • Oops, I meant Scott Walker. Also, the great voice goes without saying, but listen to that acoustic guitar.

  • What ever happened to Gary Walker. What a great voice.

  • Scott has the most incredible voice...so does Jay but Scott has a huskier voice...more masculine....but both very talented ....they just don't have talent like this anymore, do they?

  • what an incredible voice!!!

  • Yep, trying to sound like Jay & the Americans.

  • fantastic! this is at the very beginning. Is it a BBC pilot?

  • Thanks billy, I believe it was a pilot, not sure if it was aired.

  • Great footage of the Walker Brothers. Just like I remember first seeing them. Lovely!
