I love this song . I agree very carefree time growing up wish kids now adage could enjoy what we had growing up. I love all thier music such great vocals and all of it. great memories thanks you guys so much .m
Nice to see Gary Leeds have a moment for a change. The poor old drummer gets shoved in the background most of the time especially when the other two are so charismatic. He reminds a bit of George Harrison back in the day!
And our parents were all freaked out about this "long hair" and these rebellious kids. LOL. This is wonderful. I don't think the boys were cuter at any other time in history than during the British Invasion and the Mod era. Dreamy, just dreamy. And I was probably 6 or so. I knew cute when I saw it. Burt always chooses the best and most magical voices to showcase his songs. Hats off to Burt B.
Gary, It was fun to watch you talk about your hair. I was only about 9 or 10 when you guys sang this song, but I can remember all the hoopla over the groups wearing their hair long. LOL I mean what was the world coming to. hehe
This song is beautifully sung by you guys. Scott's voice has a haunting quality about it, so deep and rich, and John's harmony is just so nice to listen to. You can play those drums! The Walker Brothers are my fav You Tube Group!
This is the first song I heard Scott singing back in 92. I was 19. It took me 18 years to re-discover the man. One of the most beautiful songs I heard in my life. Curiosly, I only like this version. Maybe the voice...?
My favorite version of this song is by the great Dionne Warwick, but this is absolutely beautiful. And don't forget Jerry Butler he did a great job as well. Have a great day.
God Simon Dee did change enormously after the success of 'Dee Time' ; he grew amazingly confident as a presenter compared to this a couple of years earlier
sad. this guy must have is head up his arse this is scott engle {walker}+ the group there finest hour the hit that made them into the icons they are today .get real..
Thank you so much for this amazing post. I have not heard their version since I was a little boy. This took me right back to San Bruno, CA, dancing in our living room to this and other songs of the day. I get sad when I hear such talent and know that today such talent is few and far between. Today's music is a wasteland of scripted formula and poor form.Gone is the time when we looked forward to hearing new music.
When I served in the first Gulf War, this song helped me get through a tough time. I was being medevac'd after being wounded, and one of the chopper pilots was playing this on his tape player. Strange, but it was always one of my favorite 60's songs, and of all the places in the world, it was playing in that chopper when I was put aboard.
Yes what a warm inspirational melodious voice that takes me back to a wonderful senior year in High School 1966. I believe he's up there with the voice of the lead singer of the Righteous Brothers in his own way. Probably, no,definitely better. Sealed with a Kiss.
Because he let his neuroses, his insecurities dominate his talent. His 4th solo and best album "Scott 4" bombed and his record company stopped supporting him, that was the beginning of the end.
Scott is an incredibly talented vocalist, I never realized it so much when the records first came out in the sixties, but listening to them now I can see how truly phenomenal he really is
A voice I've loved for four decades retains the power to reduce me to tears. What joy this has given me. Until this past year I had never seen either Scott or the Walkers in performance. All I had were my precious vinyl albums, carefully preserved from the sixties. Acetate is a living medium; vinyl conveys an intimacy the digital age has forgotten, but these small clips are gold to me; they bring image and sound together, and show me what it was to be a fan, when it was truly magical.
Scott has the most incredible voice...so does Jay but Scott has a huskier voice...more masculine....but both very talented ....they just don't have talent like this anymore, do they?
