@Antifrost A misunderstanding there is indeed. We were both at fault. I can't say I love brawl, but I haven't played it enough to be able to really judge. I just prefer Melee. Brawl, from what I can tell, really is a more family friendly (i.e. there's not quite the same level of technical glitching) game and there's nothing wrong with that. It's a different game and I think a lot of us Melee fans were disappointed with a lot of the changes so we tend to get...snippy when someone brings it up.

As the description says, this is video is starring Kizzu and Walk. The title has Ken in it because it is primarily featuring the Ken Combo (which that Ken created) and simply because that was what it was originally titled before it was taken down from Kizzu's profile.
I have other videos hosted though that do show Ken in some tournament matches back from '06.
just type in mew2king vs crazy return, there are two parts. he 3 stocks ken, then beats isai, manacloud and one other guy, winning for his crew. so...he takes out 4 guys ( 16 stock) only using his 3 stock.
It starts out with PC Chris vs Bombsoldier, genius... It says this in nice little letters in the video itself. Then it goes on to M2K vs. Ken, Isai and other people...

kizzu doesnt give his friend code out. and he never plays as snake and would beat u with practically anyone. and i thought u could only have up to 4 letters as a name, so it would have been "kizu" like in all of his other melee videos.
Shrachek i mean no offense to you, but i can tell you didn't play melee competitively because if you did you would know with more options and deeper gameplay (what melee offered) you had more "mindgames" available at your disposal. Of course you could own through pure technical skill as well but not if your opponent had equal technical skill to you, melee had a great varriety of both of these. Now with less AT's and slower gameplay there is less to mindgame with. Brawl is about punishing mistake
Greg i know how you feel, it is very upsetting to alot of people who saw smash as a fighting game. Nintendo originally intended for smash bros to be a party game, like brawl is now, it was by pure chance that melee ended up as great a fighting game. (when i saw fighting game, i mean like street fighter, guilty gear, virtua fighter etc. those kinds of games)
so greg you're saying if i play marth against someone else's marth in a 4 stock match with no items and i and adept at dash dancing, shffling, j/cing grabs, wavedashing, edgehogging, sh double fairs, tippers etc. that i wouldn't own someone who doesn't know these tactics if i played purely offensive?
every tech you mentioned is basic. nothing advanced. if youd take a look at any zelgadis tourny match youd see they he gets wipped by your average techs.
How exactly do you set up to start those Ken combos? Like whenever i do the short hop forward A the opponent goes too far for me to hit them again with another short hop forward A
There are several ways to get out of those. One you could do is FF l-cancel the first fair and crouch into a poke. or FFL into a neut a. lastly is to dash away right when you hit the ground.
A few other factors to consider: First, the percentage of you opponent - Too low and they are hard to juggle, too high and they might fly out of range to follow them. Second, What part of the sword is connecting - The knockback varies in strength and direction depending on where on your sword you make contact.
Starting Ken combo's are the uses of the center and the tip of the sword. You may or may not know the tip of the sword is the strongest, causing more knockback. The center causes less knockback, so it can lead to combos.
Then Ken combo is hitting with center, then tip, center, tip until you reach the edge and do dair of doooom :D hope that halped (dair = Down air)
thank you :), that helped alot. hoping to use it in brawl now since its out, even though the dair did get a bit gimped, setting up for the ken combo is very easy in that game due to the gravity. Thx :)
ken combo is still very possible in brawl, but to be honest i've only pulled off short hop fair-fair, jump fair-dair twice in online play, your opponent has to di poorly for it to work, as well as not counter attack, which they have opportunities to do.
yea i noticed that to since playing brawl, its very easy to get out of combos in that game unlike melee, comboing and chain grabbing seem more like a melee thing, i think brawl is gonna be mostly about mind games
brawl is as bad as, if not worse for chaingrabs. brawl is more like a turn based rpg then anything else. You work so hard to manipulate your opponent for 1 or two hits most of the time. Then you trip...
Edgehogging is MUCH harder now, since pretty much the frame after you leave it with a roll or anything else your opponent could latch on. The only way now is if you GET there JUST before your opponent does, or if he does an attack you'll get knocked off and he'll take it.

1. Ken isn't Japanese. Ken is Chinese.
2. This video starrs Kizzu and other players. Not Ken. They only utilize the "Ken combo" that Ken made famous.
3. Ken ain't going to play a party game trash like Brawl for competitive reasons.

How exactly do you set up to start those Ken combos? Like whenever i do the short hop forward A the opponent goes too far for me to hit them again with another short hop forward A

There are several ways to get out of those. One you could do is FF l-cancel the first fair and crouch into a poke. or FFL into a neut a. lastly is to dash away right when you hit the ground.

You have to stun em' and than get close to em' to hit em' with a close F-Air so they don't move too far, than jump again and D air.

A few other factors to consider: First, the percentage of you opponent - Too low and they are hard to juggle, too high and they might fly out of range to follow them. Second, What part of the sword is connecting - The knockback varies in strength and direction depending on where on your sword you make contact.
Just a couple of things to think about.

Starting Ken combo's are the uses of the center and the tip of the sword. You may or may not know the tip of the sword is the strongest, causing more knockback. The center causes less knockback, so it can lead to combos.
Then Ken combo is hitting with center, then tip, center, tip until you reach the edge and do dair of doooom :D hope that halped (dair = Down air)

thank you :), that helped alot. hoping to use it in brawl now since its out, even though the dair did get a bit gimped, setting up for the ken combo is very easy in that game due to the gravity. Thx :)

ken combo is still very possible in brawl, but to be honest i've only pulled off short hop fair-fair, jump fair-dair twice in online play, your opponent has to di poorly for it to work, as well as not counter attack, which they have opportunities to do.

yea i noticed that to since playing brawl, its very easy to get out of combos in that game unlike melee, comboing and chain grabbing seem more like a melee thing, i think brawl is gonna be mostly about mind games

brawl is as bad as, if not worse for chaingrabs. brawl is more like a turn based rpg then anything else. You work so hard to manipulate your opponent for 1 or two hits most of the time. Then you trip...

Edgehogging is MUCH harder now, since pretty much the frame after you leave it with a roll or anything else your opponent could latch on. The only way now is if you GET there JUST before your opponent does, or if he does an attack you'll get knocked off and he'll take it.
Edgeguarding isn't horrible.
