He sang lead on many of the "Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen" records. They were a bunch of hippie college boys from Ann Arbor ,Michigan but they were all pro musicians with lots of energy & they played real authentic country, swing ,r&b.
I think Bill is a very good singer. But when you combine the great songs, with phenomenal guitar work, a very tight band and his story telling way of singing, it works exceptionally well. I've seen Bill perform many times and he is truly a national treasure and a great guy. Check him out, you won't be disappointed. This song is from "Have Love, Will Travel" which is a great CD. Perhaps his best.
good song... pretty bad singing....great playing..I'm surprised people like his voice..he sounds like someone out of the audience..the guy can play though
I love this Leroy Preston song. Bill doesn't do it live- he's down to "Swing Fever" only off this album-"Have love will travel" (a classic Lee Hazlewood song) of late. Fantastic album- all the songs are excellent.
