I haven’t seen the movie, but does anyone else get the feeling that the first part, he is frolicking around solving the mystery, and then something goes wrong and the love of his life dies because of it, and then he engages the evil doer in an epic butter-knife vs. broadsword duel, wins, yet losses everything?
@teddyrhodes101 Haha. I have seen comments similar to this when listening to the Dark Knight Soundtrack on Youtube. They all go like "Anyone else get that feeling", and then "something that covers the overall thematic plot of most action genre movies". Seriously, I find one on each soundtrack video I find.
@mshilova Soooo true. I'm studying right now actually. Even though the tracks can get kind of hectic, I'm so focused and motivated! I.... feel.... EPIC!
@Winduct Well the "UP" soundtrack is beautiful to listen but this is so fun to listen to in such an entertaining movie. Can't we let the fun win for a change than all this over focus on 'art.'
Oscars shouldn't focus on just the 'art'(often just their version) value but also the entertainment value. Making entertainment is in of itself an art process.
Downey Junior was surprisingly sleight of frame in this film, they presented him as a man of action but his physique contradicted the presentation, and it brought the authenticity of the fights into question. The apex of the film was undoubtedly the relationship between Watson and Holmes, they will expand upon that in the sequel. I hope Rachel McAdams does not dissapear, not the most vital character but still damn good looking.
@finbomartini I feel like that's kind of the point though. He doesn't use brute force but his mind as his main weapon. His intelligent observation and strategy are his strength and give him the upper hand in those fights.
chances are there'll be either a sequel in 2011/2012 (not confirmed just my guess since i see a lot of movies based off old books) plus the reviews for this movie were amazing, everyone i kknow saw it and they all loved it
@thefreemind18 ------------>professor moriarty was the one in the cab with irene adler, the one with the pistol, and rumors have been said, (well, it was robert downy who said it) that brad pitt would be the one taking up the role. (as i said, it was a rumor)
@AnoukvdS Hey, you can, you know. It's not too late to try. I think society tries to make it look like it is. I started playing piano a couple of months back. I suck, but who cares? Just have fun and try it if you want and ignore what everyone else says. Just make sure you get something cheap incase things don't turn out well X3
Seriously though, good luck. Music, and everything really, is worth a try ^_^
@AnoukvdS well, its not hard to learn! and trust me when you do learn, you will be glad you spent all that time trying :D i know the piano, ill be taking cello soon, and i know some violin, as well as the acoustic guitar and drums. :)
@blackbear1297 Hey try the Viola! its what i play and its the most awesoe instrument ever! Not to mention the electric versions of the string orchestra's instruments!
In the first time when BlackWoods was hung and when Holmes proved that magic wasn't real. . . HOW DID BLACKWOODS LOSE HIS PULSE and still lived after being hung and his body inside that coffin but he's alive? wtf?
He lost his pulse coz he had got some weird flour powder oe something in himself that made him kind of dead in a few hours, in real life it is impossible coz if he hadnt had a pulse his brain wouldnt get air and his brain would be totally fucked upp
what about when his body was in the coffin but he was in his real body? who's body was in the coffin? I heard those broken bricks were some kind of indian cuisine o.o
@Shinjuko445 He used a potion wich actaully made his hart rate go lower than 10 and because of that you dont have a pols. and yes Monks in india can do the same to lower there heart beat it takes massive training and willing.
Gentlemen, he was literally put in lethargic sleep, and i think, when funeral was performed, his man was there and gave him antidote and replace him with midget-Reardon.
The scene of Blackwood being hanged with this playing in the background is so intense. The song totally stuck with me, and it really stands out in my mind when I look back on the movie. Good stuff.
haha i saw it five times to i have to keep lying to my mom tho so i can see it, im think im going to try to see it a sixth but then i should prolly stop cuz i have no money
Great line from The beginning of "The sign of the Four": "The Deduction of Reasoning"
The trailer made this movie look terrible but in reality sans the Irene Adler character (and no cocaine/opium) it is more or less a proper portrayal of Holmes
My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram, or the most intricate analysis, and I am in my own proper atmosphere. But I abhor the dull routine of existence. I crave for mental exaltation.
nah, it's the part where Blackwood foreshadows the following events of the movie to Sherlock, afterwhich Blackwood gets... yeah. Just a very powerful part of the soundtrack that fits the opening of the story very well.

That depends, because a "score" primarily refers to the actual, tangible book that contains the written music for all parts in the soundtrack.
