  • Joe Lyn Turner was one of greatest underrated rock singer in history

  • Офигенная запись, крутое соло!

  • Am I the only one who thinks 3:45 onwards is frikkin' epic :O When Ritchie stops right next to the light and plays that guitar like... just wow.

  • Blackmore is absolutely on fire here, the octave effect does get on my tits on this concert though, every song near enough!

  • The master Yeaaahh

  • superhuman skill.

  • Honestly i heard i few nice and tight little vibrato bends and some decent scale runs but not one single nice phrase or anythingn not to mention shit tone...everybody is saying this solo is epic and dont get me wrong as an avid fan of DP i get that its awesome in the context of this song but its a shit song too and im just not hearing epicness....

  • his hands look like steve vai's

  • blackmores playing here is great but his tone sucks sounds like hes playing through a broken speaker

  • @shredmaster100 Harmonizer??

  • not the best effect then or is it just the way blackmore has it set up

  • @shredmaster100 IGK. Maybe he cut the membrane on the speakers to get that sound.

  • @MADEINMAIDEN He did a lou reed and if youve seen him with metallica you will know how thats turned out

  • @MADEINMAIDEN Octaver.

  • que paso con black moore, que hace vive o no,m perdon por la ignorancia

  • I realy love this song!!!

  • Blackmore is amazing, but I don't really dig the tone he's using in this particular performance.

  • what an awesome lineup. Blackmore, Glover, Turner. The solo was EPIC.

  • Blackmore is GOD!

  • Maestro

  • I LOVE Blackmore,Glover,Turner,...an AMAZING COMBINATION!!!!

  • WHEN I SAY FIRST NOTES.... IT AINT.. WHAT UR THINKIN, PLUS HES GOT AN OCTAVER ON THE SOLO, DONT MATTER, ITS WHY ..ITS HIM

  • THATS THE FUKKIN TRUTH!

  • 3;33-3;34 THAT LOOK IS WHAT IM TALKIN BOUT LOL

  • THEN LOOK AT JOE WITH ROGER, THATS WHAT HE WAS FEELIN, LOVE JOE , GREAT GUY AND NOT GAY LOL.. BUT RITCHIE I THINK COULD ONLY HANDLE SO MUCH DRUNKNESS LOL

  • 3:46-3:48 more just badass notes -musicfunkydude just aint gettin it

  • @badhorsee first four notes adn slide.

  • hell even the first 3 notes of the solo are fkn badass

  • FUCK JLT HOW BOUT BLACKMORE, SOMTHING SPECIAL ABOUT RITCHIE

  • FUCK JLT HOW BOUT BLACKMORE

  • 4:08...something epics gonna happen!

  • 3 people have no taste in rock n roll....

  • It's all here...JLT's cheese ball front man (good voice), Glover's dad dancing (good bass playing), A classic Blackmore 'fuck you' look at 3.28-3.35...with a solo you know is him.

What is up with the fuzz/octave sound for this whole gig though? Was he trying to piss people off in his usual Blackmore way?

  • Voice,perfect

  • Get your belly out for the fans lol

  • i have the cd (finyl vinyl) and the sound quality is just horrible...

    this is great.

  • An *Okay guy* song, if you know what I mean =)))

  • finyl vinyl CD =)

  • the only problem that i have with this rainbow era , is that the dio songs didn´´t sound properly

  • RAINBOW IS THE BEST GROUP EVER!!!IT DOESNT MATTER WHO IS ON THE VOCALS:DIO,BONETT,TURNER,WHITE.LONG LIVE RITCHIE!!!

  • Ritchie Blackmore is so underated, people always bang on about Page and fuckin Clapton, hes a bit of an enigma and very difficult to get on with hence all the different line ups hes been in and thats just Deep Purple.

  • @Robcatist Blackmore is not underated. Only fools think so :) Rock on man.

  • Not only does this blow the studio version out of the water, but it contains (in my opinion) the greatest Blackmore solo ever. If someone asked me why I was a fan of this particular guitarist, I'd answer simply, "Listen to the version of 'I Surrender' from Rainbow's final gig in 1984." They wouldn't need to hear anything else. From crying desperation to grim resignation and back again...this solo sounds as fresh and inspired as it did 27 years ago.

  • @Pin33 I finally found someone with my same opinion about the great Blackmore. Regards!!!

  • @jjmora05 Thanks, m'friend! Anyone who doesn't feel this way about Blackmore just isn't listening ;)

  • @Pin33 You're right, many guitarists do not understand ,but if they heard they would know that guitarists like Eddie Van Halen formed his playing on the infuence of Blackmore, just listen to the solo Hot For Teacher. Many of the licks used by Eddie come from Blackmore. The truth is Blackmore is the most underrated guitarist I know... at least in america. Regards

  • @Pin33 ...Bro, I could not have said it better myself, I think the solo is one of Ritchie's finest moments. I also feel that this is the perfect band. Ritchie's playing combined with Joe Lynn Turner's vocals and Roger Glovers Bass is just amazing. Too bad Ritchie is not into Rock music anymore.

  • @Pin33 it is a great solo but his solos in stargazer, light in the black and gates of babylon are more memorable

  • @Pin33 In other words, Ritchie Rocks. R.I.P. Ronnie (don't forget)

  • Blackmore is the coolest guy in the multiple universes...

  • Don in keyboards?

  • @sandrorhoads David Rosenthal :)

  • One of the best rock voices ever!

  • "Literal translation" for Blackmore's "look" at 3:28 >>>

    - Guys, I'm going to break loose now, brace yourselves...

  • CRAP

  • The break at 4:10 is just huge !!

  • "Might merember"? :D

  • Great performance! And Mr.Blackmore working hard...

  • What is it with ritchies hair, is it implants when you see him at the start of his career hes nearly bald.

  • Richie with hair implantation

  • Seriously, I never thought I'd listen to rock music but now this band is my drug <3

  • @Popcornbarnet well god damit u should listen to rock music

  • @Rorschachxx1985 IT IS rock music haha

  • joe and dio was imo Rainbows greatest singers...

  • Ritchie Blackmore COOL!!

  • Universumin hienoin biisi. Yk kiittää ja kumartaa!

  • RAINBOW my life

  • love it♪

  • Joe Lynn DOES have a sweet voice but, it's was the Made in America Ronnie Dio that gave Rainbow it's foundation.

  • I saw Rainbow on the "Difficult to Cure "tour in81, Rose Tattoo were support. I was 12 at the time ,me and my mate had sent off to the Rainbow fan club for tickets but they never arrived so his dad wrote to them just before the show. We were told to knock on the back door which we did and were let in and led backstage down a corridor passing Richies dressing room . We were given a huge green sticker each which were backstage passes. I,ll never forget that night.

  • @magicbus144 so did u chat with rainbow then? ur mates dad is the coolest ever but then again my dad is pretty kl

  • @magicbus144 Great story

  • @magicbus144 That's cool story

  • @couch63 No, we didnt get to speak to them, i wish i had though. When we arrived at The Apollo in Manchester we were expecting to be given tickets like everyone else.

It was one of the greatest concerts ive had the pleasure of being at.

  • @magicbus144 Funny ...just last night i was listening to lots of rose tattoo ...in your honest opinion - how did you find rose tattoo that night ? It just does not sound like an ideal match - still , maybe it was great ?

I always thought they were a great Australian band -easily as good as ac dc - you ????

  • the key bord player is from REDCAR england!!!! lots of love. mick in sunny hartlepool.

  • Aint no Dio !!!! by far

  • 秒殺で失神するぐらいシビれた~~~~!!

  • Looks like Chuck Burgii on drums. He was a monster, very underated drummer. The octave divider is what it is but the solo isn't bad. If you want to hear a crappy live solo check out Page 1975 and later.

  • I love Dio, but I like Turner with Rainbow the best.

  • crap guitar, great drumming

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • 4:10 Nice, but blew my headphones!

  • what year was this

  • @tomoutlane

    it's from japan 84

  • Dude, read in between the lines, i love Rainbow and Blackmore's twin harmony parts on I Surrender are legendary just so dissapointed with his choice of notes and use of an ''octaver'' which as the name suggests plays the same line Ritchie plays but only an octave [ 8 notes ] lower, when youve known the record for years imho he should just played the lower harmony for the first 4 bars of the re-intro and the higher harmony for the second,i,ve played this live many times and i know what works.

  • @musicfunkydude i argee with u.. the octave sounds a bit weird.. he choosen the wrong gadget for this song.. but this song will LIVE FOREVER!!! \m/

  • The man can sing!

  • Joe is so Gay.

  • "This one you might remember" Everyone like WTF?

  • i still love this song, great singer but absolutely crap live guitar from BLACKMORE, strange octaver sound thing going on, sorry mate

  • @musicfunkydude

well it´s an effect he sometimes used back then....

he played so many incredible and unreachable things, so leave him doing this... :-)

  • @musicfunkydude Well, every guitarist have his own style so does Blackmore. One of the greatest..I dont think u can say that Jimi Hendrix played totally straight after the book either.. Blackmore is an ecxentric person so is his guitarstyle. But put on Spotlight Kid & try send in a guitarcover and let me hear u play the classical guitar theme in same speed Then I bow in the dust & the octave-errors u talk about is just ??But if its Malmsteen guitar you wanna hear, then u are a wrong place bro!

  • @musicfunkydude u cant hold ritchies jock, lotta feel goin on that u missed , sounds like total blackmore to me, and i listen to lane, guthrie, malmsteen -most things technically good -and i play them as well-no substitute for blackmore- his bends and choice of notes-i feel him , dont understand how u dont, lol, dude is a BADASS!
