no disrespect to Michelle Branch but THIS is the version that should have been the hit this song was. saw Carlos Santana on a talk show promoting the cd this came out on saying when he originally turned in this version to the record label they HATED it (???). so it was re-recorded (using same arrangement) with Branch. wonder if whoever rejected Tina's version is still in the music biz? THIS IS TINA'S SONG!!!!

Gotta drop in for mah girl. This is Branch's song. Sorry guys, and I mean this with all respect, but this isn't Turner's music. Santana's guitar is like a vocal in itself, and Tina is singing to a diffrent tune. Branch's version connects to the lyrics. It's all about hopelessly falling in love but being easy and content with it. It's like a girl getting out of bed in the morning with that slightly messed up hair. Branch captures that in her vocals. It's what one this song a Grammy.

Yes, Tina was the first to sing this. Santana's record company didn't want Tina on the album. What's her face was popular at the time, so they went with who could get better sales. (I'm thinking the sales person has since been fired.)

This story was denied that Tina is totally fake. This version was recorded in 2007 with Tina singing.

Incorrect info. Tina's version was recorded first and the record company told Carlos they wanted a younger sound than Tina's. And that's when Michelle was tapped and they released her version. Great single with Michelle but our nation was robbed when this wasn't released as a single and video. I think sometimes in the past Tina has avoided releasing singles inbetween albums to avoid promotion and touring so often.
